On the report screen along the right side I have a icon I can press to install GE Pro Textures. When I press it I get an invalid License Error. I upgrated from AS 6.5 to ASA and am currently running FS9.Any idea how to fix?Thanks,Terry

Hi Jim, still getting used to the new ASA but i'm having a couple of little problems, and seen as there's far less options than there were in the las Asv6.5 im not sure what to do. After much stress getting networking to work, I have ASA working on my laptop with FSX on the desktop and am trying to analyze what benefits this creates, if any. After activating ASA on the laptop, I find it must be reactivated on the desktop to use it there for comparison. If I keep reactivating when I switch back and forth, will I use up a limited number of software activations?My initial impression on networking is that it has absolutely no affect on framerates, but it may reduce stuttering. Is this what I should expect?

In ASA Wx Config page, in the Visibility field dots are not allowed, so it's impossible to input a visibility under 1 miles.There is a fix for this?Thank you in advanceFabrizio Berretta

Hello, i need help !wath is the best configuration using active sky 6.5 with fs9 on a multi monitors set-up : 5 views on 3 pc's using wideview. I also use fsinn to play on vatsim. So far the only weather engine that has been synchro on all monitors is the fsinn weather but much less interesting than active sky.any suggestion ?jean-louis

Hi,I returned to ASA after installing the beta update as I'm no longer getting CTDs with FS9 :( The problem is that in the last flights I've noticed that I'm getting regularly Cu cloud layers with base between FL250-300 and thickness around 5000ft that aren't supposed to be there.I have the four cloud sliders set to 0 with max layers set to 4, and checking both ASA local weather and WxConfig, and nearby stations on FS I don't see them in there.Im looking for any way to avoid them as I don't feel very realistic having Cu with base at thoose heights...Thanks,

Why does ASA randomly keeps telling me I need to activate my copy???? I only use my laptop to run ASA in network mode, sometimes it work perfectly, some times it will tell me that it needs to activate my copy.. is this normal?????

I have now completely overcast conditions... one question though I have taken a fairly large frame rate hit (OClocked E8500 running at 4Ghz), running Level D 767 in the VC returns 15-18fps in full overcast conditions down from 30fps at least before the settings change, has anyone experimented with changing the cloud coverage density/distance between the default 8 and the new 12 and can they be of different value ie keep the coverage at 12 but reduce the draw distance to 10... I am willing to experiment but thought I would check if there was a sweet spot which did not kill the fps too much......Looking foward to ASA..…

Hi Jim, I just bought ASA (build 316) and can't seem to connect to FS9, I have FSUIPC 3.85 installed. System info; AMD Triple core processor 3GB ram 2 HDD 1 320GB 1 500GB 512MB Nvidia 8800GT video card ASA is installed on C drive FS is on J drive which is my second physical HDD. Any thoughts? I'm interested in the product XPAX, but I have one question regarding this product.Is it possible to de-activate the loading option?I'm using addon airplanes of PMDG, and I load the cargo/fuel through a loadmanager. Since I have to make a fuelplanning based on the payload, I need to know the exact weight of the airplane up front. If I would use the loading feature of XPAX (which is random), it is hard to calculate an accurate fuel load based on the weight.So if there is a way to not use the loading feature of XPAX, and use the rest of the program (sounds and approval ratings), I would be very interested.Jon

Hi,currently running ASA in FS9 with the BETA patch. So far, the only bug i've found is:WITHOUT the BETA patch, I created snapshots for specific weather situations. I use FE in FS2004 and what I did was select some favorites, installed them, then did a snapshot of that scenario. I must say, this feature alone makes ASA worth it, besides, weather depictions are now more accurate than with AS6.5. Now... AFTER installing the BETA patch I get an error when trying to install the snapshots, something about 'index out of range' or something. (before the Patch, this feature worked fine) gut feeling tells me, that if I re-create the snapshots again using the BETA patch everything…

I am in the process of networking FSX and ASX. I will be moving ASX to a Vista 64 machine and I will be leaving FSX on my Vista 32 machine. What is the proper procedure to move ASX to the Vista 64 machine?Once I get ASX moved and the bugs worked out, then I will install ASA.Thanks,Bill

I know that ASA will modify the Haze layer texture as seen from above in FSX if the, "Disabled Haze layer" option is checked, but, does ASX change anything about the default FSX Haze layer texture?JB

Thanks :( One question however, as I am a luddite, and refuse to infect my computer with FSX,..........- Which textures should I be using to generate clouds in FS9?I have used ASG up until now (with AS6.5) and have been fairly happy. Took me a while to make it work. If you had AS6.5 (like me) and you forget to update the path for the weather file you will end up with incorrect fuel calculations in FSBuild.In AS6.5 the path was to the main ActiveSky folder, in ASA the weather file required by FSBuild is in a hidden folder!!! So, make sure you update FSBuild to get ASA weather from this location, where 'Username' needs to be replaced with the username on that machine:C:\Documents and Settings\Username\Application Data\HiFi\ASA\Weather

I am currently running ASA with the beta patch and have noticed that even though I have 8 variations (snapshots) under each weather type that ASA keeps using the same snapshots to depict a weather type. It is my understanding that this snaphot selection should be random in nature however ASA keeps using the same snapshots over and over for a particular wearther type. There is no randomness at all.Has anyone else reported this behavior and is there a possible fix??Thank you in advance.

I have noticed on a few flights the weather reported on ASX and reported in the ATIS covers only a part of the airport. For example at KSLC the visibility was reported as 2 sm, but south of the field the actual visibility was greater than 10 miles, but once 1000 feet down the runway the visibility dropped to 2 sm.Is the a method to set the weather fully arounf the airport?ThanksLouis

Two questions on how to get the best frame rate when running ASA - maybe someone can advise:How much benefit do you get from running networked? - anyone tested running on 1 machine and 2 and measured frame rates? Failing that can anyone comment qualitatively?Second on a quad core system, there may be some benefit from setting ASA to run on the last 3 cores as FSX loads the 1st core most heavily. Anyone tried this - actually I don't know a way to set core affinity permanently - just on each start up using task manager - anyone know a way of doing this?Thanks for any ideas / comments.

I've searched the forum but cannot find thi sparticular problem.trying to start ASA the initial screen comes up to choose FS9 or FSX. I select the relevant FS then the screen goes to the next step with the blue bar and Loading, please wait. After about 30 seconds a VISTA box comes up and tell sme its stopped working (ASA not VISTA)The attachement shows the error from Vista.It is not the Beta upgrade.
