Hello All:I just started having the issue where FSX wasnt being updated by ASA or ASX. I started todays trip with ASA (BETA SP nstalled) and was experiencing the s-turns that many have reported with PMDG's MD-11, strangely enough, I didnt have that issue prior to the BETA SP install. After reading that this may still be prevalent after the beta SP, I reverted back to ASX, where I was able to start FSX and even get the initial weather update (ASX inializing/depiction complete messages were displayed) however after 2-10 minutes, all the weather cleared. My map position is being updated accordingly as well. I have no weather settings enabled in FSUIPC (version 4.40) so I…

hello,as a occasional FSX flyer, maybe I've missed something :( :I've been using so far ASX+XG, FEX, REX...separately for every FSX sessiondoes that screenshot caption mean that AS(X/A), XG, FEX, REX can be used together? I thought that doing it could return a malfunctioning FSXdid I understand correctly?thanks for the explanation

I had the issue of stuttering every 4 or 5 seconds with the initial ASA build. I uninstalled the Xguage and had to rename it to get it back to normal. I also had the stuttering when I checked lock to FS in map view. In the new build it is better but I still notice a stutter every minute or so. I will have to uninstall the Xguage and rename it again and see if that small (but annoying) stuttering goes away. Thanks for your work on this.Darcy

Thought i,d post some shots of my dawn flight from Dublin to Geneva. Using ASA upgrade from ASX ( My install seemed to miss all of the problems others encountered even Pre - Beta), FEX and ASX for limited cirrus overcast texturesClimbout over Irish Sea:Turning into Sunrise approaching Cardigan Bay ( Notice Lightning Flash below over bay!)I for one have been really impressed with ASA once you read through manual and do some experiments with combinations and settings

Hello,1) LFST station reports 50 meters visibility ; I get 800m in FSX. Note : This behavior occurs with DWC on, with DWC OFF it's OK.2) In the WX Config, I set 100 meters in the visibility field ; the metar is set to 160936 meters... Now, I set 100m in the METAR string, I get 100m in the field. ok. But after applying the weather, FSX keep 800 meter of visibility. How to get correct visibility ?Config : ASA + FSX SP2

I've upgraded to ASA, and am using the direct wind control (global) option for smoothing wind, QNH, temp, visibility. Does his option override the other weather options such as:1. Create Additional Stations2. Enhance Route Coverage3. Force Destination Wx ZoneI have had DWC plus (1) and (2) enabled thus far -- the results seem pretty good. I was wondering how they all interracted though, and if they would cause problems with handing of AI aircraft at arrival airport, for example.I've noticed that the 122.0 voice Wx report seems pretty accurate for destination (as viewed once I arrive), but is different to that given in ASA Wx Gauge Dest, and that given in Wx report when …

One for the devs, I first started ASA and let it do it's business then when it is finished I import a flight plan. I start X-Graphics and load the WX Influenced theme. It says checked ASX weather depiction( I take that means ASA) then loads the correct textures into fsx texture files. X-Graphis is then closed. Then I start FSX via the start on the ASA screen. And away we go. Problem is there has not been a cloud in the sky all day in Melbourne but the weather depiction at Melbourne Airport is of a sky with quite a few clouds. I have yet to see a cloudless sky while using ASA. Any ideas- am I doing anything wrong?

When I upgraded to ASA from AS6.5 asked in this forum what was the simplest wayto run ASA for VATSIM and was told all I had to do was select VATSIM weather and automatic downloads.Today when at KBOS for flight to EGLL after starting ASA the program was still showing weather for my previousflight even though lock to closest was ticked in the report section. KBOS was heavily overcast with snowbut the sim showed clear sunny skies all the way. Closed down ASA started it again and weather seemed to be correct. However now while flying overthe North Atlantic sim again shows clear skies all the way even though the weather stations on ASAindicate there is plenty of cloud.Guess my…

Hi,The suggested settings are FSUIPC wind settings off and ASA DWC on. That way ASA DWC handles the winds. Thanks!

First and foremost. Thanks for 355. I've done a dozen or so flights at locations across North America, Middle East, and Indonesia using 355 with FS9 and glad to report no issues. It appears to have fixed everything listed. However, I do have two very minor things to report.1. I still never get a green update message other than the initial message. No real effect to the weather depiction, but I just like that level of re-assurance that ASA is updating weather that I get with AS6.5. :( 2. Whenever I import a FS9 flight plan it always defaults the speed to 120. I

Hi,I first bought REX and then also ASA since I always used and liked your products but now when I try to use ASA together with REX textures I get (at least to me) very cartoonish looking clouds, below is a screenshot showing what I mean. The REX texture theme used is 'Reality' and the resolution is 4096 and the compression DXT5.I turned to the REX forum and asked what textures others were using to get some tips on what textures would give a more realistic look but instead they hinted this look in the pic above might actually be caused by using ASA's weather engine. Since I mainly read good things about the combination ASA-REX I was surprised but decided to give it a try …

Hello, gratulations for the good work with the Beta Patch. The refreshing and smoothing works well for me, now.But an issue is already left, I think:When changing Date and/or time in FS the ASA Wheater isn't updating.I have to press refresh, than it works. For my opinion this should happen automatically isn't it?

I'm using FS9 now with ASA and it has crashed mid-route twice on me in as many days. I've had maybe four good flights. A lot of flight have extreme wind shear or something going on because my IAS will fluctuate all the way up to 400 kts when I'm cruising at 300 kts @ 32,000. The amount the plane shakes around during the flight would have everyone grabbing their barf bags. I never had such wild weather before I installed ASA last week. Have these problems been addressed?Thank you,Dack

After restarting FS9, ASA will not connect. Not sure if this is per design? Unchanged since initial release.scott s..

Upgraded from AS6-5 to ASA, FS9FSUIPC newest, unregistered. What I am trying to do is something I thought would be easy, but it isn't. Read manual, forums, etc.Start FS9 with a flight that has "clear all weather" in it. Aircraft at LIMC, Italy.Weather is clear, visibility is as we know, dreadfully long at higher altitudes. The computer is used only as a client, and is slewed by the server, so the winds are of no importance, of course. With server not on, just the client, I am starting ASA.After a while, not too long, it populates the weather with clouds. Good. (I have taken the "cumulus02.bmp" from FSX, made by the FEX and converted it to DX3, and it is a whole new world;)No…

One last question about using SimConnect for ASX/ASA. When ASX/ASA is installed locally, you launch FSX by hitting the start FS button. When running ASA/ASX networked, do you still launch FSX by hitting the Start FS button or do you have to manually start it after loading the weather data on the client side?Disregard this question and feel free to delete this thread. I figured out what to do. BTW, can you delete your own thread?

Hi there,I've just bought the brand new ASA and I really appreciate its new features.I would like to use REX and ASA together, with in the simpliest way.Unfortunately, I didn't succeed to find an issue... :( Indeed, what's the step-by-step proedure in order to have the 2 products simuneatously? If I launch ASA, give it a ICAO code in order to retrieve weather, what is the procedure to follow with REX?I had a look to the snapshot area of ASA, but didn't find a way to have a clear answer.Any help would be appreciate.Vini

It seems to load alright and then the main user screen disappears. The program shows up in the tray as running but I can't get theuser interface screen to save my life. I'm running short in ideas here.

I'm having a problem with winds aloft using FS9 with ASA. The winds shift all over the place, sometimes nearly stalling me and other times throwing me into overspeed. Instead of shifting smoothly like I would expect, the shifts are sudden and fierce. In an attempt to solve the problem, I downloaded the beta SP1, but the problem isn't solved. The plane I'm using is the Project Opensky A320 with the vasFMC panel. I'm using FSUIPC 3.85 unregistered. In ASA winds aloft are enabled, and direct wind control/smoothing is also enabled. Any ideas? Thanks,Joe Soter

Now that Global mode seems to be working correctly with the beta build, I have noticed that using it has caused a slight decrease in my FSX performance. Not a huge decrease, but enough to make me want to want to see if I can do anything about it. So I have questions...1.) Will running ASA over a network using SimConnect help to aleviate the performance loss I see using Global mode? Or does the performance loss I see actually come from within FSX trying to depict the global mode weather so running ASA networked won't matter? Depending on the answer, you may be able to skip the rest of the questions.2.) If running ASA networked, does the client system that ASA resides…
