Screenshot Image Posting Rules
- Images must be hosted on your own image server site, such as Drop Box, Google Drive, Photobucket.com, OZx Image Hosting, or a website that you own. See guidance at following link - http://www.avsim.com/topic/479802-how-do-i-post-a-screenshot/

- Images will automatically be resized to fit the viewer's screen width. This process is done automatically by the AVSIM website program.
- No more than 20 images per thread (topic). Moderators will remove any image that exceed this requirement.
- AVSIM members are reminded of the AVSIM Terms of Service in respect to images, and copyrighted and intellectual property. Images that violate our policies regarding copyrights and family safe environment will be removed and, depending on the severity of violation, user suspended or banned from AVSIM.
- Images copyrighted on other websites such as Airliners.net are not allowed and will be removed immediately.

Years ago, one of the longest road-trips, I'd driven, was from the Chicago Suburbs all the way to the remarkable natural site, the (vast) Mississippi River Delta and the mouth and estuaries of the Mississippi River...And then back to Chicago...! The trip traverses 6 U.S. states and involves 975 miles (call it 1,000 miles rounded) that would require 14 hours of non-stop driving, from the Great Lakes directly south to the end of the mainland at Gulf of Mexico. I did stop overnight in Memphis (please see my close-up MFD display Route MAP, where I've marked the two major cities/airports (KSUS/St. Louis and KMEM/Memphis) enroute on this long journey). With one overnight …

Today, to add a bit of more variety to my (PMDG) 737-600, I picked up another pack of Liveries from the Xbox Marketplace. So, the two available Livery Packs (1 and 2), now gives me 20 (classic) airline liveries for this 736. It's to be noted that, for one more reason, there is control over the release of 737NG repaints for Xbox 737 users. It's a double-edged sword, so to speak...On one hand, you're guaranteed of accurate and consistent (PMDG) quality liveries (e.g., there is no possibility of wrong font for the logo, or mis-aligned name tag...🙂...not that I mind these occasional errors too much, especially when I would get the repaints for free from freeware contributors,…

My objective in this post was two-fold (1) Get more familiar with flying the MSFS/iniBuilds A310-300, please see my earlier A310 posts, if you wish (2) Explore the Mountains of Russia. I could not have imagined attempting the 2nd objective in any of my previous SIMs, but, even the (default) MSFS scenery offering a reasonable approximation of most regions of the world, I thought it was worth an exploration. After all, in our SIM, we often refer to (and feature) the Himalayas, the Andes, the Rockies, and the Alps, but rarely the Mountains of Russia. In my previous post, as I just traversed the plains and flatlands of Russia, in its Western part (the European part, so to spe…

Originally coming into existence as “Siberia Airlines”, and later rebranded as S7, here is an airline, best recognized for its unmistakable bright green livery...I clearly recall (flying) its (early generation) 737s (and 767s), from the past SIMs. Once an exclusive operator of the (legacy and Soviet era) Tu-154 and Tu-204 a/c, it went on to boldly embrace the new age of transportation, and with the adaptation of western a/c such as the (A320/A321) Neos and 737 MAXs, it became a (regular) "Boeing/Airbus" airline in Russia, boasting one of the most modern fleets in the Russian private airline sector. The airline has been recently a victim of the world affairs...with al…

Got these two recently, went to check them out. A mixed bag. Distinctly unimpressed with the KIAH. OK'ish as an external model, but nothing special but with all sorts of cheap touches. The tower looks good from the outside but it's all fake - there is no interior Same with the transit station below. Yes, there's a moving train but no interior to the station so, not worth hanging around here for any length of time a quick pass through downtown which has much better quality PG than Calgary (see my other recent post) and on to FSimStudios KHOU which is also, IMO, a lot better than their CYYC …

It’s early morning as we prepare for departure with D-ALIN D-ALIN gained fame, as our first chancellor Konrad Adenauer flew with this plane to Moscow in Sept. 1955 (his first visit to Russia ever) to successfully negotiate ten years after WWII the release of over 100.000 POWs from Russian prison camps When he entered the flightdeck on this flight, Adenauer hit his head at the door frame, so the captain was wiping off some blood from his forehead Above Macau The Ha Long Bay looks better in real life We have reached Yangoon …

First flight in the Mi-17. Found it a bit wobbly but I dare say I'll get used to it. Had a quick look at the manual but didn't strike me as useful (for my purposes, anyway). I'm sure there'll be some youtubes on it before long so I might get some tips there. Out from 1G4 at the Canyon, off to Vegas. Bit of exploration around 1G4 as well, - nice little bit of scenery for under £4 in the sale. Anyway, enjoy - I like the look of most of the big old Soviet choppers, and this is no exception. And who knows, I might even get able to fly it smoothly. On this first flight it w…

A short while ago, I'd recounted here, via a SIM post, memory bits of a fascinating road trip, I'd taken on the Pacific Coastal Highway, from San Francisco to Santa Barbara (I read today somewhere, "California's coast-hugging Highway 1 is what dream drives are made of...") ...Yes, true it is. The scenic adventure indeed offers dramatic vistas overlooking the Pacific Ocean, along with the picturesque (overhanging) jagged rocky cliffs, distant mountains, and vibrant green vegetations, plus many other (touristy) attractions, along the way... Today, I was recalling a bit of an equally fascinating (short 3-and-half hr.) Train journey, I'd taken, years ago, further south o…

Just picked up the Orbx S43 and W16 pack - about 20 USD. I was a little skeptical because their P3D ported airports looked pretty bad (BUR/SBA etc). These ones are new native MSFS versions and while I haven't looked at W16 yet, I am very impressed with S43. They really did a nice job and if they continue this trend I could easily see myself picking up more PNW packages as they come out. Here's a fun VFR flight I flew via the mountain passes from S10 to S43. Cruised anywhere from 130-150 mph over the ground between 4500 - 8500 ft. I was just on the northern edge of a cold front which honestly made for some spectacular views. I hope you guys enjoy! Oh and of…
