I am using ASA with the beta update in FSX. The update took care of smoothing the winds. The only thing I notice is that sometimes when you are climbing thru clouds and rain is that the rain will continue even after you climb above the overcast. Another thing is that sometimes you get temp and pressure bumps where you hit a void of standard day pressure and temp at high altitudes. This results in EGT temps exceeding there limits in jet engines. Only lasts a few minutes and then temp and pressure goes back to normal. Other than that it works great. John

Hi,I'm owner of the ASA ASv6 upgrade and I'm wondering if it is possible to uninstall asv6 after installing ASA, as I noticed that ASA looks while loading for the ASv6 folder.I have limited hd space and as I'm no longer using ASv6 I'd like to uninstall it...Thanks beforehand for the help

currently in the same with asa loaded, kjfk is reporting all different winds. now its at 220 degrees, yet the latest metar online shows 170. when fsx first loaded it had winds from 300 degreesI dont get it. I loaded a flight plan, and started fsx. do I need to hit refresh after fsx is loaded and the weather is set? I usually just advance time in fsx so it "takes"Does that not work anymore?Alex

Good afternoon, I have installed the ASA in both FS9 version as the FSX, but each simulator is different harddrive, (C and D). My question is: Every time I start the ASA he calls the online activation. Is this really normal? thanks for attention.

Hi!I have recently installed ASA (version 11.0.0.316) and used it successfully for a few days together with FSX. However, since yesterday I am not being able to use it, because after the initial screen reaches the point where it says is "Loading Simulator Interface", I do not see anything on screen. I'm using AS 6.5 build 552. When I set visibility for less than 1 mile when writing a Metar string it is decoded as still 1 mile. However I noticed the meters value does change. I write the visibility for example as 1/2SM. Henry Hatch

I have followed the installation instructions in the respective manuals and I cannot get either program to connect with FSX or FS9 on the server. I have WideFS running well and two other addons installed on the client PC which are working fine (FSCommander 8.5 & FSFK). When I try to connect to FSX with ASA I get "Simconnect Client SP2 not found" and with X PAX in FS9 I get FSUIPC not right version. I have tried all the troubleshooting and checked everything more than once. I don't know what is wrong. Server OS is Vista Home Premium 64 bits, client is XP. Thanks,Walt

I'm using ASA B394 in FS9.1.Before starting FS I start ASA and get that to the stage where I can view the report screen. Ususally the station it is set to is from the previous FS session. I then minimise ASA to the taskbar.Then I start AlacrityPC to go through its process and start FS, which loads up at my default airport. I select the airport I'm going to start from if it is not my default and then select the aircraft I'm going to use (invariably one of the PMDGs). What I have noticed, if I'm not starting from my default airport, is that when I bring ASA up from the taskbar after a few minutes at my starting airport, to check the weather, it is still locked to my default…

Hi all.Does anyone experienced ASA CTD after clicking on Map icon? This happen to me everytime after B394 update. Just after clicking a message popups about "Program is middle of something........." and ASA is gone.I'm running ASA on second PC via wideFS. FS2004 is on primary PC. On this second PC is Win XP with all service packs and few utils like vRoute etc.Michal Salek.

I have a problem trying to get XG SP4 to install. When running the installed, I get Error 1310. Error writing to file:D:\Config.Msi\XXXXXXXX.rbf. Verify that you have access to that directory.The XXXX is a different filename each time. When I click Retry, it give me the same error, but with a different filename. And it's not an immediate display of an error. Anyone come across this? I'm running Vista64 and all necessary directories are shared. Thanx!-Rick

Hello all,I just upgraded from Active Sky X to ASA and so far love it!! One problem though, I flew from my home town KORF to Richmond and noticed planes were taking off and landing at the same runway #16. Which is normal, but then there were other planes landing at the opposite end #34 which is not normal???? I thought maybe a bug, so I refreshed my weather data and the flew to KRDU and the same problem with rwy 23R and 5L. Same scenario as before BUT this does not happen with FSX basic wetaher engine. What am I doing wrong? Has anyone else experienced this problem? Please help!!

Just want to give a "hats off" to those who created this new program!!.......I held off for a while as I was perfectly happy with the v6.5, and not sure if the new ASA was any real upgrade......well, I am VERY pleased with this new purchase, the visuals are totally different and realistic beyond belief..........(I have a 42" monitor with a robust system, so it is a super experience flying around now).........For anyone one the fence as to making the buy, I can tell you it is worth the upgrade in spades!!..............Thanks to all involved with this creation :( ........Dick Leonard, Tucson

I have worked on my latest addon, ASX, for the last 6 hours trying everything I found to read except one. That's un/reinstall FSX. I ain't going there. Maybe!. I have FSX with SP2, Fusipc, WideFS, 3 Payware a/c, UTX, GEX, Cloud9, FScommander on a second computer, and all works ok with the current setup...not sure how many of these use simconnect. Along comes ASX and just can't find simConnect. My current setup has FSX on drive "D", ASX finds home on drive C. My question is : Can we use ASE + GEPro in a networked system ? Such as using ASE + GEPro in a computer and FS9 in another ? I think that to be able to use GEPro in a non FS9 computer I will have to have the GEPro folder setup to be shared in the network. Thanks Carlos.

Hi,I've been having this issue pop up my last 3 flights and it makes it very difficult to do any flights. Upon first loading of FSX, the weather depiction is correct, as are the temp, pressure, and wind. However, by the time I am taxiing (maybe 10 mins later) the visual weather depiction (clouds) is still fine, but the pressure, winds, and temp revert to FSX ISA default. I refreshed the weather and it did nothing. I have DWC turned off for the PMDG 747 (even with the new beta, still get S-turns) and this is the only time I have seen this prob. I attached a screenshot showing the ASA weather and what FSX is giving me to illustrate the prob.Thanks, Sheldon

Hi-I successfully have ASA running on a separate computer and it works fine. On the server machine, I always get a command line window that say's 'Simconnect Diagnostic Output'. Is this normal?Thanks,Mark

Is there a way to change the temperature to fahrenheit instead of celsius?

I've searched for this, and can't find any answers. I hope someone can help. The problem is that winds aloft drop to about 18 or 20 kts, which is much lower than what they should be.I plan a flight (departure and destnation cities don't matter, because this happens on multiple routes). I then load the FS9 flight plan into Active Sky. I start flying.I climb to FL370 and initially the winds aloft being sent to FS9 are accurate, like around 70 kts. But after a few minutes, they drop to 18 or 20 kts. I remember from the forecast that the winds at my altitude (FL370) are higher, about 70 kts. Jim - Thank you for your repsonse on Pete Dowsons page. Your suggestion is to uninstall Acceleration and reinstall SP1 from MS, and then Acceleration. I understand, but have one quesiton. On control panel under ADD/DELETE PROGRAMS it shows Microsaoft Flight Simulator X: Acceleration Size 232.00 MB..Flight Simulator X Service Pack 1 ..Flight Simulator XThe only uninstall it allows is the first line. The two addins below say "This update cannot be removed".By uninstalling the first line, am I only removing Acceleration or the entire FSX program?

I aim to buy Active Sky Advanced.Im using dual computers XP, FS9, WideFS, Squawkbox3. All current setup works fine.Can I put basically only ActiveSky-textures in the FS-computer. If I upgrade from AS 6.5 to ASA does this over write AS 6.5 or can I run either program still independently?Since I have seen a lot of problems with ASA particularly for PMDG users I am not willling to give up 6.5 yet.ThanksGreg
