I just purchased ASA and everything seemed to have installed alright. I can go to the wx config option and type in an ICAO and receive the current weather. However, when I go to start FS9 by pushing the button it doesn't show the corresponding weather that should be there. The one thing I have noticed I don't have that the manual shows is the Modules option in FS menu. I appear to have FSUIPC in Program Files\HiFi\ASA\FSUIPC. As I understand it was downloaded and installed with ASA. Any ideas or suggestions? Thank you.

For several times now I experience the following problem with ASA (what never happened with ASV6.5):I start ASA und FS, choose a flight and ASA gives me its red info-line telling that the weather generation process is initiated. Weather appears, all good. When I exit FS and restart later (ASA on all the time) no weather will be generated any more! I can refresh or do anything, the weather won`t appear. Althoug, ASA says FS9 is started... Old ASV6.5 always "knew" when my FS was running.Is there a possibility to let ASA check for FS-connection more often? Might this be a connection problem? Perhaps a time synchronization problem?

Hi all, I'm opening a new thread about well known wind problem, because I didn't receive any answer in my previous one. The problem happens often flying over intense airport area, and I've founded this strange response by ASA winds aloft management. This is the scenario: FS9, ASA, FSUIPC all winds options off, flying from EDDF to LIRF; next you can see three screenshots reports ASA wind aloft, regarding three adjacent stations crossed during climbing from EDDF. In all of it winds is reported opposite by the previous. In this situation, as changing the station, the wind rotate by 180 degrees :( :( My I have an answer by the developer please?Thnks and regardsRob

I am having a problem with ASA when it starts up the screen keeps minimizing on its own. I have done the regedit to fix this twice now. It works for a while and then resorts to some offscreen position on its own. Even when I am able to restore the window to the desktop where I can see it, it only lasts for a while and then goes back to its disappearing mode.I have not yet been able to try FS9 because when I select it in the options screen it reloads back to FSX I tried the manual setting in the ASA config file but it just returns to FSX. Besides this is not an acceptable way to switch FS in any case.I also find that if I minimize the screen to the task bar I can no l…

I know this is old for most users.But having just returned to FS9 its new for me...It seems that if I fly real time weather GEPro will launch AS6.5 and display the weather...BUTIf I want to select my own weather from a fetched file,it opens AS6 but never displays the weather condition.. Any thoughts.... So it appears that I getting half use from this product,and am not quite sure what its actually doing for me ... Is there any archived help tips and set up tips for this I can read through?

Hi Jim...I followed your advice on how to load and start AS6 with GEP from the other thread...Still Nothing..I have tried every concievable combo to load,launch, but all that works is using Online weather..that will launch correctly no matter what interface I use....I even tried using the WX finder,saved and updated and launched from AS6(with a flight plan) and from GEP ..Nothing...No weather at all....I'm sorry..me and interfaces don't get along......I might just dump GEP and just get GE2006 just for the ground textures..Then hopefully my saved weather files or WX Finder files will work again in offline mode......

Gents,I'm just trying to wrap my head around a few things different between AS6.5 which I've used since it's release and my new installation of ASA.1. Is there any type of ceiling suppression? I know there is no longer an selectable option, but does ASA stop processing below any altitude? If not, any chance of that being added?2. How does ASA handle FS flights set to a future date? Does it use the current weather or the TAF?Once again, this was a selectable option in AS6.5, so I just wonder how it works in in ASA.Thanks in advance.

I had my first test flight with the new PMDG MD-11 in FS9 (FedEx 1209) and the Wx coming into KMEM was so neat and realistic. It's a night flight, so my visuals were poor, and I can't comment on the depiction, although ASA has been fine in FS9 for me so far.Anyhow, descending though about 12,000 feet I hit some turbulence that was not something I've ever seen in the sim before. The plane, an MD-11 mind you, was actually bumped around the way real aircraft move in gusty environments. In the past, the turbulence was always so smooth and minor, especially in larger aircraft. After initial success with ASA and FSX I am now having total failure. I'm starting ASA and when it's loaded starting FSX via ASA. I've been starting at EGNV, ASA loads the weather then, sometimes after a few minutes, once immediately, the textures reload, FSX hangs then crashes with a d3d9.dll error. I've been using REX and FEX but have gone back to default textures and it still happens avery time. If I don't use ASA all is fine. Hi, I just purchased Active Sky Advance (upgrading from AS6.5) and have a pretty strange problem. At least I think so. I have never had it before and it only occurs when running FS2004 (with FSUICP 3.85) and ASA. I sometimes want to check that the weather data is loaded correctly when I go from one location to another using the "Go to Airport" menu. I am a registered user of ASV 6.5, ASX and X-Graphics and have, this afternoon, purchased an Upgrade from ASX to ASA. My installation of ASX is the RTM + patch 3 release and was installed on a drive other than my Vista 64 OS drive. This [other] drive also contains my FSX folder and all FS addons.The installation FAILS with ERROR 202, Upgrade eligibility check fails. OK then, uninstall from FSX drive and reinstall to Program Files x86 area, RTM version only, activated with my key and run once. I have the ASA upgrade from ASX installed on a network. The Windows message appears indicating ASA encountered a problem and needs to shut down with the usual apology for the inconvenience. The log is as follows: Populating weather stream with new data...Parsing line itemsBackwards Compatibility ASv6 Check/Copy problem: Could not find a part of the path 'C:\Addon\Modules\ASv6\ASv6.exe'.I do not understand the reference to ASv6.exe. That verson is not installed, although when it was it was in my Addon folder. I have been running ASX on my system for some time. If any light can be shed on the problem I would much appreciate it. What is suppose to happen when you pause FSX for say 20 minutes and then unpause it?I had to pause FSX on final and when I un paused it the plane went wild at about 50 ft over the runway .. killing the crew and 18 passengers...So should it take a few minutes to smooth out any weather changes that occur during the pause?

Hi Jim, Damien, et al,Using ASA and XG last night, I noticed in the main ASA status window that ASA seemed to be spending an inordinary amount of time generating and depicting thermal operations. Since I was cruising @ FL370 in the F1 Super 80 Pro, my question becomes, do these thermals have any noticeable affects on big-iron operations in the CL, CRZ, or Dec phase of flight? When I think of thermals, I usually associate them with gliders, ultra-lights and so forth.Should we set the thermals sliders in the Options page to the far left to reduce the processing or simconnect burdon if we tend to focus on larger aircraft and the higher FL's?Thanks and regards,

Just thought I'd rant a bit about my serious disappointment with ASA. It seems to depict weather a bit more realistic than ASX, but the snapshot system IMHO is utter b0ll0cks. It may be nice for the REX/FEX fans who prefer oil paintings instead of realistic skies. I am using ASG because its great, I think it looks better, and I loved the "submit Wx influenced textures" option. I disabled some textures I didn't like (asphalts, strange sun config etc.) But now with ASA what do I get? Masses of data of preselected textures in folders which take up hard disk space. I went through some of the texture folders of the auto generated snapshots -- most in each category are the same…

Hello!I have the download Version of ASX and it was running fine under Vista32. But due to lots of problems with Vista I installed Win XP on an other HDD and installed FSX under XP.Well last thing to do is installing ASX. I am able to install it, but I am not able to start it to enter my serial! XEngine crashes right at start! So I am not able to update to SP4 because the SP4 installer is missing a licenced Version of ASX....What can I do?Thanks for the help!

Hi,I upgraded to ASA from ASv65 on FS9. Since I completed my upgrade I'm having random CTDs on several programs (FS9.exe, ASA.exe, even ivapnetint.exe) after about 1hr of execution (seems the same OOM errors that others are experiencing?)Another thing that is happening to me is having a sudden bank while cruising. It seems like... wake vortexes?... but with no traffic around.Can someone confirm if the CTDs are the same OOM problems that others are having, and the banking issue?Thanks

Hello,I have installed ASA, and it seems to have installed OK. When I try and use it to generate weather in FSX, it does not seem to be communicating with FSX, and no weather updates occur. I am using FSX Acceleration, and it is NOT a network (I do have a registered version of FSUIPC installed). ASA seems to be communicating with the servers and downloads weather, but does not update it to the sim. All I get is "Fair Weather". ASX (which I upgraded from) still works perfectly well, and is able to update the weather in FSX just fine.I was wondering if this might be a Simconnect issue? I even tried the "downgraded" SP1 version and still no joy. ASA seems to find FSX…

After installing ASA, I was unhappy with the look, the weather dynamics were fantastic tho. I prefer the look of my REX using 'weather themes' in FSX...I just want to go back the 'way it was'.So I decided to uninstall ASA...using the CONTROL PANEL/ADD REMOVE PROGRAMS...Now, when I load FSX and my favorite FSX weather 'theme'...No change...REX clouds still look like ASA 'changed them'and I cant seem to get it back to 'default' weather setting and using my REX textures..(They seem to have been changed by ASA, the weatherdynamics/looks)I have also tried -re-installing all REX textures again.The REX textures are definately installed, I can tell. But it looks like ASA changed…
