Not sure why this is happening but for some reason I have Hurricane Ophelia stuck on my map at weather station 5S00 just east of Charlston SC. Is there any real reason for this? how can I fix it? I have Active Sky X SP3. Running on Vista with FSX. I also have FSUIPC 4.26 with all the extras turned off.

Edit: Sorry couldn't remember the "Tell Us" e-mail address...In the next SP for ASX, would you please add the feature to allow us to change the planned flight-level from the briefing page (with a drop down box of different flight-levels) and then hit the refresh button to accept the newly chosen flight-level. Then have it update all data on the briefing page with the new flight-level, including the average wind direction and speed calculation at the end of the report. This would be especially useful for us big-iron flyers that routinely make step-climbs along the planned route. Thanks!Regards,http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/188655.jpg

Hi Hifi team.I purchased AS6.5 and ASX. In ASX, it seems ASX interpolate wx data from wx data of near wx station if wx data is too old. I like this feature of ASX!But in AS6.5, I think that AS6.5 apply wx data that is nevertherless too old data. For example, there are 2 wx stations which are located near each other. One station is A and other is B. It is assumed that the METAR of A was generated at 170300Z, and the METAR of B was generated at 100300Z. (7days ago!)I think that AS6.5 apply A to new data(170300Z) and B to old data.(100300Z)So can I have some solution to prevent applying old data to B?In Japan, METARs of some airports have not been updated timely. Then I watch…

My bad... didn't make the connection between HIFISIM and Active X... here's the post...Have had a problem several times recently where my Active X weather will give me altimeter settings WAY too low... like 26.60 or even 25.40... unless I happen to be flying through a Cat 5 hurricane, there should never be altimeter settings that low. Most acft can't even adjust to that reading.Any suggestions? You answered:The active weather station giving you these readings.Your plane being used.Any setting being used in FSUIPC?My answers:Last night was New York Center flying into JFK and also Oakland center flying into SMF (Sacramento). I'm using the free version of FSUIPC v 4.26.Becau…

After installing SP3 I now have FSX lose the ASX weather every few minutes, display default clear skies, then ASX kicks in again. Build 1160, tried default settings and many combinations. I'll remove SP3 until you've sorted this out. :)

Hi Mark,If you don't want any of the XGraphics textures here, you can restore your original textures pre-XG install (via the options screen) then in the future use the advanced options to deselect such textures from future installations.Best,

Just purchased the Active Sky X bundle but the weather reporting is funky.LSGS reports -6c and snow when LSGS own metar reports:LSGS 010650Z 28003KT 240V300 9000 -RA FEW005 SCT040BKN060 11/10 Q1014=What am I doing wrong? Also unless I manually adjust visibility it never goes over 10 miles!Plus uploading weather file to FSX is inconsistent sometimes it does, sometimes it does not?Running Vista Ultimate with 4 megs and E6700, No raid, 680i board, 8800gtx.Please help.

Since SP3 I'm getting an Invalid Date error even though the date is correct in FSX and shown as correct in ASX. The error message says:"You have chosen and invalid date for use with ASX. Please choose from January 1, 2oo7 to today's date. Defaulting to today's date."If I click OK, it goes away only to appear again and again every few minutes. Most annoying when it pops up just before touchdown on an approach to minimums!Any idea what going on with that? Thanks,Lloyd Noel

I don't see that it was addressed directly by SP3, but in my case it fixed my Xgauge. Previously, if I installed Xgauge on my planes, FSX would crash when I attempted to load a plane. My only option was to leave Xgauge uninstalled. After SP3, Xguage seems to load without any problem. I'm looking forward to using it. Thanks for the update.

Good morning team, I want to let you know some weird behaviours of SP3. Yesterday evening I set up a flight from LIEE to LIRF and activate the options of wind smoothing and wind shift smoothing (with SP2 during climb and cruise I had continuous overspeed warnings and sudden chenages of heading because of wind, also with wind smoothing option activated).Metar of LIEE told wind from 040 at 8 kts, and activesky changed it, because of smoothing, to 166 at 08. This is absolutely unreal. If I were flying online, my weather would have been completely different from the one of the controller (the runway in use also would have been different). If the wind was, for example, 15 or 2…

Hello,I'm running ASX in a client configuration. After installing SP3, ASXwon't start any more. I receive the following error:Unhandled exception has occured in your application..... This happens during the 'Loading modules' phase. The Details info in the dialog is shown below. This configuration was working ok before the SP3 installation. I'm running FSX with SP2 and the SDK updated to SP2 also. But it seems that the installation file of the simconnect client is still the SP1a version. Simconnect is still working (tested with AI-traffic program).RobSee the end of this message for details on invoking just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.************** E…

Hi,This XEngine Message Box pops up after importing a flight plan during the weather briefing. It remains permanently before starting FSX and after exiting FSX. It doesn't seem to bother anything, but what is it's purpose? Thanks.Edit: IF you wait long enough, it completes the smoothing. I'm just too impatient to get flying. However, if it reduces the chance my plane will get tossed out of the air at FL390, then I'll wait. :)Bob..

This option is disabled internally now weather <-- pun or not it is checked or unchecked, or does it still serve a purpose? Also do Xgraphics textures need to reinstalled with each update to ASX or do they remain intact?Nice job!!! really smooth now even on a single core CPU.

Many congratulations on getting SP3 released. I am sure that a lot of work has been going on behind the scenes to prepare a super weather experience for us all.I also hope that your SP3 release signals the near completion of much work by PMDG to make my Vista/FSX/ASX flying experience a much better one.Regards, Richard

What makes this a problem is that it did NOT happen with 1106.Until installing RC1160 I have not installed any of the prior betas.Over a period of 10 different runs - Using AlacrityPC to start ASX with affinity set to ANY single core:time from "Saving weather to disk" to "download complete" - varies from :53 to :58time from "Parsing line items" to "7738 stations.." - varies from 1:52 to 3:47 secondsRunning ASX alone w/ all cores:SWTD->DC - 6 seconds on all runsPLI - 7738 - 10 seconds on all runsUsing ALacrityPC with all cores - the same 6/10 seconds.Using APC with any TWO cores - same 6/10 secs.Seems like 1160 doesn't like using just one core on loading. I have no res…

Hi there,1st Great product, great team, great customer service... to have your customers be part of testing and feedback is great.Anyway, Prior to this evening I was running the last Beta 1158 i believe before upgrading to the 1160 final SP3 release of ASX. No issues... then this evening my aircraft just started spinning out of control. Like i hit bad air. I was around CYHZ where conditions were winds 070 at 18G25, so typical halifax weather ;-)... so anyway, thought it was me or whatever, anomalies happen.Reloaded and game into Landing at CYHZ and as I touched ground, I started spinning out of control like there was wake turbulence. Ive never had this happen before? Then…

I was just wondering if XPax is checking to see what version of the SDK is installed when it loads up? If it doesn't find the specific version (even if you have SP2 installed), is that what is causing my screen to pop up saying I don't have SP1a installed? If this is so, are the plans to take into account that SP2 is a LATER version than SP1a and allow the program to run? Also, I've noticed (when I run it on my 3rd computer that has SP1a installed) that it will pop up and tell me that FSUIPC.DLL is not installed even though I've got it set up in a networked config. It doesn't affect the running of the program, it just might be a bit confusing to some people. Thanx.-R…

I am very happy!! Just bought ASX bundled w/graphics. Looks Awesome. Running 512 clouds and have not seen a performance hit. Just hope to get those wacky winds sorted out w/ out having to buy FSUIPC, but then again it was always usefull for other stuff in FS9. Running on nvidia 9600, Q6600 @ 3.2, Vista 64, 4 GB DDR2 @ 800mhz.Willy

Yesterday here in the UK, the wind was Easterly. When using ASX, the wind arrows were pointing towards the East meaning that the wind, (according to ASX), was blowing from a Westerly direction. This resulted in "Radar Contact" (ATC), giving me runway 26L. Radar Contact was of course correct in giving me 26L because the weather is dictated by ASX. Had ASX got it right then Radar Contact would have given me RWY 08R.Why did ASX which is supposed to be a "Real Weather" engine get the wind direction so wrong? Thanks.
