Guys, where should I start looking for it? My ASX is installed on a networked PC. The connection with the main PC must be OK, because I can see the plane moving on the MAP page. But QNH pressure does not get updated anymore in the game.Thanks.

I'm just beginning to use ASX and use it along with Radar Contact. I have noticed situations where the ASX METAR readout for a station did not match the Radar Contact ATIS or ACARS reporting of the Wx. In playing around with ASX I noticed that there is often a difference between the GMT timestamp of the most recent WX file downloaded (and perhaps explicitly saved) and the GMT timestamp associated with a particular station. As an example, I started ASX up while at KSFO, the downloaded/saved Wx file timestamp was 1356Z. Yet the information reported in the REPORT and WX CONFIG pages was 1256Z. Note that I clicked on "CURRENT" to get the most recent METAR report and yet …

Hello active sky community,I'm a newbie and I'm just discovering the advantages of Active Sky 6.5. I wonder, if somebody has ever cared to develop an additional set of weather themes (as AST-files), which I could transfer to the template folder so they would show in the WX-configurator.Of course it's a thrill trying to fly in a hurricane, but to have some more elaborated weather themes at hand would be great. Thanks in advance for your help.Glocke from Germany

I just got a new computer with Windows Vista Home Premium. My computer is high end, with a Nvidia GeForce 8800 video card. When running Active Sky, I keep getting an error message that says "Error accessing internal components (Unencrypt Step 4 -." and it tells me to run the repair option in the setup.exe process to fix this. I have done this several times, and keep getting the same thing. Any way to fix this?

Hello Gang!I am currently running FSX with ASX and the FEX high definition clouds. For some reason, every time I launch FSX there is some sort of a haze that automatically kicks in that makes the cluds in the distance look as my attached picture. Once I climb above this haze sheet, everything looks marvelous. Anyone has an idea how to mitigate this or how to get the cluds to look better? Thanks for your help! Sincerely,Dennis D. Hi,After reinstalling everything the other night, I tried to get my simconnect working again. I must be missing some small entry somewhere. After reading the forum and following everything, double checking everything, I get this error coming up in ASX "Problem writing weather values: The network path was not found.(Error) Source = "I've run the traffic test and it says I'm connected to FSX. ASX seems to work ok up until the point where it tries writing the data to FSX.I've attatched my Xengine Log file. Also, here is what I have my Simconnect file setup like, which resides in My Documents on the Client machine running ASX. The address is from the FSX machine:[simConnect]P…

A suggestion for any future updates to ASv6.When the weather is raining, cloudy and sun visbility is zero, have FS9 automatically turn off AC & ground shadows. May be impossible to do, but I thought I'd ask anyway.ThanksChris

I am thinking about buying X Graphics and have some questions.1. How does it display towering cumulus both with and without the anvil top?2. What is the frame rate hit?3. Considering the heart ache that ASX has caused with the winds aloft, why would I want to buy X Graphics?Bill

I'm having some issues with cloud placement using ASX. I've been looking through the forum, and I have found somewhat similar issues elsewhere.here's the problem:The weather at the airport, in real life, is clear blue sky. But when I go to that airport in FSX, there are clouds, often cumulus clouds that are far too low to the surface. Basically, the weather data from ASX isn't matching the sim. Another example: last night, I was flying into Catalina Island (FSX) and the weather report said No Clouds under 12,000 feet. Well, I could see out in front of the plane MANY clouds at about 2600 feet. Completely wrong. I see this over and over. Clear skies outside my window----but…

I've read the manual but remain confused. Should I take very category individually, set it to Weather-Influenced, and then send it to FS? Or, should I make the selection for each category and then click "send to FS" to send all categories at the same time? And, since I'm running AS6.5 and ASG on my notebook computer, networked to my desktop where FS9 resides, how do the graphics change due to weather infuence? From what I read in the manual, changes are made before or when FS9 loads, so how does this work if AS6.5 gathers the wx after FS9 is running? 'Hope this isn't too confusing of a question, but maybe you'll get the gist of it. I'm sorry I don't understand, but …

I just reinstalled FSX to a new drive on my computer and was wondering if there was a way to edit ASX & XGraphics so they can find the new location or do they have to be reinstalled? ASX & XGraphics reside on my "C" Drive and FSX is now on "D".

I just wanted to pass along that after recently rebuilding my FSX-server rig and some minor tweaks to my FSX-client rig (hosting ASX & XGrpahics), that I've never had such a good looking cloud and sky environment in FSX, period (currenlty using 1159-beta). Now, serveral thoughts come to mind as to what may have truely been the point of improvment.1) Upgraded FSX-server OS from WinXP 32-bit to WinXPx64 64-bit. Better use of a quad-core?2) Followed NickN tweaks to clean the FSX-server to a pristine state after a fresh build. More CPU cycles mean stable sky & clouds. Link in sig below.3) My best guess, since I'm in a simconnect network environment, is the fact th…

I seem to be getting an error when ASX attempts to write out the weather values to FSX. I'm running it on a networked computer and all seems to be set up correctly. The Simconnect is connecting correctly (according to the AITraffic util) and I get the message in FSX stating that ASX is connected. The ASX log file is showing Unable to write to MyUserNameApplicationDataasx-wx-info.dat. Access Denied Source =and nothing I can see after the = sign. I'm running XP SP2 on the networked computer hosting ASX and Vista on the FSX computer. UsersMyUserNameApplicationData is one of those protected folders I cannot even view in Windows Explorer. Because of this, I get no weat…

Hi Folks,I've been using Active Sky since v4 and it's the one addon I never fly without. My question regards the manner in which weather is set when importing a flight plan from FS. After the plan is processed, the window pops up with the weather for the flight. The arrival airport seems to show the current weather and not the anticipated conditions at my arrival time. Does AS have the ability to show and set the arrival weather based on the TAF for my arrival time? In the case of offline, saved weather; does AS look to the archived weather data for my arrival time as opposed to relying only on the current hour METAR/TAF? Thanks for the help.Regards,Jeff

Hello, I've been happily using AS from many months but I would like to understand the big picture - how the weather data is passed between my various programs. I'm using FS9, get my flight plan from FSBuild, fly online (VATSIM) with SB3, and have a registered copy of FSUIPC. I have AS running on a networked PC, connected through WideClient, but I don't think that's relevant to my questions. Here goes...FS9* When AS starts, it creates a snapshot weather file. How does FS9 know that it should use the weather data in that file and not its own weather data?* Can I switch over from AS weather to native FS9 weather using the settings in World > Weather... (such as RW weather…

Hi all,There were some additional problems with recent bad data from a handful of stations, causing occasional termination of XEngine during download/population.We've made several changes in the server code over the past few days to handle this, but some additional unexpected data was encountered over the past 24-48 hours. We have since adjusted the server again with a more comprehensive solution and such problems should be a thing of the past.In addition we've updated the client processes to recover much more gracefully in the event anything unexpected is handed down from the server. This redundant fix will be available in the first update for ASX.If any further relate…
