Before I bought ASA I had a problem with one texture disappearing. Now it looks like it might be related to frozen water, but I'm not sure yet. Not being completely familiar with textures in FSX I would find this problem hard to nail down, except previously I had fixed the problem by uninstalling XG and ASX both.Today I discovered the problem has returned, but I haven't used XG except through ASA. Flying through Florida I found lots of smaller ponds and mid-sized ponds appearing to be frozen solid (textured white).Then when I landed at KFMY I noticed the winds were 4-5 times stronger then ATIS reports. Guys, The problem I am having with ASA starts when the program starts parsing line items after download. The only way to correct it is to come out of LNAV and get the aircraft back in control. Below is the part of the log that coincides with the wild turns. I am in a PMDG 744 near the VOR CSI. I've just purchased and installed ASX. When I have it running, it doesn't seem to allow FSReal Time to connect --- i get "IPC timed out all retries". When I use FSX without ASX, FSReaTime connects normally (uses FSUIPC4.4) Also, the graphic and text depiction of Weather Report has seemed to have disappeared on ASX -- the page is there but no data depicted. Using historical weather. It was there when I first installed, now no data present.

I have FSX accel installed. I'm trying to setup use sim connect. I follow the instructions that came with ASA for network computers, but it won't work. The FS9 version of ASA works over the FSwide connection. Is there anyway to ditch simconnect and use FSX and ASA over fswide??? I keep getting message "Simconnect Client SP2 not found". But if I run the AI traffic program, it shows connected to FSX.Bill M

Gents,I am a VERY happy long time user of AS6.5 and ASG and still only use FS9. One of the features I like the most is the ability to load a flight plan into AS6.5 then use the ASG auto-submit feature to pull "Wx-Influenced" textures from ASg. Quick and simple way to get a realistic texute set based on prevailing conditions.From chatter in this forum, your website, and my VA website (all positve comments BTW) I understand that ASA does not include it's own graphics program, it is designed to use any all other to pull texture sets. Hi Jim and the Hi Fi Team:I have owned every version of active sky, even the free one years back and have recently purchased the ASA for FS9 version. I only use FS9. I am completely bewildered by the ASA setup as regards use of add on scenery enhancing products. I am seeking blow by blow instructions on exactly HOW to add the following-1. GE Pro2. FE From the instructions I have read so far, it seems this is done via snapshots. Is this correct? Does ASA keep the settings for every flight we do as in AS6.5? Hello all!When purchasing the ASA upgrade for users of ASX, it states that it scans your system for an ASX license file. I have ASX and the License file on my computer but not yet installed. Do I need to install ASX and the the ASA installer will update it, or is the presence of ASX on my machine enough to get the installer going?My reason for asking this is to see if I actually need to do an install of ASX in FSX or if the upograde is the actual full ASA installer?On a side note, thanks Hifi for getting my installer back to me. HiThis is in FS9 on XP using the ASA upgrade of AS6.5.Firstly I'm really impressed with the improved visuals - ASA looks great. I'm using snapshots made up from ASG and it's noticeably more impressive than AS6.5. :( Unfortunately for now ASA is unusable for me because of wild wind direction/speed changes. Yes I do have the smoothing box checked. I flew today from EPWA to EGLL (Aerosoft) in the Level D B763 and the wind changes were playing havoc with the autothrottle system - a really unpleasant experience. :( Another irritation is that in order to load a flightplan into ASA from FS9 I have to change my regional settings from Polish (I use Win XP Polish) to English.…

My ASX was not starting for some reason. I tried the repair but it still did not start, so I removed it with hopes of a reinstall would correct it. The last couple of days i started FSX first and then ASA. I did it this way because if i start ASA first it doesn't connect to FSX.Hifi asked for my logs and is looking into this.Now to my question.If i start FSX first and then ASA, ASA connects and i get weather but i don't get the suitable textures because of the limitation of fsx not able to swap textures when running.But from what exact point is FSX not capable of swapping textures? What does "running" mean from the FSX standpoint?Is FSX "running" when i'm still on the choose-your-flight screen? I have noticed this a lot but have never contacted anyone about it. I use AS6.5 quite often with FS yet it always seems to be an hour to an hour and a half behind the current wx. I am set at GMT -5 (east coast USA) yet every time I hit refresh, the current active wx is about an hour old and its 30 minutes into the new hour. Here is a photo I just took. The time is in eastern time at the bottom right of my screen (10:26 am eastern), yet active sky's active wx is an hr and a half old (13:53 zulu, or 08:53 eastern). Why does this happen and how can I fix it?EDIT: The time is now 10:41 eastern, so the current active wx is almost 2 hours old.

I purchased ASX about a few months ago and everything seemed to work perfectly. Just a week ago I purchased ASA. After instalation of ASA my ASX and ASA don't work consistently. Few of the issues I have seen.1. The adiabatic lapse rate actually is reversed. As I climb, the OAT gets warmer.2. Sometimes the weather in FSX does not reflect what ASA/ASX shows at the stations.3. The OAT in FSX does not match the OAT at the station within ASX/ASA.4. By selecting the world/weather menu inside FSX and then merely clicking OK without changing anything, will sometimes correct any inconsistancies, but this method is short lived, as FSX will start to show the wrong weather again.…

I've seen it mentioned to death, but mainly over water. But the insane wind shifts nearly render ASA useless. Descending into Las Vegas tonight I had a wind shift of 180 degrees. Crossing NORRA the wind shifted from 250 to 030. Note the FD below... NO 030 winds anywhere on the route. Then, to make matters worse, it shifted back to normal. Log is attached. Time of occurrence was ~ 4:58pm and again at 5:27pm. This is so unfortunate. I have used ActiveSky since the free version and loved it. Hi all, With ASA,when I click on start flightsim button, FS9 will not start.The task manager shows it running,but that's it,Then when I try to kill FS9,it will not shut down,even trying end it all. Thanks in advance for any help.

Since I have started using ASA I have been getting random CTD with this error code...AppName: fs9.exe AppVer: 9.1.0.40901 ModName: fsuipc.dllModVer: 3.8.5.0 Offset: 000273e6I have a registered copy of fsuipc and I have the latest 3.8 5 fsuipc dll in the module file of FS9.
