Dear Hifisim,I am very pleased with your software but unfortunately since yesterday I experience major problems with ASA. :( Everytime I try to import a FSX flight plan ASA will stop working. In the title bar of ASA the worisome error of "Not Responding" is displayed. I have reinstalled ASA allready two times, but with no improvement. :( The import of flight plans worked very well before where it normally took about 20 to 30 seconds to display the weather report. Today I noticed that the HiFi ASA FSUIPC dll is not the same as the current version which I have installed in FS9. My question, Should not the FSUIPC dll be the same in each location/folder? I changed mine today to reflect the registered copy which I have in FS9. Vincent

Over the past couple of years that I have used your product, this problem happens on most of my flights.I am at FL330 over PNH (Amarillo TX) and the winds are forecast to be about 230/90 but I am flying with a tailwind of 055/23. This is absurb, the wind never blows from the ENE at flight levels over the mid-continent.Here is a picture, worth a thousand words of frustration (of course I tried to refresh weather but any fix would be appreciated):

I run Active Sky v6.5 for FS 2004.I think it is possible to create and save certain weather situations which pre-set the wind, clouds, temperature, etc. What I am looking for is slightly different: for some airport I would like to pre-set only the wind direction, and have all the other paramters (wind speed, temperature, pressure, clouds, visibility) loaded from the current weather data downloaded through ASV. Is that possible, "fixing" only wind speed and having all other parameters set by the latest weather data update? Thanks for any hints.Chris

Hi everyone,I'm new to the forum and have a question regarding ASX. On a clear day, I will have a layer of clouds or haze between 4-6000 feet. It makes it look like a cloudy day even though its not. If I run the FSX weather engine, its bright, sunny,and clear. Does anybody else have this problem and if so how can we fix it? Otherwise, ASX is a great porduct!! Thanks for your help.Ken

Previously I have followed some other posters advice on how to set up FSUICP's weather settings to try to eliminate the punishing wind shifts I was suffering at high altitude. I have not used the Beta2 pach long enough to know if these issues have been resolved but I am interested in hearing from Hi Fi if they have any recomended settings or if they suggest just turning the weather functions off in FSUICP now? I am using registered version 4 if it makes any difference.Thanks in Advance,Robert Thomason

Hi, Firstly, many thanks for a great product, it really does add alot more immersion to FSX. I'm having an issue with the landing lights on the PMDG MD-11, I have done research prior to this as I'm aware this is a common problem, and that the easiest way to solve this is by not installing the beacon and landing light textures for xgraphics, which I did (not install) when I was installing all the other ones. However, for some reason the landing light reflection no longer appears on taxiways/runways, thats including landing/taxi/runway turnoff. Any additional help would be appreciated. Hi to all, I have just bought ASA, and I am happy with it, thermals and vertical air is just amazing and so real, but I have a problem, I generally fly in Ecuador, where we only have 4 weather stations, SEQU; SEGU; SEMT and SELT, their are international airports. My problem is when I fly to any airport out of any of them, for example SECU, I always get for example 200 00, always wind calm, and it happen in all airport without METAR information, is any way to make the METAR of SEGU working in SECU for example or another closest?, I don

I use FS9 and AS6.5 and I do not see many screenshots of ASA with FS9 and it have not convinced me to upgrade. What's the difference between those two and can you post screenshots in KBOS in both software. Doesn't matter the time but pick a day and use download weather. Hi all,I'm hoping someone will be able to help me out with this as there is a large cloud of confusion in my mind that's bugging me a little!I have AS6.5, which I've been happily using for some time now and am very pleased with. However, what is causing me a problem is that I run AS during my flight planning phase, when I'm getting all the preflight paperwork together. With loading calculations, fuel figures and performance calculations, all of this can often take me about half an hour. I finally made the decision to purchase the full edition of ASA and I'm ver happy with it thus far :( .But I was wondering if I should re-install XGraphics into FSX as I just completed a re-install of it.Some say I should add XGraphics, and other say don't bother with it as ASA complete comes with everything.But I do have to say that my textures aren't that good as when I had XGraphics installed.Maybe someone here can educate me on what I need to do to get the best performance from ASA.Thanks for any help rendered Ludo Lambrechts

Hi Jim,As requested, here are some screenshots from a flight this morning from EDDH - EDDK (FS9)To start with, I started ASA, imported a flight plan, set the graphics and the GEPro graphics, reset AI, etc....................then started FS9. I waited 10 minutes for it to all stabilise, and then started up the aircraft which took another 15 minutes.Here was the weather from EDDH (notice the high level OVC layer)Here is a screenshot just before pushback of how this weather (including OVC layer) was depictedDuring the flight I took lots of shots (can't upload them all due to the file size restrictions). ...so good. Much better using PMDG MD-11. Finally, no s-turns. Only anomoly I had (and am still having) is that the wind speed and direction are hunting 3-5 degrees and 2-5 KTS very rapidly. All options configured per sticky at the top of the forum.EDIT: With all turbulence and thermal effects disabled through FSX, the wind stabilizes, however the s-turns reappear.

This is not a show-stopper at all but just a minor query. SP1 Beta 2 installed and with Vatsim downloads ticked. Using FSX:After entering a basic FP and refreshing the weather I no longer see "downloading Vatsim weather" mentioned on the Main page. It certainly used to report doing this with ASX but now with ASA it doesn't mention it. Is it actually doing it but just no longer mentioning it? The weather I'm getting appears to match what ATC have most of the time but without that confirmation message I'm just not sure if it's grabbed Vatsim weather or not! Like I said, it's no major panic but it used to be comforting to know it had actually done it. TIA

Im experianceing CTD's of my XP ops. For the last week ive been running different settings to see if one is a problem including checking my add ons. The add ons i have arent a conflict or cause this type of CTD. Went back to my notes on ASA and my flight logs. Seems there is patteren of this CTD when ASA live map is used with gauge and or main program. Im running the org install build of ASA. does the beta update address any issues like im trying to describe?

All, Been a flight simmer since the SubLogic days and using FS9 / AS6.5 since they were released... This weekend I installed FSX and have been looking at my weather options... As a real world GA pilot - I have been in turbulent conditions where you had to use two hands just to tune a radio... I have landed a Cessna 172 in a gusting 23 knot crosswind that had more adrenilin pumping than when I skydive... In real life the weather can kill you... I never really came across this kind of weather in FS9 as the weather has always been pretty mild or tame... I've noticed in ASA it always only shows maximum 10 nm in visibily if it says cavok or 9999 in visibility - that results in very low visibility when in high altitude. is this a bug? to be fixed? And i did set visibility to 100 nm in the other menu.

Hi- running asv6.5 on FSX, Vista 64, when I try to print it comes back with " run-time error '482': printer error " and asv6.5 crashes and closes on its own.
