I'm new to ASX and i'm a bit overwhelmed by the scope of options ASX has. I will take the time to learn what each one does, but in the short term, i'd like to see ASX in action a little bit. So I have a few questions.1.) If I simply want to use real world weather, do I just need to launch ASX, wait for it to download the weather data and then hit the launch FSX button at the bottom?2.) When I get to the runway, the green bar scrolls along saying ASX is loading initial data (or something to that effect). Should I wait on the runway at that point until I see some kind of finished loading message before I take off?3.) Under the Settings options, are there any specific …

It never seems to rain or snow at my destination airport even thought it is indicated in the metar, ive spent hours changing settings and experimenting, including lowering/changing/removing supression ranges altitudes loading flight plans with and without force destination wx zone, weather settings off in fsuipc, hitting 'set default' tab in asv6, nothing works, i get precipitation about 20-30 miles out then it just dissaperas, it only reappears after landing (after another metar is downloaded and refreshed) or i can make it reappear on approach by minimising FS and hitting the refresh tab, it really is annoying me now!! Flying today I was plagued by this strange fog layer with straight edges that meant I was unable to see the aerodrome. Is there any way that this layer can be removed?This is in FSX with ASX and X Graphics.Many thanks,Tim

Hi folks,Been using Active Sky 5.6 for a long while now and find it an excellent program, one my Fs2004 would never be without, I use the 'smooth horizon' textureon P69 in the software which gives a excellent 'hazed out' horizon ( max sight distance set in Fs9 and 80 in ASV ) at the high altitudes I cruise at. I wonder if there is a 'smooth' dawn and dusk texture in the package as I find at a given time at sunrise and sunset there will be a sudden switch too a 'hard horizon'.I know there are other 'smooth horizon' sets avalible on the net but would like to keep my ASV textures.thanks and regards,Steve / UK

Hi gents,I have been a very happy user of ASX for some time now, but yesterday I suffered a major problem, which I thought I should let you know about.I bought FS FlightKeeper 3 yesterday and installed it on my second networked PC. Because my main flight sim PC runs Vista, I was of course unable to map a network drive to ASX, which was installed on the C:\ drive of my Vista pc. So I thought, no probs, I'll uninstall ASX and re-install it on the E:\ drive where FSX resides and which I have no trouble mapping.I uninstalled no problems from the Windows control panel, then re-installed it in E:\. Hello,I own Asv6.5, ASX and X Graphics. Since all HIFISIM products worked really well for me over the years I will of course buy ASA.Is it possible that ASA will use X-Graphics for updating my FS9 textures?As far as I know X-Graphics was designed for FSX, so it would be interesting if it will be usable for FS9 also, since ASA will work in both sims.Kind regardsMartin

Hey guys, loving your product but I'm having issues. In FS9 when AS is updating, it usually takes 10-15 minutes for the updates to happen no matter where I am in the sim. AS6 pretty much freezes up and the only way I know it's still working is every few seconds a 02 shows up under CPU in processes in the task manager. when it updates I've usually outrun the weather stations so there's no weather for a little while, then a few minutes later I've got the weather again. Any ideas?Thanks

Hello, I just purchased xpax and having install issue. i,m getting the simconnect message that tells me to repair sp1. I looked in my add remove programs in XP and only saw service pack 2. I did have the show updates tab checked. I then followed the manual removal instructions and same error came up.I then unistalled service pack 2 and then reinstalled both service pack 1 then 2. still no joy. please help I also want to purchase ASX but want to get this to work first.Thanks,Tom

Hi guys,Just reinstalled FS9 and am trying to run Widefs and AS6 on the client PC with FS9 and GEPro on the server. AS6 is working fine but it can't see GEPro on the server. Also, GEPro can't find AS6. Any ideas what I have done wrong.Thanks.

If you look at the past few days in the forums as a simple snapshot (let alone the past few weeks or months) you will see countless topics of weather not depicting properly, windshifts that can't be controlled, no clouds when the observation is overcast, on and on. Now, you are touting this new version as fixing a lot of those issues and you feel good about charging people for it? Anything that remedies known problems in ASX should be free; anything new you add I have no problem paying for. I like the comment that you have refocused on core weather delivery into the sim, that is important. One just has to look at a very recent release of an environment enhancement program…

Was wondering if for some reason the servers were down at all... AS6.5 wont get past the ...Connecting to HiFi DataNet... portion. I've never had this happen before so im a bit skeptical, probably an issue on my end. :(

Hi Noel,Thanks for writing.Because it would mean ignoring the visibility value of every METAR, in every download, and every refresh. Or you can use the X Graphics special clear textures or you can set your minimum visibility to such a high value that you will always have unlimited visibility. hey guys, well i installed AS6 a few monts back and then uninstalled it, well after that my FS9 sky textures were all messed up, so i uninstalled FS9 and reinstalled it, well ever since then i have experienced CTD's. I just find it strange that after i uninstalled AS6 my game started crashing.

Hi, I have ASX and X Graphics. I keep getting "Received Problem: Object variable of With block variable not set..."Can someone please tell me if this is an error. i log into FSX with ASX open and it doesn't seem like the new weather vars are getting loaded the way they did for FS9 and AS6.5I can say that I am getting that Sim Connect error when start ASX. Not sure if it's related. I followed instructions and reinstalled SP1 and 2 but I still get the error. I can not unistall SP1 because there is no entry in Add/Remove Programs for SP1. Only SP2 which I did uninstall and reinstall. I am using Win XP. Can anyone help?

Hi all,Doing a flight towards the wonderful new Armenia Freewarw scenery (UDYZ), i observed that no weather is available for this airport and indeed for no airport in Armenia. Is there any way to add them to the Db? Vatsim has a weather available for this airport.EDIT DISREGARD... It is with the old ICAO in teh program :( :( Chris

A quick question for Damian or Jim. In regards to Activesky (FS9) and FSBuild. Would it be possible for you to get together with Ernie and find a way to export the winds to FSBuild without having to load up the sim first? I like to do my flightplan before I get the sim running and currently, FSBuild only reads the weather that is loaded into the sim already. Oh, and the huge new feature, it wouldn't happen to be the AS flightplan and engine forecasting the weather at the time of arrival at the destination would it? Hello guys,I hae managed to get my winds to not spike back and forth. I have FSUIPC Wx setting ON, Enhanced Coverage and smoothing ON. For the past 2 hours I should be having about 80 knots of tail wind.But for that same time I have been having 35 knots headwinds.For example, as I'm flying now ASX reports 278@104. My FMC reports winds at 130 @ 46. It has been travelling between 100 and 130 for the past two hours without ever turning to tail. It was like this on my previous flight also.Any idea where I should start troubleshooting this? It wreaks havoc on my planning.Regards,Xander

I've got mine as follows:Min. Surface Vis - @0SMMax.Surface Vis - @100SMMax.Upper Vis - @60SMWhat exactly are Surface Visibility and Upper visibility? Their names may say it all, but I'd like to understand the meaning yet. Also, why, for example, Max.Upper Visibility is lower than MaxSurface visibility by default?Another question, why there is Fog layer simulation? What exactly does it serve for?Thanks, Dirk.
