Before I go buying it and finding this out "the hard way", I thought I'd ask if XPax passengers understand that a small prop aircraft is likely to suffer from some amount of turbulence sometimes and not be totally freaked out by it?I was always very annoyed in FSPassengers when you were flying a SEP or other small multi-engine and ran into a little bit of rough air that the vpassenger immediately went into conniptions... It's my belief that the vpassenger climbing into a small plane should be aware that they are likely to have to put up with a bumpy ride, especially if the weather isn't CAVOK the whole way.Anyhow, probably won't stop me buying it if it doesn't do this/wor…

Hi!I've been a long time ASX user and i'm pretty happy with it. Now I have a hard time trying to configure ASX to be usable while soaring. The small windshifts which arent perceptible while flying a ga aircraft are VERY annoying when you're in a glider. I mean the depicted wind is only 2kn, dynamic rate of change = 25%, maximum wind shear = 10% and it's unflyable. The glider gets "kicked" every 5 seconds from both sides. Cant take altitude since the rope breaks to quickly and cant really fly for same reasons - the glider is unstaible. So could you please indicate me the right settings in ASX to get rid of this problem? Thanks!

Greetings:Before I acquired AS6, in FS Weather I set the upper visibility setting to 40,000' and 30 miles which gave me a nice hazy horizon seeing that I never exceeded 40,000 in normal flight, I had light haze all the time, which is what I desired.Following the suggestions for AS6 settings in FS, I selected "default settings" in FSUIPC. I also reconfigured the AS6 settings as laid out by Jim Skorna in the post, "Realistic Weather Settings".In checking back to the FS default visibility settings which I had set to 40,000', it was now at 15,000' as set by AS6, and when passing through 15,000', I lost the haze. The horizon was sharply defined and didn't look natural. As an e…

Just a quick thank you for excellent support from Jim & HiFi Sim. Following cleanup from a virus attack, I found myself unable to reinstall ASX/XG due to a missing SW key. A quick email to support and within an hour or so there was my key. Needless to say, the reinstall went well and FSX is once again looking it's best!A quick word to the wise, too. Back up your on-line purchases to include any downloaded executables, emails, confirmations, etc. Back up to a protected location such as a CD, DVD, or auxiliary hard/silicon drive. I thought I was safe in saving the email correspondence in my email client but it's possible to lose those when doing system restoration…

Hello;Just got XPax and am using it with FS9 (well soon I hope). I noticed on the options screen there is a button labeled scripts. I select it and the list of the messages text appears. The top of the file says:"Please feel free to edit this file, make additions/changes/deletions, etc. It is recommended to alter the phrase to have its own unique feel for each voice set."I changed the Initial Boarding Call message and now what do I do?I am unsure about how this change can be made effective? Thanks!:)John

I have a rather simple question. I have XGauge installed in my panels, but as an appended window rather than #5, as it would mess up FS2Crew that I have installed on a few aircraft. My question is if it is possible to call up XGauge using a toggle button (like cpttoggles for FS9) rather than the keyboard shortcut, which will not work due to the window # being too high? Just wondering! Thanx.-Rick

  12. Hello forum, could somebody tell me please, why on Anchorage (PANC) airport at the gate B14 (and any gates around this gate) when I moving camera around aircraft in spot view on one side raining and visability changing to low and on other side of plane NOT raining and visability changing to almost unlimited. It's NOT due to ASv 6.5 because without ASv that problem happens also. Maybe somebody know how to repair this by changing ASv 6.5 options. Please help me.Sorry for my englishMartin

  13. I'm not sure if this is something new or if I just never noticed:I use F9 and ASV6, everything works fine. I shut down both programs, then restart FS9 only. The weather at startup is always blue skies and no clouds, even if my last session ended in IMC conditions. Am I missing a setting somewhere that would allow me to keep the weather from my last session? Thanks,Torsten

I have 3 computers networked together and now want to run my XPax for FSX on my laptop. I have already upgraded all the SDKs to the new SP2 and XPax requires SP1a of the SDK to be installed (the simconnect installer), which I no longer have since I've upgraded to SP2. I would REALLY rather not have to uninstall all the SDKs and go back to 1, then upgrade to 1a just to get the simconnect installer for 1a. Does XPax still require 1a to run or can it use SP2 now? If the former, is there ANYWEHERE I ccan get JUST the simconnect installer for 1a? Appreciate any help!-Rick

  15. Hello,I have used ASV 6.5 with pleasure over the years without any problems. Now I experience a problem with Active Radar:I am able to load a flightplan on the "Planning" page, all fixes are displayed. I click on update all. When I change to "Tracking" the "Local Information" shows no information.Going to the "Situation" page only the route (yellow line) and the wind information shows up, but the airports and the weather is missing.I tried un- and reinstalling the program, but my problem remains. How can I fix this? Thanks for Your support in advanceHans-Christian

Hi, I've been using ASv6.5 without any problems for a year or so with FS2004. Recently for the first few times I have been flying with the ActiveRadar on to show precipitation returns. In two of the last three flights when flying with ActiveRadar on, FS2004 has crashed to desktop after about one hour without any warning or error message. This has never happened with ASv6.5 when the ActiveRadar has not been running and I haven't changed or added any other components. Is there any reason why this might be occurring? Anything I can do to stop it happen? Doesn't seem to happen every time I use FS. Thanks!

These are the steps I'm taking: 1) Load FSX 2) Select aircraft (In this case default 747-800 Orbit Airline) 3) Load flight plan 4) Select weather (real static) 5) Use current time 6) Adjust fuel 7) Click Fly NowFight loads... At gate, with parking brakes on, start XPax. Program(s) run for a while and then FSX crashes, then XPax crashes. Boarding has started, almost to the point of finishing. The HResult from XPax is 0xC000020D. Is there an error log created by FSX and/or XPax that I can either post or send via email?I'm running these on ONE machine, XP Professional (5.1 build 2600), 3.2 GHz Dual Core Processor, 3070M (3G) RAM, NVidia GeForce 7300LE with 256 Meg.

Don't know what the heck causes this in ASX (latest beta, and before) but clouds will look normal, then all of a sudden you can see what looks like the same exact cloud, offset just enough to make it look like it was designed for stereo viewing. Makes them look out of focus, like I am seeing double (no wisecracks plz!). I'm guessing its doubling the processing burden. What do we know?Noel

I did a quick search of the forums and didn't see this posted, so here goes...Almost every time I load ASX (it's set to load PHIK since I usually like to start flights from PHNL), I've been noticing that the latest METAR it downloads is very frequently 180 degrees off in terms of the wind. For example, if I try to load the most recent METAR string available (29/0353Z as I type this), it gives me winds as:PHNL 290353Z 22718KT 10SM FEW028 SCT045 27/17 A3009The same time off the ADDS website (http://adds.aviationweather.gov/metars/) gives:PHNL 290353Z 07018G23KT 10SM FEW028 SCT045 27/17 A3008 RMK AO2 SLP184 T02670172If using winds off ADDS, this means that Rwys 08L/R and 04L/…

The visibility sliders under ASX settings appear not to work. For example, if a set maximum surface visibility to 3 miles on a runway with 10+ visibility per the metar nothing happens. Coversely, if the metar reports 6 miles visibility and I set the minimum surface visibility to 50 miles, again nothing changes.Any ideas?I am running an HP Media Center PCm7170n, 3.0ghz, 1.0 GB RAM with a Geforce 7800gt video card. Thanks
