I am trying to change the MaxCloudThickness setting in AS6.5 Build 552 to 25000 but when I do the next time I start AS it is back to 10000.The weird thing is the ASv6.ini shows the 25000 but the GUI settings screen does not. I just pruchased the upgrade to ASA from ASX. ASX in installed on my system.It boots and goes through it's normal start-up routine and then fails at this message: Backwards Compatibility ASv6 Check/Copy problem: Could not find a part of the path 'C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator 9\Modules\ASv6\ASv6.exe'. Now, I don't have FS9 installed, and the purchased upgrade was for ASX-ASA (I double checked), so why is it even looking for either of these two??A little help, please :( FSX (SP2)Vista 32Q66008800GT4gb RAM

Hi,Had been using ASX with REX and FEX textures. Upgraded to ASA and purchased XG ((mainly to try the auto extended integration function). Both are installed on a client machine. ASA connects to FSX and is great! My problem is trying to install the XG textures. Hi Folks,Thanks for another great release. I'm having some problem getting the software running though.I'm a previous AS and ASX customer. I have bought the ASA ASX upgrade.However when trying to fire up ASA on my laptop (which has ASX installed) the program runs, downloads wheather etc. But in the progress text it stops working when it gets to a line about not being able to find the path related to backwards compatibility to AS6.5.Am I going to have to install AS6.5 to get ASA to run?RegardsH

Firstly, after installing the upgrade I now have both ASX and ASA installed and accessable via the shortcuts and showing in the installed/uninstall panel.Should ASX now be deleted as I was under the impression that ASA would have just upgarded the ASX installation.Secondly, I am a little lost as to how the integration of GEX,FEX,REX would work with ASA, as each have many "duplicated aspects" with regard to clouds and scenery textures etc: Do you turn say clouds of in GEX and FEX and use REX??If so what is the point of running them all at the same time?

First of all, I have a question about ASA, most likely pertaining to ASv6.5, but reading the ASA manual made me think of it. I plan on getting ASA for FS9 though.In the real-time/sim-time, what does this mean? I thought I knew, but I'm unsure now. If AS is set to real time does that simply mean the WX displayed is real time, and does changing the sim time effect this? And what does having this set to sim time do? Example, most of my flying has to be done at night because it's when I'm home to "play", but I don't always wanna fly at night in the sim, so I usually just load AS weather then set the time in the sim I want. Hi,I've just purchased the ASA upgrade and tried to download it twicw but the archive says its invalid.The 1st download was from the USA West Coast server using the normal MS download i.e. "Save target as" and the 2nd via Freshdownload which is a download manager from the East Coast2 server.The 2nd file was about 100bytes bigger than the 1st but is still invalid. Its properties are -Size 80.4 MB (84,339,966 bytes)Size on disk 80.4 MB (84,340,736 bytes).Is this right or are the server files corrupt? It's even more annoying as I've used over 160MB of my daily download limit already.Regards Rog Hanson

Hi,first off, thanks to Jim for answering my query earlier today. I purchased ASA (upgrade from ASv6.5) and successfully installed it on my WideFS machine. Since I have an old FS9 installation there, I renamed the main FS folder to something else and ASA intelligently asked me to provide the (mapped) path to FS9. Well done! :(After fiddling around a bit, I set up everything and left my FSUPIC settings unchanged from the ASv6.5 days. I set up FE, GEII Pro, fired up Fs9 and started Wide Client. Flight was from Chicago O'Hare to Washington, Dulles, aboard a B737-800. ASA sent me a beautiful snowy and foggy weather at KORD and I could feel the cold right into the pit. :( Aft…

Hi,I have a question about the 'Force to xx Time' setting.According to the manual:"All weather engine processes depend on the currently active date/time. Please make sure you are aware of your settings here to get the results expected. Normally, Force to Real Time is recommended."Does this imply that the FS time must be equal to the current real time to get the actual weather?I'm a bit confused by this setting.In ActiveSky6.5 I always flew with real time Wx, independent of FS time (correct me if I'm wrong)I would like to be able to fly any time of the FS-day with the current real time Wx. I hope that still is possible.

Hi Damian/Jim.I've just purchased ASA and I uninstalled AS6.5 and ASX and rebooted before installing ASA.When first running ASA it went through the activation stage and asked if FS9 or FSX were to be initial start programs.I selected FS9 and it started its download ok but when it gets to 'parsing items' it crashes to desktop.I cannot get beyond this stage.I'm running XP SP3 as my op system. Hi.I have ASX installed on my PC. Now I have downloaded an upgrade to ASA. The downloaded ZIP is named ASA-Upgrade-ASX.The installation went well without any problem. But when I launche the program (ASA) it stops working after a few seconds. If I fly the clouds pop up from now were , doesn`t look realistic. Is there a setting for this ?.Also fog around the mountains looks very unrealistic also.Any help please.Regards\\Johan
