Hi everyoneI have been using active sky for over 2 years with no problems.On new pc built(asus striker extreme mobo ,q6600 cpu) I get the following message when active sky starts up'sim connect (sp1) was not able to load.active sky will continue to loadbut will not update fsx weather'. can somebody please tell what sim connect is and where can I download it from-I have the basic fsx.Looking forward to your help.Qas

Hello All,Im having a recurring issue the past few days and I was wondering if anyone could help. I am attempting to depart VTBS enroute to YSSY and for some reason my PMDG 744 struggles to make FL310. I noted that the temperature for the area at FL300 should be around -22C or so, and is being depicted as -3. With that being said, maintaining cruise speed at FL310 is nearly impossible, especially if there is a TS in the area. Clearing all WX through a registered copy of FSUIPC cleares all issues, but refresing the WX through AS brings me back to square one. By the way, this is with and without using VATSIM weather selected, and with a flight plan entered into AS.Now …

I have heard many good things about ASX and would be interested in it, but I've had some experience at a friend who has it which suggests ASX doesn't work properly with limited user accounts.The application seems to force the user to run it as an administrator, and refuses to connect with FSX when the latter is running in a limited account.Ostensibly the reason for this is that ASX needs to be able to modify FSX files. On my system however, my limited account has write permissions to the FSX folder so this shouldn't be a problem.Can ASX run under a limited user account, with FSX running that way too?Thanks in advance.

HiJust reinstalled FSMETEO, and flew EGLL to EDDF no problems in temps at all, all normal. I just bought lvld's 767 and flew last night using ASX temps climbed the same as the plane, i.e 15deg C on the ground at FL180 +26deg C FL260 +34deg C. Done the same flight using FSMETEO no probs, -15deg C @ FL260.can I get ASX back to its original state before SP3????? or can I reinstall it and use SP2 only ?? Not sure I still have the original install file now, can I re-download that to try again ??Please advise as this is so irritating. Does the same with PMDG 747, and default MS planes. Hello,I am running ASX (SP3 installed) together with XGraphics on a networked computer. Vista32bit and FSX SP2 with only SDK 1a.Everything works fine as far as flights in Europe are concerned. I did now several flights on the Argentina IFR Tour on IVAO and experienced heeavy wind shifts above FL240. The direction of the winds reported on the "Report" site of ASX are different from the winds you can look at the "Map" site with wind turned on at the current flight level.The winds coming through to FSX are those from the "Map" site, but sometimes ASX tries to go back to the reported winds on the "Report" site, resulting in extreme wind shifts. We need to troubleshoot a bit first:What ASX settings are you using?In FSX is weather marked to Used Defined while ASX is running?Does ASX recognize your current location in FSX?Is it possible to post a screen shot?With your "mark1" XGraphics theme are you using one of the clear Cirrus(ovc) textures either Overcast 4 or Overcast 5? Hi guys, how have you been?I'm getting a simconnect error, and when I load ASX i get a message that says "Receive problem: Object variable not set within block."I've been looking for the trouble shooting section under documentation but it is just not there. I've tried uninstalling ASX reinstalling FSX then sp1, then ASX and still no joy. Any ideas? Thanks.

Sorry if this is addressed somewhere here on the forum. I searched and never found anything relevant.I would like to add the xgauge to the vc (particularly the c172.g1000). I tried simply copying the gauge from the popup window into one of the two vc windows in panel.cfg but it only shows up where there are existing gauges. I'd like to put the xgauge in that blank panel area over on the passenger's side of the cockpit but of course, there is no "projection screen" over there. I have some knowledge of how these panels work as I have used FS Panel Studio for years modifying the 2D panels but I have never worked with the VCs before. I understand they are compiled into t…

Hi everyone..I now own Active sky X and X-graphics and have a problem.I open both fine and in X-graphics I choose the settings I want and I saved them to a new theme called mark1.I hit install "theme" and all goes well. My theme is then in FSX and works fine.My PROBLEM happens when I go to Active sky X and go to the "report" page and click on the Button at the bottom of the page "Install XGraphics textues".I click it and it installs fine but says its installing the custom set."Installing theme: Custom. it says. Then I click OK. But in FSX it is the default theme not my saved theme?Why does it not install my theme I created and saved called "mark1" ?hope that makes sense.…

Hi,I'm using ASX together with FEX, ASX is running on a client pc. When ASX generates the weather I got these thin cloud layers (probably stratus or cirrus clouds). They really spoil the whole cloud experience. When I open the weather dialog in FSX I see only cumulus cloud layers. When I clear all the weather and then enter these cloud layers by hand I don't get these thin layers. I have had ASX for some time and have had no problem. In the past few days however it keeps telling me the date is wrong and that i need to choose a date from 1-1-07 to current, after checking that all dates seems to be fine and it is set on current date and time. I am trying to test AS6.5 as an engine for FSX..I keep getting errors whilt testing in FS9 that I've never had before.....Here is my set up so far......This is on an old XP machine,getting ready for the return of my Vista machine 64..AS6.5 was already installed as was FS9I installed FSX for test purposes a while ago....If I put the FSUPIC 4 into FS9 and load FS9 I geta message that there is a compatibatilty issue and if I select to load anyway,FS9 just goes away......So i removed that version and included the one that comes with AS6 into the Modules folder..Same thing happens,but if I choose not to load it i get errors but FS9 loads and AS6.5 works..But no in cockpit mess…

Hi Jim,As I see, distant stratus clouds do not show properly recently.I tried with the FS9 weather option (distance showing clouds) increasing & decreasing values but no good. The clouds are depicted with a pencil-like contour, slightly greyer and not reallistic, as they used to be. No problem with the clouds being closer. Any ideas ? Also sometimes clouds are shown sharply cut(!) with a missing sector looking like a perfect rectangle.Another bothering issue is that sometimes ASv6 (build 536) doesn't follow the departure airport baro pressure (QNH), but that of the arrival one several hundreds NM away.
