I am using AVs6 on a second PC, linked via WideFS, problem is the monitor is rather small 12" x 9". When I need to view the Options page I cannot see the bottom 2 boxes on this page. Is there any way I can change the resolution of the Options page?In any case 've had ASv6 for over 2 years and it's fantastic, would not want to be without it.Ken

At random times the all the clouds just change! Sometimes they even go 2d especially at high altitudes. At first I thought it was timed with weather update but then I started timing it and its random. I also no longer see wind speed on some add-on aircraft panels and VCs, such as F1's Citation Mustang. The wind direction arrow tracks correctly but wind speed is always 0kts. I have the beta installed and didn't see the speed issue till now, the cloud thing has been with me since purchase.

Hello all,I was wondering if you could help out. I recently purchased ASA (Build 316) and upgraded to the Beta (Build 355). With this update to the beta version, ASA now crashes on during startup. The report I get from Windows is: I notice that it fails every time, immediately after I see the status line, Having read the release notes that say, I've started down this debugging path:1) Make double sure that I "run as administrator". No joy.2) I proceeded to stop my AVG 8.0 Free, and reinstall ASA beta. No joy.3) I added an exception to Windows firewall for ASA_Exec.exe. No joy.4) I then uninstalled AVG 8.0 and reinstalled ASA beta. No joy.5) With AVG still uninst…

To ASA Developers,Cyclone Hamish is a cat 4 storm off the coast of Townsville Aussie. ASA is not picking up the Cyclone. I know with FSX and ASX I picked up Hurricanes on our side but never got the chacne with ASX to hunt cyclones. With AS6.5 I was able to hunt both systems. Does ASA have trouble depicting and picking up Cyclones considering we call them hurricanes. Should I be able to pic up cyclone conditions and depictions using FSX and or Fs9?

ASA has been working perfectly until today but now it wont function properly.When I activate the desktop shortcut the programme loads but wont display the opening screen.Instead it appears in the taskbar and will not open when I click on it with the mouse.I have reinstalled ASA a couple of times but the problem persists.Can someone please help!?Thanks.BTW my operating system is Vista 64.Frank

Hello,it happens often that metars from nearby stations differ by time, which causes strange weather depiction.e.g.LFCR 071323Z 31014KT 10SM CLR 09/00 A2900LFDH 071100Z 32005KT 10SM BKN008 09/08 A2900reported through ASA/fs9 today on a flight from EDDF to LEMG0ther metars got similar differences (time). Can't this be sorted out?regardsuli

I've just installed ASA on my FS9 system and am a little confused by the graphics. Where do I get the snapshots? Would Flight Environment work well with ASA? Can I copy the graphics from ASV6.5 which is installed on different machine than that on which ASA is installed?

Sorry guys, another question!I have set my Upper vis limit to 200nm (does this override the setting in the FS9 control panel? - just in case, I set it to 150nm which is the max).I always get this thick layer of haze on the horizon and never get clear vis which enables me to see the horizon.Also the ground is always covered in a haze layer. This is realistic for lower levels, and even for polluted days, but it is happening on every flight, regardless of which GEpro textures I have installed.Is there a way of getting clearer vis up high?Thanks once more,Neil

Hi guys, I purchased ASA a few months ago, its a fantastic product, but I was having issues with sudden wind changes resulting in significant speed increases/decreases depending on the change of wind. I use ASA in conjunction with the PMDG MD-11 (FSX), I installed your interim update beta a few days ago. So far, I have not experienced any bizarre wind changes since the patch has installed in the MD-11 after about 9hrs of use. Although, I did have it happen to me a few times still in the Level-D 767. I purchases ASA as an upgrade and I receive an error on installation that it can't find my original Active Sky installation. I went ahead and un-installed everything and even cleaned out the registry as best I could. Installed Active Sky X - worked fine - then tried to install ASA and I get the same failure code 202 - Upgrade eligibility check faled. ASX must be installed.Again - I have a purchased copy of ASX and ASA upgrade.Please helpTony :(

Hi,I had nothing but problems with ASA so I uninstalled it. I reinstalled ActiveSky 6.5. Now all of a sudden ActiveSky Graphics seems to be running a muck. Look at my task manager. How do I fix this?.

Hello Everyone,This is just a quick update to let everyone know where we stand with the official SP1 patch.We are working through some final issues and hope to have an internal beta of our next build incorporating these last changes within the next few days. We are also working with PMDG to solve the S-turn wind issues. I just purchased ASA and got the key and dl link. Download went fine. Went to install to my new Used computer for scenery building for both sims. Started ASA and right away got a invalid license and didnt even get a chance to enter my license code. Please help. Order Id##232766

I'm up to about 16 hours now trying to get ASX to work with FSX. I tried uninstalling SP1 and reinstalling, but SP1 installation fails. Both FSX and ASX will run separately but ASX can't talk to FSX. I decided to uninstall everything and start over, but I cannot get ASX or Xgraphics to uninstall. I updated my windows installer and still no luck. I'm no programmer. Why can't this stuff just work! I have been browsing the forum and see that everyone is having the same cloud popping problem that I have. I wont comment on that since it seems it's just a matter of waiting for a SP (I hope).The other problem I have, which is also somewhat of a deal-breaker is that in nearly every circumstance, I always have clouds mushrooming out of the ground. It seems like it's always happening no matter what the weather condition and no matter what the altitude the airport is at. I have used ASA and FSX three times, two of them with strong xwinds. The winds were constant during the final approach but (in both cases) when I reached 500 feet the winds were reduced from 25kts to 6kts in just two seconds, so I had to adjust my horizontal path seconds before touchdown, is this a bug? or this is how it is in real life?

Hi guys,I've read quite alot of topics that seem to be negative regarding ASA - I bought it a few weeks ago, and although i've been away for a week recently I've used it quite alot. I don't use 3D clouds because my PC lags alot with them, so I can't comment on them. The winds seem good, and the windshear and turbulence on approach makes the landings a little more challenging which is what I've been looking for since I got FS2004.The only problems i've had is the temperature rising as i've climbed away - Realistically it should go down I think, but I guess that'll be fixed soon. A bitof background:I'm running FSX/Accel on a Vista x64 system. I have a separate computer, running XP Pro, that I use for 'utility' programs such as ASA. I have the SDK SP2 installed on both, as well as WideFS.I was running ASX for a while remotely from the XP system, and it worked fine. I've upgraded to ASA, and now it will not connect to FSX. When ASA starts, it shows the 'SimConnect Instantiated' message, then proceeds to process the weather. An 'FSX Connected" message does not appear in ASA or FSX, and FSX does not receive any weather. I've tried launching ASA with both SP1 and SP2 SimConnect options, as well as alternating between ASA and FSX for which starts …

If SimConnect Client (SP2) is installed, but the SimConnect Client (SP1) is NOT you get an error message, it still works fine, but you get the error message.

Hi,Maybe this is a question for the ASA programmers, but not sure. I was just curious how Wake Turbulence is accomplished and injected into FSX? I am not completely sure but I did not think FSX out of the box modeled this. It just struck me, since this is such a dynamic event, how do they do this? I read in the manual that best option is to set Weather Off in FSUIPC, now, this is FSX, DWC is enabled, then why I get sometimes overspeed and crazy winds throwing me off course? is this a bug with the FSX version? because I never experienced this using FS9. Im using the BETA patch, the Level D 767 and Windows XP SP3 with FSX with SP2 (no accel) Simconnect SP2 version.

Hi,Is there an option in ASX to Manually Refresh the AI as there was in ASv6?The reason I ask is that after ASX has loaded in fully, I am being directed to an Active runway by ATC ( parked at a gate) only to find out that the AI planes ( using WOAI btw) are landing and departing from the other end....!!!Slightly annoying.Thanks.Tom Liboo

Hi,I wanted to note something here just for the record, and to find out if it's something the HiFi team is working on or not:In all previous versions of ActiveSky for FS2004 there had been an issue with the rendering order of clouds based on their actual relative locations in the sim (i.e. darker clouds in the distance suddenly being rendered "in front of" lighter colored clouds which resided in the foreground, thus ruining the sense of depth and distance for the viewer). This seems to have been addressed in ASA to a large degree for the lower level clouds, as I am no longer experiencing this issue to such a large degree between non-cirrus cloud types.I am getting it 100%…
