The AVSIM Screen Shots Forum
Have a favorite screen shot of your simulator that you would like to share? You can by posting it here. Please follow image posting rules (below). Images must be hosted on an image hosting website. Please use prefixes to identify the simulator you are using (see pinned topic for guidance). Please include information about the screenshot(s) such as location (flight plan?), the aircraft, weather engine, scenery (i.e., Orbx/FTX, GEX, FSDT, FlightBeam, FlyTampa, etc.).
Screenshot Image Posting Rules
- Images must be hosted on your own image server site, such as Drop Box, Google Drive, Photobucket.com, OZx Image Hosting, or a website that you own. See guidance at following link - http://www.avsim.com/topic/479802-how-do-i-post-a-screenshot/
- Images can be of any size; however, be considerate of your fellow AVSIM members as large photos will take longer to load for some members who do not have fast Internet connections.
- Images will automatically be resized to fit the viewer's screen width. This process is done automatically by the AVSIM website program.
- No more than 20 images per thread (topic). Moderators will remove any image that exceed this requirement.
- AVSIM members are reminded of the AVSIM Terms of Service in respect to images, and copyrighted and intellectual property. Images that violate our policies regarding copyrights and family safe environment will be removed and, depending on the severity of violation, user suspended or banned from AVSIM.
- Images copyrighted on other websites such as Airliners.net are not allowed and will be removed immediately.

OK...the scenario I've hypothesized for my post, here, in my right as the virtual (make-believe) Pilot-in-Command of the Jumbo 747-8...🙂..., is not completely preposterous. After all, there are non-stop (direct) flights from Germany to the West Coast of U.S. (and possibly Alaska). I was checking a bit, just now...e.g., a Condor Flight 2032, is en-route, as I write this, from EDDF (Frankfurt), already in the air for ~10 hours, and will be arriving shortly, in another 30 minutes or so, at (KSEA) Seattle-Tacoma Airport. So, here we go, please find 20 pictures of my (symbolic) flight, within Alaska, from takeoff to touchdown, in the colors of a Boeing 747-8 (Lufthansa) C…

I don't know why but the Title seems to rhyme with a famous Movie of the 80s...🙂...Oh well...Anyway, to spice up a bit my (mundane and default) Beechcraft King Air 350i (I really need to get a better version of it on my Xbox when/if available...I like this a/c a lot...), I picked up today a set of new liveries of this a/c. In this livery pack, there are a few brightly colored repaints, including the Firecracker "Red" shown below in my images... I'm recalling an old trip of mine here...I've had my share of driving miles within U.S. (it was my preferred mode for domestic travel as opposed to air, surely no longer so...) ...I was thinking a bit today...the 3 cars I rec…

[First of all, myself, being on the "closed" Xbox system (and no 3rd-party software except for the PMDG 737NG), I'd thought I was immune to some of the vagaries of MSFS2020...🙂...But, yesterday, with/after the SU14 Update, my (Xbox) MSFS that has performed flawlessly for a few months now, came to a grinding stop...Blue "Progress" Bar stuck forever without reaching completion, the spinning while circle (loading) indicator endlessly spinning forever...🙂...Of course, there is no shortage of advice (on-line) how to fix these issues, but nothing worked for me. Finally, without the mood (or time) for further trial & error...I sought advice from my teen, the Xbox guru (who, …

There is something very unique and mysterious about the "self-standing" (sometimes called "free-standing") mountains. They exist in their lonely habitat, in the middle of vast plains and flatlands, not associated nor identified with other mountains of an extended mountain range. In this category, Mt Kilimanjaro, is one and unique. It's unanimously and unquestionably the highest "free-standing" mountain in the world (Mt Fuji being the world's second highest "free-standing" mountain). Mt Kilimanjaro (see images below) stands isolated amidst the surrounding plains of the African savannah, reaching up impressively to 20,000 ft into the sky. The geological explanation is …

The WB-SIM C172 parked at Kern Valley (L05) early in the morning. It's cold out there. I enjoyed a hot coffee at the Kern Valley Restaurant: Let's get into the sun to warm up Carefully getting down to runway 17 Nice reminder on the taxiway. It's around zero celsius and the density altitude is fine today. Hello the camper! Holding point 17. Isabella Lake in the background. The autumn trees by REX Accuseason doesn't work very well here. The route for today, as seen from Foreflight: Taking off and a last look at the main apron: Climbing 9'500 ft heading south: The a…

Still undecided about the new F-14. Not concerned with the flight model or authenticity, and zero interest in the whole Top Gun thing, but I'll wait until people start posting external pix of the thing before I decide. I have the JF/DCD version, and unless the new one is significantly better in its external model I'll probably stick as I am. @hs118 kindly posted a pic of the cockpit textures in response to a query I posted in another forum here, and that was impressive but I have very little interest in cockpits. This sort of aircraft is a bit like the Vulcan for me, I'm kind of interested in these aircraft to be able to see them in my MSFS world, but not in the least bi…

Burning Blue Design's EGZW, Got Friends' freeware Fokker, and the generally splendiferous MSFS countryside. Shots from two different explorations, hence the two liveries. A nice little flight, and just up the road from Sarfend, so the old Fokker got to visit the pier again (can I say that?)

Located on the Arctic Ocean, 330 miles north of the Arctic Circle, (formerly called) Barrow (the new official name being "Utqiagvik") is one of the northernmost towns in the world but with a sizeable human population of about 4,500. The nearby Point Barrow is the northernmost piece of land in all of U.S. It's off this Point Barrow, 15 miles out into the ocean, in 1935, where the famous aviator Wiley Post and the actor/humorist Will Rogers had lost their lives, when their plane had crashed into a lagoon after an engine failure. The airport (PABR), I'm lifting off from, here, is named after these two iconic individuals. Barrow conjures up (always has for me) the stark …

Ohio...I know (or more correctly, used to know) well...Now, with my penchant and passion for mountains, that was kindled (once) at the sight of the majestic and incomparable Himalayas, MSFS has offered a wonderful way to explore these places on Earth...right off the base implementation without the need for any payware, and I've already explored many such places...🙂...So, I must say, here, right away that Ohio has no (major) mountains, it's mountain-free. I was looking back today a bit more carefully at the Map/Terrain display of the Garmin MFD, of my (KORD->KMSY) 1000 miles trip (if you wish, please see my earlier post and examine shot #6) and I noticed, how my F…

We take off from Bugalaga in the Indonesian part of New Guinea and fly to a little known airstrip called Tomosiga Tomosiga comes up in the distance The strip at Tomosiga is 370 m long, at a 2,700 ft elevation and comes with several slopes and ondulations It is slightly S-shaped with a rather narrow center section. The ground is always a bit slippery and of course, in places like this, there is no go around! The place opened in 2019. Hard to believe, but it took some 31 years to be built and it is still today a work in progress Every single p…

I hope you enjoy these pics where I finally get to enjoy the Piper M500 from FSReborn. I've done a lot with the painting along with Tim-HH (we tend to share ideas and paint parts hehe). I wanted to give it a good flight to get to know the plane more. I depart FlyTampa's CYYZ on the DEDKI5 TULEG to CAM for the CDOGG4 arrival into PWM...and finish up with an ILS RY 29 at sunset. Part 1 covers departure, climb, and cruise. Part 2 is essentially TOD, approach and landing. I've mentioned in another post that I'm not a fan of the Vulcan - it just looks coarse to me, as if it was designed by a bunch of schoolkids and the plans drawn up with crayons. But it is sort of a part of my childhood, what with the Observer's and other similar books, and I suspected I'd probably get it in the end. Didn't wait too long as it happens because I saw this livery when I was looking around on flightsim.to and thought it made the beast a lot prettier to my eyes. I still think it's basically an ugly Ess Oh Bee (assuming those initials are offensive to the ridiculous nannying here), but I'll live with it. Hedgehopping in this will be fun, I suspect. Out of c…

I had converted this back when 2020 was fairly fresh, but it no longer works for me now. I guess one of the SUs did for it. It was never a fully functioning conversion, but now it just goes completely haywire if used, I can load it, but the only way to get airborne is to slew it, and when you come out of slew mode it it just goes apesh*t but if you can hang on to the controls you occasionally get a few seconds of level flight and good behaviour. Just about long enough to grab a screenshot if you're quick on the pause button. I did email AH about this but they said that much as they loved the beast, it had never sold well and was unfortunately unlikely to make it on t…

can you tell what it is yet? Why, it's the Bristol Type 188! Another one of the great British projects that never made it into production in the '50s/'60s. This rather fine freeware model is available on .to, and looks and flies really well. Heading out of Filton, appropriately enough, and then off for a scurry across the south of England to see if we can a few sonic booms going. Rattle a few windows, that sort of thing. Came out of Fliton heading west and going like a rocket even before I manage to turn it round. Too fast to attempt to go under the bridge, but hey, next time, maybe climbing Isle of Wight in the distance M25 below us, Heathro…
