The AVSIM Screen Shots Forum

Have a favorite screen shot of your simulator that you would like to share? You can by posting it here.  Please follow image posting rules (below).  Images must be hosted on an image hosting website. Please use prefixes to identify the simulator you are using (see pinned topic for guidance). Please include information about the screenshot(s) such as location (flight plan?), the aircraft, weather engine, scenery (i.e., Orbx/FTX, GEX, FSDT, FlightBeam, FlyTampa, etc.).

Screenshot Image Posting Rules

  • Images must be hosted on your own image server site, such as Drop Box, Google Drive, Photobucket.com, OZx Image Hosting, or a website that you own.  See guidance at following link - http://www.avsim.com/topic/479802-how-do-i-post-a-screenshot/
  • Images can be of any size; however, be considerate of your fellow AVSIM members as large photos will take longer to load for some members who do not have fast Internet connections.
  • Images will automatically be resized to fit the viewer's screen width. This process is done automatically by the AVSIM website program.
  • No more than 20 images per thread (topic). Moderators will remove any image that exceed this requirement.
  • AVSIM members are reminded of the AVSIM Terms of Service in respect to images, and copyrighted and intellectual property. Images that violate our policies regarding copyrights and family safe environment will be removed and, depending on the severity of violation, user suspended or banned from AVSIM.
  • Images copyrighted on other websites such as Airliners.net are not allowed and will be removed immediately.
  1. [This is a follow-up of a comment exchanged in the recent bernd post on "Leaving Dianangat, PNG".] The Andes Mountains are as majestic and unparalleled as the incomparable Himalayas...with the great Mount Everest going against the fearsome (stratovolcano) Chimborazo since the earliest creation. We all know the former to be the highest on Earth, but here is a less known fact: Mount Chimborazo's summit is the furthest point on Earth from Earth's center, nearly 7,000 ft farther from Earth's center than Mount Everest's summit. Set in the backdrop of these Andes surroundings, are the Magdalena River, and Avianca of Colombia, world's second oldest living airline...Avianc…

Found some excellent new freeware scenery so I did a flight from KBID to KSYR (Verticalsim) in the Aerobask DA50RG. The new diamond single is a joy to fly and I was able to sit in one at Oshkosh... it's just a unique plane that is very modern. I'd love to own one someday! Not been doing much simming of late (real world stuff plus setting XP back up), but almost back in to it now. A few random shots from things I've bought or visited recently. Can't even remember where some of them were. So many places, so little time! Hardly ever take the A320 out, but spotted this livery I had so thought I'd see what it looked like I think this was on the way to Southampton But not sure where this was Supercarrier Pro at San Diego Even in the sim, everybody's got their phone up against their ear all the time! Congonhas While I'm making my mind up about the LVFR A330 I grabbed the Headwind version. I like the look of it …

  9. Testing out this gorgeous and highly detailed new Airbus H160 Helicopter from Hype Performance Group--what an amazing addition to the hangar! Starting out on the corporate ramp at the equally beautiful new KMSP from Flightbeam, across Minneapolis to Crystal Airport near Brooklyn Center. Leaving there it was back down across the city and out into the fields to stop for the night and set up camp!

  10. A long while ago, for nearly 10 years, I used to travel once a year from Columbus (OH) to Washington D.C. / Maryland (a distance of over 400 miles) to visit friends and family, around the Holiday season. So, the route and its landmarks got imprinted in my memory. Basically, I would take I-70 eastward, crossing into Pennsylvania just before Pittsburgh, and then, at New Stanton, I-76 would merge with I-70 to form the PA Turnpike. The Turnpike runs lengthwise across PA, between Pittsburgh and Philadelphia. I would get off the Turnpike at Breezewood, a most curious (and very congested) motorist-service oriented town, marked by a large Rest Area (and Truck Stop). My passenger …

Folks: 4 pictures of the same flight, as in my earlier post, this time with a Twin...🙂...the King Air 350...I've chosen dusk light for this flight and flown the (same) 80 miles from Chicago (KORD) to South Bend (KSBN) across Lake Michigan. It got dark when I got there. Winter is already in the air around here (e.g., the mornings are getting darker and darker...getting harder to wake up at 6am...🙂..., and the Daylight-Saving Time ends in 2 weeks for us, here). If you wish to know some more details, please refer to my earlier post. Thanks for viewing and good flying...!

  13. Sometimes the SIM is a wonderful device to divert our mind, albeit briefly, from these troubled times...Today, as I was flying over the Smoky Mountains in MSFS2020, recalling my many trips to that region, the 80s/90s felt so different. For several years, I used to visit the Smokies once every year, including one memorable (winter wonderland) trip during Christmas time. After navigating the mountainous (country) roads, perfectly cleaned and salted, but with layers of fresh/white snow on either side and on the trees, I'd reached Gatlinburg, late (very late) in the night. Those were the days you had to call-in to reserve your (hotel) accommodation (internet-based transaction…

  14. The Sierra Nevada Mountain Range, in the Western U.S., equally majestic and rugged, but distinct and separate from its better-known sibling, the Rockies, has always fascinated me. Though I've visited the Rockies up/close, on several occasions, I've never visited the Sierra Nevada except overflying it in commercial flights...and always been on the lookout for it during such flights...🙂... There has been also one particular side-story, from the period of westward migration, that of the (ill-fated) Donner Party, associated with this Mountain Range. The event is regarded by historians as one of the most fascinating tragedies of the entire migration era, symbolized by ext…

After reaching Rusty Barge on my way to Chunilna, it was time to break camp to fly over Tatshenshini-Alsek Provincial Park, head West towards Yakutat, and find a way North of Kayak Island to find the Million Dollar Bridge and the Childs Glacier Airstrip. I tried something new, at least to me, creating a custom map with geolocalized photos so you can follow the trip (just click on the map, it'll redirect you to the MyMaps) Early morning in Rusty Barge, 0°C (32°F), not enough to prevent the 2 Rotax to start. ~10 mn after take-off, Haines is waking up, and in the background is Chilkhoot Inlet, which lies North up to Skagway. I took a lit…

Hm. My very first try (!) to show you one of my pictures ... 😅 And now I start to sweat.. I understand that for best results we use something like Google Drive, flickr, et cetera et cetera . Until today, I don't own something like that. But I've tried to create a link, so that you only click on it to open my picture. Let's see if this link works. Due to hardware changes, this is a rather old picture, 7 or 8 months old, and I only begin to set up the simulator completely new. But nevertheless imho there's a certain beauty in this picture. From EDDF to PANC nonstop with Randazzos B744 PS: Now you ask me for the location of that picture. Somewhere in…

  24. It's a murky day here in the PNW of the USA. But it's a perfect day for an IFR flight from Bowerman to Orcas Island in the TBM 850. Cruise is 17,000 ft and routing is: KHQM ULESS T263 ARRIE ORCUS (RNAV 34) KORS By the time we reach FL170, we're nearly at TOD, so please enjoy the photos from my trip. Absolutely lovely HQM freeware from @vbazillio and KORS scenery by Orbx. My favorite colored livery by @Tim-HH! 25. Like a lot of people, I've been flying the new Black Square TBM 850 around like crazy. Most of my flying has been short hops, practice approaches, VFR sightseeing etc. This afternoon I wanted to stretch my legs and take her up to FL300. It's a little over a 2 hour flight from KMYL to KMRY in the TBM850. I didn't have much of a tailwind, (and had a heck of a crosswind). But she flew at book numbers and I ended up with about 320 kts over the ground for most of the trip. With a distance of 550+ miles I needed to split my adventure into two parts. Part 1 is taxi, takeoff, climb/cruise. Part 2 will be initial descent into the Bay area, and then onto Monterey. The stun…
