I'm planning on buying and installing ASA tomorrow. I notice that there is a beta that fixes many of the issues people have had challenges with.My question is this...- When I purchase the software tomorrow, does it already have the beta "patches" or do I still need to download and install this?Thanks

Hi @ all!I used since two days ASA (B355) for FSX and I got every time a complete crash of FSX if I reduced my simulation rate from 8x to normal after FSXreloaded the scenery/terrain data/... :-( I tought it's not a problem of ASA, but when I start FSX without ASA and make the same actions everything is all right after reloading scenery/terrain data/... So I think there is any problem with ASA and the reload functionality in FSX.I have installed FS Globals 2008 and used the Beechcraft Baron 58 for my flights. I usually fly a flight plan with GA planes. So I make my flight plan in FSX, save it, then I go to the briefing tab on the ASA window. Click on change flight plan, click import, choose the flight plan, click import, click process and it loads into ASA. Then it ask if you would like to install graphic snap shot textures based on new route? Press ok to install or cancel to leave textures in present state. I have no Idea what this means, I just want to fly with real time weather along my route. I have always just clicked cancel but not sure if I am missing something by not clicking OK. Hi,I did not find an answer to this question in FAQ so I thought I'd ask. I was considering purchasing FE and using it with ASV6.5 but since you just came out with ASA, is it worth getting the FE? Are these two compatible?

I guess a lot of users have reported this.the problem seems to be the multiple layers that are now reported in ASA vs the ones FSBuild expect.The reported FSBuild winds do closely match the lower wind aloft layers, so my guess is that FSBuild is ca;culating winds aloft for say, FL370 when it really corresponds to 7000ft can the developers check this?Thanks,

I keep losing my airspeed indicator about every other flight. Sometimes it will come back after 5 minutes or so. I have all of my failures turned off. Anybody else?

Greetings,I posted a few weeks ago about the main issue I am having with ASA. I recently installed the 355 Beta update, and see no change.I run ASA networked with FSX. I also have ASX on the same machine as ASA, and have run some side-by-side comparisons, which I'll get to in a moment.I have run extensive tests to verify what I am seeing. Briefly, after ASA connects to FSX, and injects the initial weather at the departure airport, it seems to stop working. The weather displayed in FSX remains the same throughout my flight - whether the flight is 15 minutes long, or 8 hours. Just installed the patch. Before the patch i would get OOM error and crash after about an hour. Usually arriving at an airport. now after the patch i don't get OOM but the keyboard locks up and i have to go into task manager and end the program. After uninstalling ASA and going back to ASX i can fly the Cheyenne for hours WITH the weather radar scaning. Guess the beta still needs work.

Hi Jim and Damien this is happening every time now so i thought id report it for some help. Flying into EGNM from anywhere in europe i get strange temperatures, starts off ok at high altitude but during the descent things change quite quickly, not sure when it happens exactly but I remember seeing temps of +1 at 19000ft which is obviously wrong and even though the surface temp is only +4 tonight at EGNM the 4000ft temperature was reporting +18*c which is very very wrong, the aloft temps in ASA on the Report tab seemed to read ok but there not being written to FS. I prefer to fly offline using historical weather data. In the past I have done with with ASV6.5 with no problems at all.However, now with ASA I have found some problems and things I think could be done a little better:i) I just tried to download the weather for a 24 hour period, but ASA only produced ONE file for ONE hour. Hi!Purchased ASA! great program and great enhancement over AS6i am using 2 pcs that may have asa installed while i am flying..Furthermore i have a 3rd pc that i use with widefs while flying (and while wife doesnt need it)The question is how can i have ASA active on these computers? Hi,I re-installed SimConnect on my ASA slave last night (in an effort to sort out a problem I was having with IVAP on another slave) and I'm now getting the "SimConnect cannot be found" error, even though the logging on the main screen tells me SimConnect SP2 is found and instantiated (so the "....cannot be found" in little more than an embuggerance)Any suggestions on how to stop the error?Murray CraneDirector of Development for EuroHarmony VA

What is the difference between the two. I find that using the Auto download demands more resourcefrom my system rather than VATSIM. Yet again I could be wrong.Beta updated works splendid on a fifteen hour flight. KORD-VIDP.No Issues.

Hi,I've been using AS6.5 with FS9 for looong time and I am very happy of it, however lately I did come across some nuisances. I am currently flying between Dubai and Paris and right at OITR station (IRAN) I got the simulation paused and down to desktop. I noticed the same also over Russia in some occasions. This is a hassle especially on long flights where I am not always in front of the PC. One time I got home hoping to be at T/D but I had the simulation down at desktop for one hour and I had to bring it back and unpause in order to go on :( Any help is appreciated.Thanks

Hi Jim...Boy it was a 22 hour struggel getting in here....LOLHaving small problem with Graphics... You see its called Purple Dawn..I have it set up to show very purple dawns and dusks..Along with purpleish haze..That is what I selected and saved anyways....But you see in my the pic it has changed ...And send to FS9Why is it not correctly saving and displaying my texture theme I create?Every time I set one up and save it and fly,its not displaying my senerio I set and saved.And sure enough I exit the sim and go back into Graphics,and all my selections have been changed..But its stilled called Purple dawn...But its NOT.....HmmmmmmSurely I am missing something here as usual.…

Hello,Although I use the Briefing facility and have all other weather sources disabled, ASA will not depict the weather at the destination correctly. This was the metar shown by ASA: KAGC 162053Z 26013G17KT 10SM FEW021 OVC029 M15/M20 A3054 while approaching and landing at the airport there was few coverage at around 3000' while the winds were 13knots but definitely not gusting...Other than this problem, I have no issues with OOM, stuttering or any adverse effects because of ASA. Just wanted to report that ASA build 355, or whatever the beta one is in FS9 mode doesn't include surface wind gusts in the weather depiction whether direct wind control is on or not, and whether fsuipc wind smoothing is on or not. Under the same FSUIPC settings AS6.5 will accurately portray the gusting wind in the same location same conditions.Also I notice there still is large gaps in cloud coverage, the bubble effect is still there. (ie I was flew from CYYZ to KCVG then to KPIT, all through a rather large snowstorm that on radar showed as one contiguous large area of snow, but flying with ASA there were often large gaps showing clear weather, including my approach to K…

After a few weeks of flying with ASA (latest beta), I must say congratulations, this is the best version yet. I have flown over 70 hours including cross Pacific and Atlantic and haven't had a single wind issue (DWC enabled), Weather depiction is much improved, often so realistic it's amazing. Despite my dislike for the Snapshot system I like the new program. Two things I noticed though1. There is often an abrupt switch from cumulus to stratus at high FL. After installing ASA, I start fs9 and ASA, after entering fs9, the ASA said that the update is complete, but when i listen to the ATIS, I find out that the QNH isn't right, the wind is calm, which don't fits the weather report from ASA, it seems that nothing is updated in FS.
