Last time I used ASX I got the following and I have seen this before:I started ASX and it downloaded the weather. The wind for EKSB in ASX was reported as 241/6When I started FSX at EKSB the weather was updated for clouds, pressure and I guess temperatur, but wind was shown as 350/0.Only when I take off and get to the next wind layer at appr 3000 ft, wind seems to update.I have ASX with SP2Running FSX with SP2FSUIPC 4.25 registered "allow changes to FS own weather" unchecked and thus also not enabled the new wind smoothing option in FSUIPC.Later when I tried EKLS where the wind was stronger (225/15), the wind was updated correct.Could it be that the wind is disregarded whe…

If I run ASX real weather and load FSX and wait for the weather to be updated and THEN shut down ASX - now if I save the flight - will the weather settings, skyscape, etc be saved as well?I'm especially curious as to whether the XG layers will be loaded.Trying to track down a problem and need to get some sort of stable base to isolate the issue.Thanx,VicQ6600 G0 CPU 2.4 o/c 3.65Evga 680i A1 with P31 BIOS 2G XP2-8500 DDR2 1066FSB Mushkin 996535 RAM 5-5-4-12-2T320G 7200 HD partitioned for XP/Vista/Programs 2 - 74G Raptors in RAID0 500G 7200 HD for backup SATA DVD burner Evga 8800GTS 640 PCIx 169.13 betaKandalf LCS case w/ built in liquid cooling 850W Thermaltake power suppl…

Hi,I'm not a weather expert by any means, but while flying the other night from KSEA to KSFO I flew through a very thin cloud layer at 31,000 ft. Is this normal? I'm using FSX with ASX.

First - this is NOT an ASX issue - happens with or w/o ASX loaded but I wonder if anyone has seen this before. Also, it just started happening today.Flying in the LAX area, using ANY a/c - heavy cloud layer between 1500 & 2200 feet - looks like the FSX fog layer only very thick. Now, the issue - when I descend into this layer - *everything* disappears - vc panel, spot view, ground, etc. If I descend below or climb above the panels and visibility returns. It looks like the opaque windscreen issue but includes the panels. the 2D panel will display however. If I clear all weather - no problem.Anyone run into this before - I don't recall ever seeing or hearing of it. Before …

First of all, I know this is neither the fault of nor responsibility of either HiFi nor Flight1. I am more interested in if anybody else has encountered this (meaning I'm not going crazy) and whether they've found a way around it.When I use XPax (current version, not the new beta) with the Flight1 ATR, it causes the ADC switch to move back and forth constantly, the wipers run all the time and the drop down compass goes up and down constantly. Other than that, XPax works fine with the F1 ATR.It was a similar problem we had with ASX and the ATR before Hans released a hotfix for it and solved the problem.John

Just finished a short flight, testing the latest betas for ASX and XPax... And I must say, I'm not impressed. It seems that for every update, you fix one thing but break three others... The following list is the bugs I discovered just by casual use. In other words, I didn't really go through every possible action I could think of, just the necessary steps to setup and complete my flight. Also, the same list has been mailed to you already. This is just for reference, so other users can compare their experiences with mine.Active Sky (B1122)"Enable Visibility Graduation" tooltip too wide (at least for my laptop screen, resolution 1280x800)Please remove the "Click a location..…

Hi All.I hate to sound silly or anything, but I must admit I'm a tad confused.I live in the Midlands here in the UK, and wondered what and where ASV gets it's weather settings / up-dates from. The reason I ask this is because we have had some pretty nasty weather lately. Last night for example was Minus 10C, and yet in ASV6.5 I was getting +1Also, there was a huge covering of Fog that pretty much covered the whole of the midlands, and yet ASV did not represent this,Tonights weather is set to be pretty much the same, -10C and a massive covering of Fog that is set to cover from Bristol right up to Liverpool. Can anyone tell me please if I have anything set wrongly, perhaps th…

Hi,Anyone use this product for New Zealand? I've heard the data comes from the NOAA server which only holds metar's for NZAA, NZWN and NZAA, and not the other 20-odd reported stations. This wouldn't be much use with the huge variations in weather you get around here over a relatively short flying distance.I currently use fsmetar, which certainly does improve on the default wx, though it is somewhat basic. In fsmetar, I can also choose vatsim weather, which is hopelessly behind. (now showing 232100Z for NZNV, whereas 270200 should be current). If all else fails, is there a way to manually enter the correct metar's I have obtained? How about TAF's for the taf processing?Any…

Hello,Is there a way to prevent Active Sky X from altering the air pressure during the flight ?The background for this is that I am using Radar Contact 4 and RC seems to be very sensible about altiude. If I do not continously press teh B key while leveled (below FL180 of course) it will soon complain about my altitude bacause the pressure has changed. The only solution I could imagine is to fix the pressure during the flight. Other solutions will be welcome as well.In reallity one would be able to use the set pressure for at least 30 Minutes or 100mi, however with ASX & RC4 I need to constantly press the "B" key to adjoust the altimeter.Cheers,Gaston

Hi,I'm currently trying to import a route generated by vroute into ASX (SP2). It failed, even though FSX (Acceleration) was able to read the route. Then, I tried to create a new route in FSX from scratch and have ASX import it. This too failed. After importing a route, depart and dest is empty. The cursor blinks on the alternate ID, and speed and alt is 0.Does anyone know whats wrong, and how I can fix it?Update: ASX on another computer was able to read the flightplans. Perhaps a simple reinstall will fix it...?Frank Olaf

Hi allNow this has recently started and ain't got a clue what is wrong.I am now seeing bands of colour in the sky and water as though the colours are not blending together. More noticeable at sunset. Also the water has 'fluffy' white patches which look like cloud reflections but they are not. Looks as if my PC setting are showing 16 bit colour when in fact they are at 32 bit.Clouds are also looking a little iffy, with colour bands radiating from the centre to the outsides. What can that be?Using the latest nVidia 8800GTX drivers, Vista 32bit, FSX SP1.I did install SP2 but uninstalled it. Not sure if that woudl have created the problem.May have to take some screenshots.Any …

HiI'm running ASV6.5 on a client pc via WideFS. Everytime I start the program I have to tell it the location of the FS Folder on my FS pc. Is there a .ini file which I could manually set this, because it doesn't seem to be saved. The weather loads though. I have shared the appropriate folders/drives on client/FS9 computers. Here are the messages I get:1. Your FS Folder was not located on this machine. Please browse to it in the next screen...2. Your FS Folder is set to xxxGMicrosoft GamesFlight Simulator 9. Now SAVE your OPTIONS to apply this new location to your settings...3. Error during FS station database check (Step 3)... Stations may not be properly configu…

Latley Im seeing TAT's in upwards of 70C while on the ground. Also getting them from ATIS. When i refresh the ASX weather it goes back to normal for a minute or so then the temps start rising again and my altimeter starts going a little cuckoo, not sure if this is an ASX data issue or maybe an FSUIPC issue. This has happened within the past week or so.

Gentlemen:I'd like to add some additional observations regarding winds and temps aloft straying far from reality. I own both AS 6.5 (which I use on FS9) and ASX. My FSX and FS9 installations are on two separate computers.I have been using AS 6.5 primarily, until recently. I had many FSX issues, which prevented me from really using the new sim at all (much less with the real world WX provided by ASX.) Most of those issues involved VISTA on the FSX computer. I have recently removed VISTA, and installed XP (SP2) which has solved almost all my FSX problems. My ASX installation is updated to SP2, and I am using the latest FSUIPC 4.25 with Peter's new wind smoothing fix applied.…

I'm running both FS9 and FSX. Today I downloaded and installed B333.FSX loads fine, but when I switch to FS9 it takes 20-30 minutes to load. Once loaded, I can move to FSX with no problem, but when I again switch to FS9 I have to wait 20-30 minutes. It does this every time.
