Hey Folks,Our simulator is supported by three networked PCs. All interfacing is done through WideFs. We are planning to add a fourth PC to handle Active Sky Advanced. Since the Asa PC must acquire an IP from Internet provider and connect up to weather station, how do you connect with the FS network to stream in weather? I was assuming a wireless and Ethernet port on the Asa PC. Are there other options?ThanksRick

I just purchased the Activesky X and Graphics Bundle and have tryed everything including a total reload of FS-X to get it to work. The load process gets snagged and presents the following warning: "XGaugeWizard has encountered a problem and needs to close" there is also a box that appears immediately after that says "Error 1722. THere is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A program run as part of the setup did not finish as expected. Action: NewCustomAction2, location:...\XGaugeWizard.exe". (see attachements please)AutoRunStarter also instantly closes when I attempt to use it to load the program. I have temporarily removed the following add-on aircraft: LVLD 76…

Hi folks, after installing B355 patch my ASA is relative stable and accurate. But sometimes gets strange metar like that in the attached image. As you can see it reports ASA metar and real metar in EHEH. ASA reports a completely wrong winds 11304KT. It might be 11004KT. I think this appends when ASA interpolated data. Thanks and regards Rob

I just purchased a couple of days ago the Active Sky X and X Graphics programs. Wow, talk about getting your monies worth. After spending the better part of a day working with it, it's starting to fall into place. I like to fly IFR. I like to fly down to at least 200' and a half mile, but am having problems setting the surface visibility in. It works pretty good to start with the real weather and then start cranking it down. No problem in lowering the ceiling, but I am having trouble getting the surface visibility to accept anything less that 1 SM. Is there a way or place to set a RVR value in? or set a fraction of a mile in? I haven't tried it yet, but using mete…

I know that ASA interacts with GEPro and I was wondering if there is anything that I should do with or to Flight Environment to ensure that I am getting the most realistic textures for my real-world weather. Does ASA call textures from FE? Do any settings that I have previously made in FE alter what I see after loading ASA weather? Nicholas.

Really weird issue. I started losing power. Not an icing issue or mixture. The plane just loses power. Never experience anything like this before until ASA was installed. Flying the sf260.Fuel flow drops in the toilet. Then magically I get my power back. This is not an issue with the plane nor the pilot (-:RegardsBob G

Over the past few days all my clouds have become a curious (and not very realistic to my eyes) mixture of black and white:I use Flight Environment for clouds, so maybe the cause is there - but I have never seen this before, and haven't knowingly changed any settings to either AS6 or FE. Any ideas why this is happening? Thought I'd try for a solution here first anyway,Thanks,Martin

Hi guys,Just found another problem,It seems that whatever the weather (be it CAVOK or OVC) when I press the Install Graphics Snapshot and Install Ground textures it always installs the same type regardless of weather.Today it is mostly CAVOK but as ever it is still installing Universal Graphics and BKN ground textures.I have started using the GEPro program (which seems to link into AS6) to do it.Is this a known issue (hopefully with a known fix :( )ThanksNeil

Hey guys at hifi. recently i've been checking out ur posts and there are a plenty number of ppl who r unhappy with this product and some of them have even requested a refund. may i know whats taking u guys soooooooo long to release an SP1. we r not asking u to release a perfect product in SP1. whatever fixes have been made so far may be released as SP1. that would ease the tension among customers. further fixes can be released as SP2, SP3, etc. this is how it had been in all ur products if i'm right. so i suggest u guys release whatever fixes u have made immediately. JSkorna, ppl r really agitated by the one line answers u give in ur responses. when somebody asks a questi…

Hi,I have tried everything I can think of to stop these stupid massive wind changes which always ruin my long haul flights. Like today, was cruising and climbing quite happily.. doing .854 and then BAM.. my a/c is doing 200 knots stalling and I'm descending rapidly it was unrecoverable too and this happens all the time and it's so frustrating.. I've trawled the websites.. people have mentioned changing this.. changing that.. I've tried a lot of different things and nothing has worked I'd rather you guys just told me parrot fashion what to do to set myself up, because whatever it is I am doing just won't work.....I've tried fiddling with the settings, and nothing that I t…

Hi,I have had a few flights now with ASA and almost every flight I have made there is a short period where the WHITEOUT problem rears its ugly head. I havent had this problem since the very early days of Activesky weather programs. Is there a setting that I have made that may cause this or indeed one that cures it.Forgot to add I am using FS9thanksKeith

Hello! First - many-many thanks for HiFi team! ASA is a wonderful. However, I got a problem with weather depiction equivalence to the actual conditions, when FS will start generate thunderstorm where METAR report not contain "TS" code, but clouds info include "CB". As is known it's simple result of differences rules of various meteoservices. In the Europe, Russia and some other countries this situation looks bad - TS around in the simulator, when real skys is calm! (Well, yet who knows, may be before violent tempest... :))How can I tune this parameter, that thunderstorm not appear without TS? I hope it's possible, because was correct in AS 6.5.Your sincerely, Alexei Korote…

Hi,Most of the METAR's contain a maximum of 3 different cloud layers. But ASA offers the possibility to create 20! different cloud layers. Why is that?Is there perhaps some hidden feature behind this slider to create more realistic cloudscapes, also with only 2 METAR cloud layers?Does anyone have an idea about it?Regards, Hans Wijnroks.

Hi,As a Asv6 customer, I bought ASA upgrade yesterday through your website. Download of Build 316, installation & activation was oke. I then fired up FSX (or had ASA fire up FSX) and ASA connected to FSX. As I have both FSX&FS2004 (The sim with most addons and the one I fly mostly in) on my PC, next thing I tried is to make ASA work with FS9. Untill now I have not succeeded in making ASA depicting weather in FS9.This is what I have done sofar:-Read through this forum for post with simular problems. Some posts mentioned FSuipc upgrade to V3.85, upgrade to Beta build 355 and looking into the issue from the Hifi support. At the time of first installation FSuipc.dll V3…

Hi,Just to let you know I'm still getting black-screen crashes (module FSUIPC.dll) even with the BETA 355 update installed. No problems with this before installation of ASA two days ago.FS9 won't run for longer than 30 minutes without a crash if ASA is running. No issues if ASA not running...Cheers

Hi Jim,Ok - hopefully we can get to the bottom of this issue. It's been plauging me since AS6.5. In 6.5 it could be remedied by disallowing icing in the options. In ASA it seems to be beyond my control, which makes it impossible to fly with autopilot because when icing occurs it sends the aircraft into a dive. Here is some information on my situation: I do not have a registered version of FSUIPC. (All FSUIPC weather settings are set to default, as recommended) I do not use PMDG or other payware aircraft. I use almost all POSKY & iFDG My MCI is set at 0 and I still get icing. I use shift/h and even sometimes have de-icing on when it ices up. But regardless, it shouldn'…

I previously enabled visibility and wind smoothing and the direct weather control with it so it would work. I'm now using FSUPIC for that and would prefer to turn DWC off so I don't get the "pop up weather" anymore. I can't seem to figure out how to turn it off now though. Where is the option to turn it off? I'm using build 355.

Hi, I am a big fan of Active Sky products. I just upgraded to ASA. I have not had much time on the sim with it but My 1st "long" flight Boston to LA lasted 40min then I got the FSAX has experienced a fatal error. That was with Wilco's Airbus 380. I then tried the same flight with Level-D 767 and that lasted 30 so mins. So I tried FSX without ASA and flew the 380 for an hour 1/2 with no problems. Is ASA causing this? I have not downloaded the Beta patch yet. Here is what Vista said: 1st:Problem signatureProblem Event Name: APPCRASHApplication Name: fsx.exeApplication Version: 10.0.61637.0Application Timestamp: 46fadb14Fault Module Name: atc.dllFault Module Version: 10.0.616…

Is there any process that outlines how to get saved weather to load? I had saved a weather scheme a couple of days ago to fly at a later time. The weather I was trying to save was around the upper midwest area. To make a long story short, KORD had heavy snow and 1 mile visibility. When I went back to call up this weather all I get is an overcast layer. There's no snow and visibility is at least 8 miles. What's worse is weather service keeps reporting conditions clear with no weather. The process I use in ASA is to load up ASA, click the button to start FS9, once FS9 is loaded choose my plane/route, and load up the flight. Once on stand at the gate the weather is …

Hi Guys,Even though I was going to wait for SP1 to be released before upgrading, I could no longer resist so I finally bit the bullet and upgraded to ASA.Here are my first impressions:Overall, ASA is simply amazing. I didn't think I would get another upgrade for FS9, and am truly grateful to the HiFi team!I run ASA using the ASG textures and GEPro for ground textures. The interface works flawlessly and it is a joy to use.A few problems:1) I still get the icing problems when flying my favorite aircraft. I have to set both icing sliders to 0% to prevent my aircraft from randomly icing up (even though the anti icing - which is simulated to perfection with the Maddog - i…

Hello,I assume that Hifi is aware of the new or rather sort of new TAF format and is subsequently working on a fix with ASA. If I use FSRealTime and put myself in the air, time compression or whatever will result in a TAF generated METAR for my destination. The decoding is incorrect and it is coming up with all kinds of interesting weather.Copied below for information.Destination (KBHM): KBHM 231148Z 22500KT 32 1/2SM BKN282 M03/M07 A3053 RMK ADVANCED INTERPOLATION RMK FORCED TO DESTINATIONKBHM 230525Z 2306/2406 36005KT P6SM FEW250I am using ASA with Build 355 installed in FS9 on windows XP, though my FS version and windows version are not relevant here.Cheers
