Hello all,As with any new release, we are expecting increased traffic load on all our systems. We've been expanding and fine tuning our server systems for years, making things more smooth each and every release, so we think that this new release (ASA) should go pretty smoothly.HOWEVER, please keep in mind that there most likely WILL be some issues experienced for at least some customers. I got a couple of questions.1. ASA seems to work only if i start FSX first. It doesn't work if i start ASA first. I have the free FSUIPC version. Is there a solution for this?2. Is it true that a wheather programm cannot inject the wheather textures when FSX is running? So if i have to start FSX first how can ASA inject the textures?3. I still don't get the snapshot thing. For wheather i have ASX, XG and REX. I don't understand the explanation in ASA about snapshots. For instance: do i first have to figure out what clouds i like, choose them, for example in REX, and then make a snapshot of it? I don't know how clouds are supposed to look for certain wheathertypes, i am…

I'm using ASA and trying to download historical dates for offline weather. On the Historical screen in the lower section where you select the dates to be downloaded, I can select the year/month/day, but I'm not able to change the time. No matter what time I select as soon as leave that row it pops back to current UTC. Seems there is no way to save your change.

Apologies if this has already been answered somewhere. I'm wanting to upgrade to ASA from Active Sky 6.5 but I need to know something first. I recently switched over to a Wide FS setup, on which 6.5 runs just fine. The client machine is a somewhat older Pentium machine and only has 512MB of RAM, and at this point any money I can spare for hardware upgrades is earmarked for a new FS machine. I know this meets the minimum requirements of ASA, but I'm wondering if I'll have any performance problems. As I said, 6.5 runs well and I see no problems with updates over the network. I'm guessing that ASA will need to use the page file more, and I might very well be able to free up …

I was using ASX and uprgraded to ASA because I heard the severe windshifting aloft had been solved, but I seem to still getting be hammered. What am I doing wrong? I have checked "enable visibility graduation and smoothing" in the Visibility options page and "enable direct wind control and smoothing" in the wind options page. I have tried several aircraft including Flight 1 Super 80 classic, ATR 72-500, and ERJ 145 but I still get slammed into overspeed conditions all the time. What can I do?

Hello Again, This is getting to be really annoying experience with ASA and or ASX, especially with ASA. I own both products and have the problem with ASA more than I do with ASX.1. With either product when the winds shift I will loose up to 250kts or airspeed. I just disconnected because the last update caused me to loose 300kts and put my aircraft into an uncrecoverable nose dive.2. This loss of airspeed happens with every single change in winds in ASA regardless of settings in ASA or FSUIPC (ver 4.4). I can get the same in ASX but randomly.3. When this occurs in ASX one way to fix it was to stop ASX and then restart it with new data.4. I've attached my logs from …

I'm looking forward using the new improved weather engine! :( I have two questions about updating from ASX:I bought ASX from simmarket (basially because i had a problem getting it direct from your HiFi shop-- you might remember). I noticed ASA isn't available (yet) on simmarket. I assume that i can update my "simmarket bought ASX" with the ASA from your own shop..?Also, my IP changed last year (same provider though).. do I have to contact you to be able to activate my ASA once installed?If you need more info, pls let me know. Hi.I have a short question regarding ActiveSkyAdvanced.My ASA is upgraded from ASX. In ASX I used to have checked both SkyScape options. In ASA UserInterface I don't see any possibility to check for SkyScape modes. When I look in ASA FSXOptions there are 2 lines for SkyScape. Both arguments are set to False. Does a change to True make any difference? EnableSkyScapeMode = FalseUseSkyScapeforStratus = FalseI also have a short question regarding texture size in XGraphics. Everything is working great in ASA, FPS, better depiction of haze, and good IMC in clouds to list a few. My problem is clouds keep alternating from cumulus to stratus and back to cumulus at 3 minutes or so intervals. There is no depiction of clouds approaching, just a sudden shift from being in the clouds at 6000 to being over a low stratus layer and then back to in the cumulus- no sense of approaching clouds. Is there anything to cure this.I tried enabling more weather stations last night. It didn't help.

I wonder what the Refresh button does, in between the Historical en Help buttons in ASA. The thing is that whenever I press it once or twice, the weather changes, specially the clouds. I am at EHAM. When I started ASA clouds were overcast. I pressed Refresh twice and clouds were Scattered, I pressed again and clouds were Few. I pressed once more and clouds were Broken... Now afaik there is a BIG difference between Few and Overcast... How can I know for sure the REAL weather is used...? Seems a bit random to me. Should I press Refresh time after time until the clouds stay the same, because right now, after pressing about 20 times, the clouds stay broken... The weather does…

Hello All, I am back to using ASX and now I am randomly getting the Exception Received 14 message in the Main Window of ASX. I notice this occuring after ASX downloads new weather data. I first notice that the Winds in FSX dissappear and then check the Main ASX window and notice the message. This occurs randomly, I had this issue when I first started using ASX a few months ago but it went away and has reappeard today. Running ASX with the latest patch installed. I also have ASA installed but am waiting for the winds issue to get corrected.TanksAndy

I just tried ASA for the first time in FSX and was at the gate with my PMDG MD11. I was in outside view and noticed that when ASA was loaded it flipped my aircraft over. I restarted the sim four times and tried the same set up. Two times did it flip over, once my computer froze when ASA was starting up and the last time everything seemed ok. Is there some setting that can cause this? I only have FS11, PMDGMD11 and ASA installed. In FS9 most things works well although of course it's veeery slow to start up. Hi, I seem to be having the same problem with ASA not updating the weather. 1. Start ASA, click start FS, Load my flight plan from within FSX, pick plane ect. weather says user defined, click fly now.2. FSX loads like normal then text message scrolls above saying ASA complete, but then FSX load screen comes back and loads very quickly again?? Ugg! I hope I'm doing something wrong. I have nice clouds from FEX installed, then run ASA, and ugly! Some cloud textures I have never seen before are showing up, and it is anything but realistic. In fact it's so ugly I'm just running canned FSX weather! I guess I should have just left well enough alone and kept ASX running, which was working well enough. Too early to come to conclusions, but so far, I'm not seeing anything positive in ASA except of course for haze layer handling. Looking at the report for the same airport EHVB in ASA and Xengine, ASA reports Overcast and ASX reports Clear below 20,000.Looking out of my window the ASX report is OK and the ASA report is definitely wrong.How come :(

A couple days ago I bought ASA and XG. I have ASA working fine and downloading the weather at the applicable airport. The problem is with XG, when i start FSX and go to the airport I am starting from i see no change in the cloud textures or any for that matter in flightsim. I have taken snapshots aand downloaded. When I start he program i do it as an administrator as well. I am using fsx sp2, GEX, UT. So I guess the big question is how do i fix this? Thank you in advance. Regards Tony

I wonder how ASA works with or influences the active runway. I just started a flight at LFPG, loading the plane on the active runway. The wind was coming out of the east so I expected runway 9, but I ended up on runway 26... I turned ATIS on and indeed the runway should have been 9! Now of course this is simply solved by NOT loading a flight on the runway but at a gate and then listen to ATIS :( but my problem is that I would like to know the active runway of the dep and arrival airport before I start a flight. I thought simply (well...) starting a flight at the active runway would show me the right runway, but I was wrong... I have to listen to ATIS first. Anyway, I wond…

Hi Guys:Firstly, congratulations and the best of luck on releasing Active Sky Advanced.Does it really work though?I am considering upgrading ASX to ASA, and as the majority of my flying is heavy metal on transatlantic hops, does the age old wind shift issue truly go away with the ASA package?Aside from wind shifts in areas of low station quantity (Atlantic, Pacific, Siberia, Etc) i often find a problem with the fact that wonderful though ASX wind smoothing may be, it often results in the winds being in the wrong direction. So much so that for transatlantic flying, i generally used FS9 rather than X, my preferred sim.I appreciate that the creators / owners of the software …
