hello, I've just purchased and installed ASA from Simmarketnothing during the installation mentioned about upgrading ASX (that I kept installed, as your website says that a valid ASX installation is required), so it looks like I have both ASX and ASA working, but:as ther readme says to launch XGauge wizard, just like I did for ASX, I haven't launched ASA yet, because I'm uncertain about the results of a double XGauge installation:do I have to uninstall ASX first, thence to complete ASA setup, or may I launch XGauge freely without risking to damage FSX?thanks

:( Hi would like to say I'm really enjoying ASA since the beta update. Everything is working great now. I was just wondering; AS6.5 would always display the metar updates withing the sim and, sorry to say, it seems that ASA does not. Has this feature been disabled???? I do have display messages checked on. I really enjoyed seeing the updates and would love to see them again. Thanks Radio

I assume, as usual, to be the only one with this weird affect. I can duplicate this crash:1. Start with default Cessna2. Go to YSCH (FTX) with default fair weather.3. Load Cheyenne.4. Start ASA and FSX crashes with a BEX fatal error. The detail reports the Cheyenne navdata dll.5. There is nothing in the ASA log since it causes the Cheyenne to crash FSX.This only occurs with the FTX scenery. Has anyone else seen this?Bob..

Can someone enlighten me to the use of the graphics snapshot feature? I have ASA and also X Graphics. I have been installing various texture themes prior to starting FSX. I've been uncertain as to how the weather adjusted textures work, and how they integrate with ASA. Can someone explain their correct use and benefit -- both for the weather adjusted textures in X Graphics, and the snapshot feature in ASA. I have read the manual, but still not real clear on this.

Hello,As we can read everywhere ASA it's a really good addon and good for the realism weather engine, for my opinion,i appreciate this addon,i'm a old custumer..i also bought REX to compare the weather engine and to use the textures with ASAWell, also that say ASA is very realistic, but my question is ,what's happen if i fly with a Cessna 172 inside a cumulonimbus or inside a thunderstorm ?I'm flying in the real life, and i don't want to have this experience because it will be certainely my last flight...So i use the real weather engine in ASA, since i bought it i didn't meet any thunderstorm by luck, and i hope i will have to avoid the monster on my road, first it will be more…

Hi All,Question to the ActiveSky developers:My understanding is that a Wind shear is a sudden change in wind direcion and/or speed causing an aircraft a sudden drop in altitude due to the effects the winds have in the aerodynamics of the plane, correct?Does ActiveSky 6.5 simulates low level wind shears during takeoff/landing? if so, does the FSUIPC wind smoothing option prevents the windshear to occur thus conflicting with this ActiveSky simulated phenomena? (assuming ActiveSky simulates the windshear of course)

Hi,I've seen these kind of error messages the last couple of times starting ASA, are you experiencing any kind of problems with your download servers?Edited to say the problem seems to be solved after installing the latest BETA update to ASA.

  12. Started by Dicko,

I usually import a flight plan into ASA before I fly and when I check the briefing page it always gives the departure and destination temps and winds from the cruise altitude not the elevation of the airport. All other waypoints seem to be correct. Problem is when using ATIS information with (PFE) for the destination airport I always get temps -40's and -50's and sometimes 90 knot winds. These are cruise altitude figures. This only occurs on the briefing page as you can check the weather of the destination and departure airports on the reports page and this seems accurate.Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Hi,A question to help me understand basic ASA design concepts - does ASA know where I am flying with me actually telling it via a flight plan? Therefore if I just start up ASA, then FSX, then fly, will the weather be the real world weather for my starting point?

To Jim Skorna,Jim I haven't read all the topics but I saw several times the advise to stop FSUIPC. I know that ASA uses SIMCONNECT but I need FSUIPC for RC4. At this time I am still sitting on the fence before upgrading to ASA. So I have no experience with ASA. SO what is the situation with ASA , FSUIPC, FSX and RC4 ?If I upgrade in 1 or 2 weeks time will the product be updated with the corrections ?Roger

Hi, I was flying last night from KATL->KMCD and got the strange temperature bug again, where I was cruising normally at FL380 when the external temperature suddenly jumped to 75F (and ISA +129F).This has happened only rarely to me and I can't figure out how to recreate it with any regularity, i've only seen it 3 times over around 30 flights. One thing that was different is that the other two times it happened i refreshed weather and the temperature reverted to what was shown in the station data, but this time that didn't seem to help. This is using the new beta service pack.I noticed a bit of error messages in the simconnect log around the time it occured (about 6am) …

I get a long error message when I hit the "import" tab, with the last lines being:"Method not found: Boolean User_FlightPlan.FlightPlan.get_FlightPlanCancelled()."I have no option then but to close ASA.Could anybody help me solve this?Thank you,Lennard

I recently upgraded my computer. I was having problems with video drivers and etc with fs2004. I had to remove fs2004 and reinstall. I can't get my weather programs to work though. I have read all the posts about reinstalling but i still can't figure it out. I'm very new to windows vista64 so not sure how everything works as far as registry's and removing programs. I can install asa 4.5 but to upgrade all the way to 6.5 doesn't work and that is all I bought were the upgrades. Any help would be great.thanksanthony
