Hi GuysLike the title says, had this problem on ASX, but an update corrected the faults, upgraded to ASA last week, now the old problems are back, I see from the varied posts that this is a known fault. :( Problem 1: FL340 temp -19c (works great) 2nm later +48c aircraft plummets towards earth 17000 ft a min, :( :( Problem 2: FL340 wind, new area/download of weather, wind moves from 210 to 270 degrees and back continuously, wind speed 10 to 95 also continuous again plane uncontrollable and this time overturned. Any news on patches or updates for ASA, I will go back to ASX for now until you guys update. My systemPMDG 744x, FSX SP 1,2 FSX accelerator, Squawk box 4, ASX (…

People,There are countless users of this board and it's related products sitting on shpilkis waiting for any news of the latest update release or fix for their respective issues with AS/ASX/ASA. So when you title a brand new thread something like "ASA Updated Build" or "White out fix" people immediately jump to read the thread thinking it is what it says it is, an update or a fix. When it turns out not to be the case it is very annoying and dissappointing. So please, if you have a problem to report or a question about an update release or fix, title the thread accordingly. For those of you who have no clue what I'm talking about, here are two examples:"ASA Updated Build" SH…

Hi,I used AS2004 many years ago with FS9 but havent setup a weather program for FSX yet. Im considering ASA for FSXand wanted to ask about the maximum, minimum, upper and lower visiblity functions. Are they currently all working properlywith the latest build? Is the DWC or global mode problems ive been reading about affect these in any way?Thank You.David Ranieri.Sydney, AU.

Jim, Damian,A while ago, I reported an issue with the FMC winds reported and those shown when pressing CTRL-Z. They were completely different with the FMC winds corresponding to the 'initial' weather station (e.g departure airport) this, of course, affected complex add-on planes because the FMC had wind data not related to the weather around the aircraft, causing S-Turns and erratic LNAV following. The problem, as I said, is that FMC data differs considerably from what the weather is around your aircraft... I found a way, to make those winds MATCH, with no discrepancy, making it easier to troubleshoot the problem.Essentially, what needs to be done is tick the option to dis…

I'm running ASA B394 in FS9.1 and apart from the problems that are being worked on (cloud popping, wind shifts with PMDG, etc) I am getting good weather depiction *most* of the time.My main grumble is the time it takes to load up. I start it before starting FS and it is several minutes before it is able to provide reports. I noticed that one bottleneck seems to be when it is "parsing line items". It took 2 mins 15 secs to do just this bit of the loading!Any chance you can speed it up, guys?Iain Smith

When will we see a final fix for this white out problem when in cruise!!. This has been months now with the same problem every flight, I get either a white out or grey surrounding the aircraft.I think its about time this was fixed :( Keith

Just a quick question - I installed ASA on the remote and XG on the FSX machine - the automated snapshot function doesn't work. Am I just too dumb or is it impossible with a network install? :-)

I have just purchase ASA from the hifisim.com website and I am having activation issues. The order id is 233111During install I entered the key given, the install seems to go fine.Whenever I launch either of these applications I get a not yet activated notice and I need to re-activate every time. Now I am getting a message that I have activated too many times. How can this be fixed and what could be causing this?I am using FSX on VISTA64. I am the admin and UAC is disabled. Thanks for any help that you can give me. Kevin

So hopefully the question is self explanatory but I am a little confused with the process I should be following with Snapshots and GEPro...Once I process my FP and install my graphics snapshot do I need to press the install GE Textures or does installing the snapshot accomplish that? I am just a little confused by the process and wondering if I have been doing it wrong all this time.I load ASAImport and Process FPLoad ASA SnapshotTHEN I load GE textures but I am not sure if I really need to...Thanks for the assistance,-Paul

Are you having server problems? I have tried several times to log on and when my ASA starts to download the Met/Rep data the server connection fails and the program connects to the secondary server with no better results. FSX and Vista 32, ASA build 355. I have been using ASA for some months now with no problems, same set up and I installed build 355 quite some time ago.

I have been a long time user of AS 6.5 for FS 9. I have never had difficulties with my PMDG products under AS 6.5. I am wondering why a new version of the weather program ASA would create problems like the S turns, stalls etc with this product? If the code that existed before was fine why would a newer version have problems that remain unsolved after four months? Thanks, Greg

Hi,I was very excited to purchase ASA (currently using B394) but the weather depiction is simply not working properly. Although the weather is depicted realistically as soon as FSX loads and just prior to takeoff, as soon as you takeoff and fly a few miles the weather stops being accurate even compared to what the xguage says should be the case.Example: Today in New York area the conditions are overcast with light rain. As soon as FSX loads and the ASA banner shows the weather looks very realistic, with overcast conditions with a light rain. But after I takeoff and fly through the clouds for about 5 minutes en route to Boston (where it is also overcast), the sky changes a…

I have been a simmer for a number of years. I'm not as intense of a simmer as most are here at Avsim but enjoy the hobby. I had FsMeteo then Active Sky and now ASA. I took a flight this morning since I'm home sick today. We had tornado warnings heavy rain and wind along with 1/4 mile vis. in real life. I look out my home office window and it's bad out. So I live between KTPA and KBKV so I fly between the two with ASA. I get broken clouds at least 15 miles visability. No lightning. What could be the issue? How long does it take for weather to update on the server from real life? Thanks,Jeff

Hi Guys:I was operating a PMDG B74F (FS9) From OMDB to WIII last night on the following route, a friend was following along (also using FS9, PMDG 744, ASA) about 50 Nm Behind me, same route same FL..The routing was-N0509F290 LALDO B505 EGTAL R654 VAXIM P307 PARAR N571 AGELA/N0500F330 N571 GUNIP/N0496F350 R467 VKL/N0493F360 B335 PKU/N0496F350 A585 JATAM DCT PLB DCT CARLIAt approx PLB / CARLI, both mine and my friends Aircraft encountered both stick shaker, overspeed and a roughly 7000' pressure differential resulting in being in a 4000 FPM Dive, Overspeed, Stick Shaker (stall warning) Cabin Pressurisation Warnings (checked the PACKS, all okay, nothing that should have dire…

A couple of weeks ago, I just deleted ASA and went back to ASX. A few days ago I reinstalled everything to include the new SP-1 Beta 2. What a difference. ASA has not closed once, nor have I had a problem with FSX. I'm getting just some beautiful weather. I thank Jim and every one else for all their good advise. I only bought ASX a couple of months ago, so I am still trying to stay on the front side of the learning curve. I've had a fair amount of trouble loading from Metar saved files, setting the correct times in, but have found the Map is a good way to check and see if what you had hoped you had set in is in fact what you have. I still am not clear on setting t…

I apologize if these questions have already been answered. Is it possible to configure ASA 394 to follow the aircraft? For example, if I am only AI Spotting and I switch from one airport to another I have to go to the report screen and enter the four letter airport code for ASA to recognize the airport. If I remember correctly ASAv65 use to automatically redirect and grab the new weather. I am using ASA networked on a FS Client connected to FS Machine via WideFS. I have "lock to closest" checked and I do not know if that is causing a problem. However, ASA is downloading weather and pushing it over to the sim so I don't think this is a network issue. I also noti…

When your flying over the Atlantic or another large body of water with no real weather station around, where does active sky get the weather for that certain area? Every time, and I mean EVERY TIME I fly across the Pacific or Atlantic, the winds are completely out of control. They will go from a heading of 330@70 to 220@20 in a split second causing my plane to nearly stall. Is there any fix for this at all?FS9ASv6VistaPMDGThanks!

Don't have a clue what problem is but I am using B394 and when using ASA, FSX freezes after a couple of hours. I get this information in "view problem". As I have said, I cannot interpret this. When I make same flight over and over without ASA, I experience no problems._______________________________________ProductMicrosoft Flight Simulator

Hi, i did a flight from KDET to KESC the other day, and the METARS for my desitination showed an overcast at 1900. When I got there, however, despite the report screen showing the correct metars, the representation in the sim was way off. Here's what it looked like:i was kind of surprised, so just to see what would happen, i ended ASA and chose "use real world weather" from FSX. behold!out of curiousity i restarted ASA and waited till until the weather depiction complete message showed up. It looked spot on, with a strong overcast (the screenshot doesn't look much different than the 2nd one i posted there. So it seems like something weird happens on a cross country flight…

Hi,I'm in the process of creating an alternative hardware profile for simming and gaming with as few services active as possible. This has been quite successful and the Services count is currently 15 and I've managed to preserve Printer, NOD32 and Broadband Internet functionality.During testing I loaded ASA Build 394 and I find that it keeps asking me to activate the product. This is initially unsuccessful and I'm then invited to enter my product license key which is accepted as being valid. However, shortly afterwards the cycle repeats itself. This continues and consequently ASA never manages to finish the initializing process. Running ASA under my normal hardware profile…
