Hi all,Quick question; having both ASA & XGraphics on a remote simconnect-client, I chose to auto-generate 10 snapshots from each of the cloud catagories. My question is, how is this ASA snapshot integration and the later snapshot installation into FSX affected by the Options checked or unchecked in XGraphics? Do the snapshots contain any other XGraphics textures besides clouds, such as sun, moon, runways, tarmacs, etc...? Or do these now have to be installed manually from XGraphics?Please clarify the XGraphics Options checkboxes and ASA snapshot relationship.Thanks and regards,

Hello,I have known problem with wind shifts on high FL's. In some sitiuations wind is changing direction by 180 degress in just 2 seconds ( when wind is strong this results with overspeed or stall). Its impossible to fly in this conditions.Is there any chance to fix that?This happens with EVERY airplane - payware, freeware and default.Regards,Chris

Dear HiFi:Recently upgraded from ASX to ASA after being a happy user of ASX. The upgrade was very easy and everything was working ok. It worked well for several weeks at the same system I was running ASX.Since couple of days, when I start ASA and after the "Hurricane" splash screen progress bar finishes, it immediately go to the task bar minimized. After that, I am unable to maximize or restore ASA. When I click the ASA in the task bar minimized window, it becomes active ("pushed") but remains minimized. No window is restored. I am flying a lot in Europe lately and the weather is not that good. So quite often I have to land in IFR conditions. But the weird thing is, that when I am nearing the airport I always can see it VERY clearly in the distance. I just landed on LFPG. While passing it on my way to the approach point it looked completely clear over there. I could see everything. I could see miles and miles in the distance and see the ground without any problems. But when I was on final there was fog all over the place and I could hardly see the runway... That's not right. If there is fog down there, I should have been able to see the ground earlier on.This happens all the time. As if the wea…

Hi Just bought ASA today. Downloaded fine and registered fine. But whilst ASA loads i get a message that an internet connection could not be found and it will automatically revert to the offline mode. A few seconds later the program crashes.I do not have a broadband connection and need to use dial up so i am not permanenlty connected to the net.Can I run ASA in an offline mode? Using a dial up connection, how long or rather how large is the file that is being downloaded before the entire start up process is completed? I do realise that you mention the recommended requirements are for a broadband connection but this is simply not possible at the moment.Does this mean my AS…

I am involved in setting up a number of canned training flights for our VA (Greenbrier Virtual Aviation). Since I want to standardize things to the greatest extent possible for new hires, I am setting things up using the default FS-9 and FSX weather engines. It has been some years since I was last subjected to the vagueness and weak kneed weather engines in those two sims. I have been using HiFi Sim weather engines since before Active Sky 6.5 and am presently using ASA. What a difference a good weather engine makes :( . Thanks again guys for a good job well done.

Hello,I use ASA Build 355 together with FS2004, WinXP32, Nvidia Gforce8800GTX.When I load a flight plan via the briefing folder and then switch to the MAP folder the program crashes to the desktop.It does not matter if FS2004 is already running or not. Tried different flight plans, no help.Before the crash a message appears, saying that the program is closing now, some work may not be saved.Any clue?Best regards.Frank

Hi, I posted a message here about a popup I am receiveing concerning simconnect and FSX SP1/SP2. ASA was not installed as a client. Is simconnect required if you are not running ASA on a client machine? If it is, then I can understand needing to install the simconnect msi.The advice I got was to reinstall FSX and SP2 or uninstall SP2 and reinstall it again. There is nothing wrong with my FSX install. Although it has not been installed on the same drive as the OS, the installation along with SP2 is installed correctly.If simconnect is not required for a non-client install, then the problem is with ASA, not FSXASA loads fine and even states in the message area that Simcon…

Hi,I use ASA Build 355 together with FS2004, WinXP32, Nvidia Gforce8800GTX.Today I performed a flight from KATL to KBOS with the PMDG 737-800. I loaded the flightplan into ASA, using online weather.Everything went well until the final approach. At about 1500 FT on ILS 33L the sim crashed displaying the error msg g3d.dll.I flew to KBOS many times before and did never experience a crash to desktop.Can anybody help me here?Kind regardsFrank

Just wondering why in the world it takes so dern long for ASA to start up.I'm running an AMD XP2600+ (2.08GHz), 2GB PC3200 (400HMz) memory, an XFX nVidia GF6800 Xtreme AGP8x card, Windows XP SP1 and my OS is completely stripped down to essential services and modules. I've got 20MB/s downstream & 5MB/s upstream bandwidth on a broadband cable internet connection. My computer is unusually fast for it's specs - the fastest 2MHz computer I've ever used.I start ASA before anything else (after disabling NOD32 Anti-virus and killing egui.exe, the realtime NOD32 interface). I only get cumulus clouds appearing within a short range of the plane although i have set to Overcast, and cloud draw and cloud coverage both on Max in FSX. Other clous like cirrus are in view 360deg and extending to the horizon. Also the cumulus i fly thru then quickly have disappeared when I look back.I am sure that when I first used ASA I could see cumulus all round upto the horizon if I set to Overcast.If I only use FSX weather and not ASA then cumulus fill the sky and remains visible throughout.Second query I have is regarding Visibilty options. All,I had an issue with the simconnect dll using FSX/SP2. Not a big deal as ASA seemed to be working fine as far as I could tell in the short period that I have been using it.The reason for this topic was to let you guys know that Damian personally worked through this for me and had it solved in 15 minutes. I am sure they are all busy with other more important pressing issues, and I think he noticed I was a little frustrated with some of the answers I was getting on this forum, so he worked with me on this and got it solved.Now that is great service. I have been using ASA for some time now without any major problem, but since today I have a major problem with ASA.When starting ASA I get an exception error it is saying:"Font Trebuchet MS does not support style Regular". The system gives me the choice to press continue or quit, if I press continue I can see in the task manager that ASA is running but I get nothing displayed.so I wonder what has happened from yesterday till today. The only thing I noticed when I closed my PC yesterday was that some updates were waiting to be installed. I am new to Active Sky and generally I want to fly real time weather situations as downloaded. However, I am still practicing landings. So I would like to create a situation where I can be assured there is no wind at all at my destination surface (and sometimes departure) airport. Am I right in thinking I can save a weather config file with no surface wind and drag it to my destination on the map? I do not want to change anything else about the weather-just surface wind to keep me from blowing off course during approach. Hello!One weird error in ASA is bugging me: ASA makes FS9 screen blink once. I can't say when it really happens, but I know its not happening when ASA is closed. Once it happened even while in manual refresh. But then the 2nd time not... So I can't really pinpoint the reason.Any ideas?
