Hi Jim, I started a thread last week which indicated I was having problems with ASX. I uninstalled everything (including FSX) and reinstalled to SP2. I then reinstalled ASX and Graphics. I am getting the same problem. ASX downloads weather fine but it does not render it in FSX. There is no error available. I am waiting upward of 30 mins after I load the plane. User defined weather is set and if I hit Customized button I see that "All Weather Stations" is checked and ASX is setting all stations to the correct weather for my origin airport but when I click on the Specific Weather Station button it is set to mag 17 at 0 kts. Well I have tried another north atlantic flight and very soon after setting out over the atlantic in the PSS 777 got wild 360 degree wind fluctuations (yes with wind smoothing checked as well) and found myself at 11000 feet insted of 34000 feet. Closing down ASA and starting ASV6.5 everything now working perfectly.I certainly dont feel as though ive wasted my money as I like the weather over europe and the winds behave there. I know the team are working on a patch and until then I wont use ASA for atlantic flights.John

Hi all,first thing: ASA is simply great, congrats.This post is also for report what I think a little bug: I have imported a flight plan with destination EHAM, but ASA has refuseto load the dest. airport: the problem has been corrected simply removing the -+ before the altimetric datum inside the flight plan.Thank you for this great weather program, a must-have!

Hi all 1st time poster. I will try and explain; I can run Active sky 6.5 no problem. I brought ASA the other day and was able to get it to run well no problems: For some reason it will not run anymore. I habe not changed or done anything diffrent. It will start, initialize then the ASA icon will move to the tool bar and nothing else happens. Before it would initialize then the ASA program would open to the main screen. I have un-installed, rebooted, re-installed but i can't get to open like I did when I first purchased it a few days ago. What do you think is going on?

No problem this time, but I simply wondered what ASA does when I load a flight that was saved in mid-air a few days ago. It seems the weather I get is the same I had as when I saved the flight. But... does that mean ASA won't be doing anything anymore for that flight? In other words: does ASA only do what it is supposed to do when you fly an uninterrupted flight? And how does ASA know it is a new flight and it SHOULD load new weather? Or should I never use ASA when I load an older flight? But... every default flight is in fact an older flight...Well, in short: how does ASA work with saved flights? Just curious. :(

Hello,I've been using ASA for a while and I'm quite pleased with it. I did encounter a problem tonight though.I was on the last leg of a two part flight from CYQA to CYKZ then on to CYKF flown in sim session. When I arrived at CYKF the metar showed: CYKF 310122Z AUTO 09004KT 1SM -SN BKN010 OVC015 M04/M06 A2980.However when I flew the approach and landed the weather was nothing like this (see screenshots). I encountered no clouds at all and visibility only dropped to maybe 5 miles. There were a few cumulus stuck to the ground though. The only thing I can think of was that for the first flight (CYQA to CYKZ) I imported my flightplan and had VATSIM weather on, then just left…

I just bought ASA. This is my first ever weather program and er... well, it's all rather daunting for a newbie! :( So for my first flight I tried to do it as simple as possible. I just want to make sure if what I did does the job. Hello, just a few questions about what the exact implications of the ASA settings are and a couple of requests...First the settings...What is the difference between FSX in global mode and it not in global mode? From what I can tell Global Mode means the weather is just a single bubble around you set to the nearest station that changes every 10 minutes or so, it also means wind and visibility smoothing. Non Global would be the traditional Activesky mode with smooth transitions of weather with fronts visible in the distance and all that, but does mean less wind and visibility smoothing. Just pouring through my new install of GEPro and have discovered a couple set up questions....Any help would be great....And thanks....1) In the AS6 options Screen...Do I check Enable GE Pro Auto-Submit?Then what options would I use in the *Full Sky Theme* & * Cirrus Theme* ? WX-Influenced?????2) If I select to Customize my AS6 Graphics,will they show with GE Pro on auto launch? Would this would mean that I would need to change the *WX Influenced* in the AS6 options page????????? And to what.......Believe it or not I think I have the rest figured out.....Thanks......

Hi I need help trying to locate the correct path. I have just installed ASA and every time i start it asks me to locate the Appdata path for FSX. Dispite the fact that i am folling the instructions it gives me it still cant find it and it tells me that proper asa operations are not possable. I have done a search on the forum but drew a blank. I am running my sytem with vista. Sorry if i am missing some thing simple but any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Shaun

Hi GuysASA with FS9I observe the follwing, I have tried with either option ON Force real time and force fs time, I have also un-selected both options but does not matter, everytime I start FS9 I 1st get the weather clear call, then 1-2 seconds later a terrain reload and the time is set to a differnt time, seems 2 or so hours +GMT or from the start time I selected in FS.Example I set FS to start at 0630Z I get set to 1130Z = my local time 1330BAny advice?Overall I am impressed with ASA, and with a few tweaks & fixes all will be wonderfull!RegardsJannie

I installed ASX SP4 and then the upgrade for ASA. It all went very well and was installed in 5-minutes. Started us FSX and was very very pleased with what I saw, beautiful deplicted weather. I gaunted around Washington in the cessna over the rolling hilling and waters in the lovely haze and clouds. I even jumped in the lear and went up to FL 330 and was impressed over how the weather compared to ASX, much more real with haze and clouds hugging the mountians...I love it! great job indeed!Now,to the problem. I have a question that is probably something simple, and send me back to the manual if I missed it!I have a networked configuration which works quite well. Yesterday, I've had a few hard gauge crashes in FSX that took the sim with it. I found that after restarting FSX, the other computer running ASA didn't seem to detect FSX had disconnected and continued normally with no messages (that I could see). In ASx, I would get a message in the log that it had lost its connection and reconnected. After a reconnect, the weather would be updated again in the sim over the network.I'm looking for the option or method to force a weather update in the sim if I have to reload a f…

Hi guys, I have been patient waiting to see what you guys may have found on a few of us not being able to connect to weather in FSX (or I guess FS9 for some) after starting ASA first. The other thing I don't know, and have not tested, is whether if I start FSX, then ASA (which is when I do get weather depiction), then fly around for a while, if the weather will update properly.I really don't want to remove SP2, SP1, the SimConnect files, do a 'restore' reinstall of FSX, then reinstall of SP1 and SP2 unless I know it may fix my issue. It's quite unclear to me how downloaded historical weather works:1. When I download e.g. a whole day (would be nice to have an option "from hour" and "to hour" to define a time window for the download; besides the download for 24 hrs is extremely long!), where do the files go?2. When I have e.g. a whole "historical" day downloaded, how can I activate it later on or better force ASA to use the historical data?Andreas

I'm running FS9.1 with Win XP and for no obvious reason I now cannot use ASA. If I click on the desktop icon I get the initial small screen saying "Initialising Internal Database" etc and the blue bar travels along to the end. At 100% that screen disappears and the startup sound plays but I get no User Interface screen.Task Manager tells me ASA is running and I also get a button down in the bottom bar labelled ASA but clicking on that does nothing. If I launch FS9 some weather will be created and loaded but I cannot look at a report or use any of the functions because I cannot see them.I have now uninstalled and re-installed this prog three times with no success. I know you guys are working hard on this program and this might not be possible. But, if you could add a user select button at startup before ASA loads telling ASA whether it is going to be FS9 or FSX it would be nice. The way it seems to work now, ASA has to start all over again if I select FS9 after ASA has loaded in the FSX mode and visa versa. Best regards,Bill

Have had ASA for a couple of days now and , compared with a lot of other posts, I have to say I have been lucky enough to be getting the best out of it having upgraded from FSX.On a couple of occasions when climbing or descending through some wonderful cloud depictions I suddenly hit this ' layer line' which is so unrealistic.Hope image depicts what I mean and I wondered if this was a side effect of FSX no matter what weather program or visibility settings you use?

Hi, At this moment I have reinstalled three times the ASA, for a clean installation. What I mind is not updated weather with FS9, it is as if there is no communication between the ASA and FS9.
