Guys, what is the best method to stop periodic weather updates when on final, or, say 5 miles from the touch down? I still want to them to run (update) before the take off though. Basically as I said I don't want them to occur on final, when the FPS are at their lowest already. I'm asking about FSX in the first place, and in FS9 it would be also useful to know. Thanks.

Planning a route for weather AS 6.5, the distance between the departure point and arrival point is way off. I'm planning a route from NZWR to NZWT which is only about 90nm, but AS shows 8619.3 with a flight time of 43.5 hrs. (See Screenshot)What am I doing wrong here? I've accidentally uninstalled AS6.5 instead of ASX. Unfortunately I cannot reinstall it as it requires AS5 to be present and I cannot find those files.Is there any way around this please?Thanks.

Hi,,,used ASX since the 1st couple of days and its great....now ive got a 2nd computer and thought i`d network them and run ASX of the client.All seems set up ok i followed your instructions in the documents.I run the AI test prog from the server it connects to FSXI run it from the client it connects to FSX.I have fsx running on the server i then load ASX from the client,,i get the meesage in fsx that asx is connected.ASX loads,,and downloads the weather but right at the end after the parsing the messages,,it says data output thread startedthen the next line says "Problem writing weather values : The network path was not found (ERROR) source="now some times the weather lo…

Not sure if I'm right but it looks like the initial load of ASX loads the weather for all stations worldwide.Anyway, it takes a very long time to load - is there any way to shorten it, say by limiting the station coverage if I only fly in Europe for instance?cheersDom

I just purchased as6.5 last night and after I installed it I went to the option page to activate the online option however to my surprise half of the option page is missing...all the options under the set default are not there? would highly appreciate your assistanceThanks

I'm running FSX with Acceleration and all the latest updates. I'm also running Active Sky X with SP2 installed on it.Whenever there is a decent cloud cover going on, my clouds will randomly disappear and reappear CONSTANTLY. It really ruins the point of weather when I can magically see an unlimited distance in every direction every 30 seconds because all the clouds cease to exist, only to fade back in moments later. I used Fraps to record a video of the problem. You can see that there's a fairly large cloud bank directly ahead of me on my descent over the coast of Iceland. The clouds are no more than a few miles ahead, and I'm running on the maximum cloud render distance …

Hi, I am having a large prob with ASX. It recognizes where I am in FSX, the map is correct, the station report gives the correct weather, FSX changes automaticially to user-defined, and I get an initial weather depiction complete message. The problem is that ASX does not seem to be sending the weather it says exists to FSX. The display next to user-defined in FSX gives clear and calm conditions constantly, and this is what is sepicted. I have run 2 uninstall/reinstall cycles of ASX and there is no change. I have ASX build 1106 running on the same comp I run FSX on. How do I fix this??

Hi,A couple of weeks ago I posted regarding problems with visibility at altitude, and Jim suggested reducing maximum vis to 29, which I duly did. However, for some reason the visibility in game simply is not reducing, and I am struggling to understand why.Before my system reinstall a few weeks ago, when cruising at altitude, the visibility was VERY low, and thus the effect was almost that of flying through very thin high altitude cloud. But since I HATE any sign of the horizon, or of huge gaps in the clouds at maximum draw distance, I was quite happy with this.But, IF the vis setting on my old setup was considerably lower than 29, wouldn't this have given me perpetually…

This is above my head. When you start up this unbeliveable good program, the main screen opens and the big blue banner also opens and starts to download the weather. I put all this on my secound screen. But one day and don't know what i did i fired up the sim opened active sky x and just the blue banner opened up and started to download the weather and the main screen never showed up , i tried everything and uninstalled and reinstalled and still the same. how the heck do i get my main screen back cause i can't even shut down active sky or any thing for that matter cause it just disappeared! Dear Hifi Does the the Weather based Graphic textures overrule the Ground Environment X textures? Does the Graphic texture just greyout the scenery and tone the scenery or does it prevent the Ground Environment textures to show its splendour by installing new textures. The weather in fsx by hifi is fantastic. So to fly over the US and installing weather based textures does that remove GEX?Yours Jens MichlasDK

Everything was working fine since I bought ASX when it first came out, until yesterday after a flight, the XEngine crashed on exit. Since then whenever I use ASX I get the screen blanking out, actually turning the color of the sky, this lasts a few seconds to about a minute, then it returns to normal, after a couple of minutes more it happens again, over and over. When I fly without ASX with or without MS real time weather all runs normal, the problem only happens with ASX, and only since the XEngine CTD last night. Could anything have gotten corrupted that I need to clean out, or do I need to do a complete reinstall?

Hi There,There are some serious issues with this software.Firstly...take a look at the following pictures/screengrabs.As you can see, there are discrepancies between the different screens...although the report appears to have updated the weather to 2 layers of Cirrus, the Briefing still holds on to the "last downloaded" weather...and so does the rendering in FSX itself.I cannot for the life of me get ASX (networked) to render what I want it to. I want to first make it clear that I don't know which software is responsible for this problem, whether it is AS6.5 or the LeonardoSH MD-82. I've recently started flying this aircraft again and I'm having trouble on climbout. i have noticed that when flying the flight plan in the sim that is loaded in to asx at exactly the same selected flight level as selected in asx and at each way point the winds alof data heading/ speed in the briefing is quite different at mant waypoints to the actual winds in the sim, So this bieng the case fuel planning using asx is pointless as it does not reflect the actual weathersurely this is not rightkav
