Must be a stupid question but here it is:Until now I use to fly FSX using the "real-world weather (with updates)" option and my custom settings include also the cloud coverage density and draw distance. When I will have installed Active Sky X and X Graphics and then will run FSX, what about these settings? What shall I have to choose?I can't understand how ASX settings could override FSX ones, since FSX will be started after ASX.In other words: what shall I have to check as 3-Current Weather options and in the SettingsWeayher page?

Okay, here's my problem(s):1) I have tried to configure ASX to run on the same system as FSX, but whenever I try to apply the weather, I get an error message that says "UnHandled Exception- Value cannot be null". After this, the program does NOT freeze up or anything, but neither does any weather load into FSX. 2) I have followed the instructions on setting up ASX on a client system, with FSX on a server system, and after numerous attempts, and LOTS of rechecking of the .xml .ini and .cfg files, reading over the documentation over and over, I cannot get the two to communicate. I have also done the following in an effort to figure this out: 1-complete FSX reinstall, comple…

Ok Im at the end of my rope after weeks of trying to fix this. I have had AS working on a widefs system for along time. I recently got a new machine I and did a brand new setup of everything. Active sky remains disconnected. It says that I have to to set the path in the ini file but I checked it out and it is mapped correctly plus everyother program works fine. I have tried re-installing about 10 times now but nothing, I also noticed that its keeping previous info should'nt after an uninstall all the data should be fresh, is it in the registry, I don't know why all of a sudden Im getting all these problems.Ian

I've had AS for over a year now and had to reload after FS9 reload. The AS6.5 weather engine works fine but whenever I select ASG, I get a fatal error box "fatal Execution Engine Error 0x7927e03c...then I click exit and I get a warning box saying "ASG.exe application has generated an exception that could not be handled" Process ID = oxb60 (2912) Thread ID = oxbc(2908)"....hmmmmTried uninstalling and reinstalling twice--same same.I do have GE Pro and Flight Environment loaded. I've been using ASv6.5 for the dynamic weather and FE for the cloud/sky texture etc.I have NET 1.1 installed.ThanksF15DriverAMD FX-62 dual coreNvidia 7950 GX2 (1GB GPU)4 GB Corsair DDRRaptor 10000 r…

Hi,I am using FSX. A couple of days ago, encouraged by my previous FS9 AS experience, I installed ASX and XGraphics. Since then I have noticed a couple of odd things. The first thing is that when airborne, at almost any altitude, I get severe wind share and turbulence throwing me all over the place. I also get severe hikes in air speed of several tens of knots. Causing over speeds and stalls left right and centre. Looking at wind speed and direction it sometimes very rapidly causing the AP to bank and throttle like mad to counter. And sometimes causing the nose to turn and veer several degrees.Next, there I am belting down the runway, just as I reach v2 and pull back on th…

i've been looking at ASX and XG and it looks like a pretty impressive combination. i'm very interested in purchasing the bundle, so i've been reading the documentation on the hifi website (very nice site, btw).before i go ahead and purchase this, i just wanna understand exactly how this works, as some things were not clear to me in the documentation...1) ASX needs to be running behind FSX, correct? when do you apply the weather? during the flight planning screen? or do you have to actually load a flight first (i.e. be in the cockpit)?2) i understand that XG works in conjunction with ASX, where the appropriate XG textures are chosen based on the weather. but say i decide t…

Hi,I followed the network configuration instructions to a T and I cannot get ASX to communicate from the Client computer to the Server computer where FSX resides.I couldn't figure out how to configure Port 500 within windows firewall and that may be the problem. Also, my Track Ir4 no longer works as I am thinking that it may be using the same port as ASX.I have FSX deluxe version updated to the hilt, any ideas fellas? Thanks a bunch.

When i 1st bought Active sky x a few months ago if i remember right they were working on fsuipc to make the weather changes smooth and were having a heck of a time with it but i may be wrong. This hobby is almost just a full time job now keeping up with all of it so i'm just checking if it has been corrected. Not a real big deal but if it is fixed i'd like to get the fix in . When i'm on Flynet if your over speed 250 knots in indian territory {below 10,000} you get dinged 5% on your flight and some times that's what happens and i get a spike and get hit with a 5% fine. Thanks guys-- Louis

Maybe I have just missed this in the manual, and if so I apologize for asking the question. In a prior version of AS, I recall there was a feature that generated a time-spanned wx if a series of metars were downloaded for each hour over the time of the flight. AS would look at the relative time of the flight (not real time, of course, since it's looking at metars), and interpolate conditions over each hour of the flight. This was expecially interesting if the wx was changing dramatically at the flight destination over the period.I can't see how to invoke this feature in ASX, unless it's automatically doing it if any flight in historical time takes place and there is an…

Could someone explain what effect,if any, the use of XG runway, taxiway textures would have with 3rd party airport sceneries? In otherwords if you allow XG to install into FSX would they be overwritten by specific airport scenery textures or indeed conflict or enhance the specific textures.Nigel ThomasUK

Since first posting this query a while ago, I have now installed the latest 3D Redux light package.Should I disable the airport lighting features in X Graphics or will both packages work well together?

Starting with a fresh install of FSX SP2, ASX SP3 and X Graphics SP2, I deselected "Aircraft strobe" and "Landing lights" in the X Graphics "Advanced install options" to avoid the issue with the down-ward shining landing lights reported here: http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=sho...39968&mode=fullHowever, after letting ASX install weather-influenced textures, the landing light problem was back, so I restored the original FSX textures. My question is, does the "weather-influenced" texture install ignore the options I've selected in X Graphics, or did I deselect the wrong options in X Graphics?Tom

Hi Jim,I got a problem with ASV6.5 build 536 (FS9), when it comes to update and apply wx METAR for USHH. ASV6.5 recognises the existence of USHH, starts the FS9 wx update, but gets stuck at the point of "Writing Station data" to UACC. I added USHH in the "complete airports list" in the proper syntax, but no good. Note that USHH is listed in "wx stations list".Any ideas ?Thanks,Sotiris.
