Screenshot Image Posting Rules
- Images must be hosted on your own image server site, such as Drop Box, Google Drive, Photobucket.com, OZx Image Hosting, or a website that you own. See guidance at following link - http://www.avsim.com/topic/479802-how-do-i-post-a-screenshot/

Norway is a country known for its spectacular mountains, picturesque fjords, rugged cliffs, vibrant green forests, and simmering lakes. It's called the Land of the Midnight Sun because the country's northernmost region experiences sunlight 24/7 during summer months (June/July/August). So, I've set today's date, in my SIM, to July 15, mid-summer in Norway, (while it's bitter cold around here today...🙂...), for my first inspection of this beautiful Nordic scenery, with my light conditions, below, varying from bright daylight to evening glow in my images. In my previous SIMs, I'd virtually (but sufficiently) explored Norway. So, below are 19 pictures, from MSFS/Xbox, a…

Happy new year everybody! 1936 at last! Redwing haven't released their KLAX as yet, but I thought I'd see what they'd done with the cityscape in their base USA 1935 package. I haven't done side-by-side comparisons for the main areas, but this does feel suitably amended in general. I have a few books here on LA over the years so I'll check those out and see. This shouldn't be here, I believe. I went looking to see what Chavez Ravine would look like, but Dodger Stadium is still here in this scenery although it didn't arrive for real until the '60s. Maybe some of this stuff will change when KLAX comes out. But the Griffith Observatory was opened in 1…

It's always fascinating being able to explore, in our virtual world, places away from our own. So, we find folks here, your truly included, firing up our virtual (jet or prop) transport of choice, and often roaming the foreign lands...🙂...all without having to step outside the front door. Today, however, I stay near the familiar...without crossing any international borders...Oh well...except for just a tiny bit, see below. Now, first fact is that the U.S. Midwest region is essentially flatlands. So, after (recently) scaling...🙂...the summits of the tallest of mountain peaks...whether it's Tintin's "Gosainthān" in Asia, or the "Galdhøpiggen" in Norway, or the "Zugspitze" i…

[While tidying up a bit, today, I came across the (comic) book "Tintin in Tibet" hidden in the back of the bookshelf...and I was reminded that the plot involved a DC-3 a/c in the Himalayas...so, here we go...] The Tintin character has been a favorite of mine as long as I can remember, where the fearless young reporter travels the world to deliver justice and take care of the bad guys...🙂.... Out of all the Tintin books, my most favorite is Tintin in Tibet. It must be noted that all the Tintin books were very well-researched by the creator, the (Belgian) artist and author, Hergé. And for aviation enthusiasts, there are several of Tintin's adventures, that involve all sorts…

One more flight from 1935, and then maybe I'll try out my new A300-600 at Dubai next. Heading out from KSWF and down the Hudson to NYC, in the rather splendid Tri-Motor. I'd not really used this at all before, but it fits in so well now I'm in time travel mode. Passing Nyack now Probably as noisy and cold as the Norse bad boys' afterlife destination, but looks quite luxurious and swish Redwing have a 1935 version of LA in the pipeline, and I'm particularly looking forward to that.

Still setting things up for 1935. Wanted to see what Redwing had done re JFK in this setup (it shouldn't be there, of course) so set off from KLDJ planning to do a circuit out over (KJFK) and back round to KEWR. Also, I've been less than impressed with Accuseasons' winter foliage (thick brown leaf everywhere) so I'm using the latest Bijans here, plus Floyds Epic Clouds. And I also realised that quite a few other planes in my hangar are eligible for this setup, so this flight's in the Staggerwing. Still finding this all fascinating stuff. So, out from KLDJ, south of KEWR, and heading east to investigate the future home of Idlewild / JFK. And there it is…

If you're wondering... just what am I buying when I purchase the new early access FSW Learjet 35 - well I wanted to show off some closeups - because the pics in discord don't really do it justice. I don't beta test for FSW so I didn't get a beta copy. I love GA though, and I enjoyed the heck out of this jet in P3D. FSW told me they will be making a paint kit and it will have a 3d model for those of us using Blender and or Substance Painter. From what I understand, PSDs should also be available - the textures don't seem too terribly complex. Yes, there are definitely bugs, especially if you're using the TDS GTN 750Xi - notably the altitude select (aka altitude…

Today the route will be... hum... should be VFR. But the real MSFS weather didn't agree. But it's in the sim and I want to continue testing SayIntentions AI ATC with this expected 45 minutes flight. Should be challenging to depart with this weather and catch Flight Following to finally certainly reach clear-sky at Banning (screen shots from iPad ForeFlight). At Atlantic FBO with FreakyD freeware LongBeach KLGB v4: https://flightsim.to/file/1499/daugherty-field-long-beach-ca-usa-klgb I use the FLY chart to navigate in this congested Los Angeles area (screen shots from iPad ForeFlight): The weather is really not really VFR compatible for my plan, at…

Thought I'd have a look at Liverpool, haven't been there in a while. Put a bit of snow on the ground to make it seasonal, and off we went. Out past the mouth of the Mersey and up the coast and then spotted some sort of offshore rig in the distance. I had not long put the Aerosoft North Sea package on the system and was aware it also covered the Irish sea so thought I'd go take a look Glad I did, it's a rather fine model and looks good here heading back in towards land now, Blackpool coming up next So many places, so little time.

See my previous post on KSFO 1935 for explanation, I'll just post the pix here without further comment other than to say that I was well impressed with the NY imagery as well as the two airports. I think, from memory, this was finished in 1934, so would have been very "state of the art" here Welcome to KLGA! And there's plenty more out there to play with, including the likes of the Hindenburg to arrive soonish, apparently

I'm not a bizjet guy but I do have very fond memories of learning the fine art of shooting touch'n goes with the wireframe Learjet way back when in the FS4 days circa 1984 or 5 or thereabouts. So I couldn't resist the temptation to pick up the new FlySimWare Lear 35A and try my hand at it again after all this time. Lots of fun to look around and spend time figuring out how to crank it up from cold & dark and get the ol' gal ready for a trip around the pattern, Suffice to say I love the way it flies and feel this is the rebirth of a beautiful relationship. Not perfect yet (fr'instance, got the doors open after landing and shutting down but textures not comple…

OK, I've never heard of a sightseeing (VFR) flight with an FBW modern (commercial) Jet a/c, equipped with full lateral and vertical navigation guidance, max speed of 540 mph and a ceiling altitude of nearly 40,000 ft...🙂...Oh well... Anyway, I wished to fly (for the first time) the MSFS/Xbox A320neo in AF colors, today, along with my new installation of the MSFS (optional) Scenery Update for France region, wishing to test this Update for myself (France is a country that I've never had a chance to explore, in the past, in my (past) SIM world...) ... So, I have set up, here, a low-altitude flight (flown at 10,000 ft or less) with my A320neo, this a/c equipped with…

While looking at the Marketplace sales a few days back I noticed a few products produced by Redwing that were for 1935 versions of a couple of airports, one of which was KSFO. I've always had a bit of a thing about the 1890-1935 'ish period and how the world looked and worked back then, so grabbed it. Oddly enough, shortly afterwards Bernd posted a set of pix using another of their range but in Berlin. So I checked out their website and they have a whole bunch of things going on there. Never mind MSFS2024, they're working on MSFS1935! So I went back to the marketplace (unfortunately, they only seem to sell on there) and just did a search for "Redwing" and found all s…

Had to get this. Lovely aircraft. And works for me. (ctrl-e, wot, me, RTFM? never). Jump straight in and away. Flies beautifully. Wasn't in it long enough to find out if there's built in engine damage and the like, so I may yet end up reading at least part of the manual. But first - hooliganism! All stock scenery as I just wanted a quick try out, and when I saw the livery options realised it had been big in Oz, I guess Bit of a giveaway this Oh look, there's another clown here already Happy hols to all my fellow serious simmers!

Some picture of the last update of Montgomery Field KMYF free at https://flightsim.to/file/5856/montgomery-gibbs-exec-airport-taxiway-fix-and-many-more Sometime fix and improvement don't pop-up in the face at first sight. If you look closely at marking of the real runway 28R/10L at KMYF, the aiming point and touchdown zone are only visible on runway 28R and not on 10L. This requires a lot of work just to match the reality 😉 I also take the opportunity to enhanced and fix several taxiways and holding point to better blend and match with the underlying texture of runways 28/10. Hope you enjoy even if it's not that much visible. Just a matter of…
