The AVSIM Screen Shots Forum
Have a favorite screen shot of your simulator that you would like to share? You can by posting it here. Please follow image posting rules (below). Images must be hosted on an image hosting website. Please use prefixes to identify the simulator you are using (see pinned topic for guidance). Please include information about the screenshot(s) such as location (flight plan?), the aircraft, weather engine, scenery (i.e., Orbx/FTX, GEX, FSDT, FlightBeam, FlyTampa, etc.).
Screenshot Image Posting Rules
- Images must be hosted on your own image server site, such as Drop Box, Google Drive, Photobucket.com, OZx Image Hosting, or a website that you own. See guidance at following link - http://www.avsim.com/topic/479802-how-do-i-post-a-screenshot/
- Images can be of any size; however, be considerate of your fellow AVSIM members as large photos will take longer to load for some members who do not have fast Internet connections.
- Images will automatically be resized to fit the viewer's screen width. This process is done automatically by the AVSIM website program.
- No more than 20 images per thread (topic). Moderators will remove any image that exceed this requirement.
- AVSIM members are reminded of the AVSIM Terms of Service in respect to images, and copyrighted and intellectual property. Images that violate our policies regarding copyrights and family safe environment will be removed and, depending on the severity of violation, user suspended or banned from AVSIM.
- Images copyrighted on other websites such as Airliners.net are not allowed and will be removed immediately.

[In MSFS, one thing I always wish to see is how MSFS Default Scenery, without any add-on...compares to that for localities and regions I am quite used to from my past SIMs e.g., I'd sufficiently explored PAVD (Valdez) region before. So, here, I take an aerial tour of the same region in MSFS...] The beautiful coastal Port City of Valdez, AK, is located in Southcentral Alaska on the north shore of a deepwater fjord in Prince William Sound (site of the infamous Exxon Valdez oil spill). The city is surrounded by the majestic and rugged Chugach Mountains (see below), which are heavily glaciated (you will spot a few glaciers in my images below). Hope you enjoy this co…

Today, among my new set of (Global) liveries for the (Stock) Airbus A320neo, this "Vibrant Red" paint (see below) of PLAY (airline) caught my attention. PLAY is an Icelandic LCC operator headquartered in the country's capital of Reykjavík. It operates a fleet of Airbus A320neos, with a hub at Keflavík International Airport (which is where my PLAY A320neo, in this post, is arriving). "Pay Less, Play More" is the airline's slogan, "Just remember to play more at your destination because you're about to pay much less for your flight." So, here is a short flight across Iceland from north to south, from Akureyri Airport (BIAR) to Keflavík International Airport (BIKF) …

Until just several years ago, over the preceding period of about two decades, I must have taken the [KORD->EDDF] flight at least on 15 occasions (usually with Lufthansa but occasionally with United). I recall well that the LH flight no. was "431" (the reverse direction from FRA-to-ORD been "430"), which numbers, btw, are still in use by LH (for ORD-to-FRA and FRA-to-ORD legs respectively), as I found, on checking FlightAware today. We note, here, that Lufthansa has always had strong association with Boeing since the earliest times of Jet Transport. In 1965, Lufthansa, with an order 21 units, was the launch customer (and first non-American operator) for the first …

Heading out of stock KATL, overfly and peek at Atlanta with the SamScene cities in place. Don't seem to be heavily loaded, passenger wise (I do like to see a modelled cabin, but I'd really like to see at least some of the seats occupied) turning round out of KATL to the right and heading towards the city Pop out the drone and down for a quick tour No idea of the accuracy of the city scenery. I have been there but don't remember much about the place and anyway, that was probably 30 years ago now. Looks good in the sim though. a view of one of the engines and now from the inside! and a…

Got myself the Fly X Simulations' EFKS Kuusamo (via IniBuilds), and it's one of the best airports I've ever bought. Small, but beautifully done. Textures and lighting are incredible. These shots are mostly a tour of the airport with just a few shots of the departure and surrounds at the end. And with the FSR500 a pretty much perfect combination. Both highly recommended. Parked up on stand #5 time to inspect the airport I find the textures and reflections here stunning you can almost smell that leather and hear it squeaking And the tower is a work of art Looking at this blown up on my 55" screen at 4k and it's even mos…

On a recent flight into Pocatello I jumped to an exterior view to check on something in the landscape. I was pleasantly surprised with the manner in which the setting sun lit up the aircraft.

A few quick shots of a supposed VFR flight I did flying from Kołobrzeg (North-West poland on the coast) to świebodzice in the South on the Czech border. The weather started out pretty nice with a slight breeze, clear skies and pretty pleasant: ..but things started to cloud over and get bumpy heading south 30 minutes later, I started to descend just before the cloud cover and visibility degraded fast and the terrain started to rise up: ...and safely on the ground just in time.. wondering why I didn't check the weather before I left :)

[This investigative post is triggered by recent DC-3 mentions in this Forum.] Here is a most fascinating piece of aviation history...from a time when the legendary DC-3 ruled (air) transport, civil and military. For nearly 3 decades, a more reliable and capable replacement would elude the aviation companies, so, the Pilots remarked, "the only replacement for a DC-3 is another DC-3.” Meanwhile, the year 1942 arrived, and suddenly there was a critical need for airlift of supplies from India to China, across the deadly eastern Himalayan Range, leading to the so-called "Flying the Hump" operation. The "Hump", here, implies not the highest point of the passage, but actual…

I'm getting a bit more comfortable with the (stock) MSFS/Asobo DC-3, as for controlling its heading and altitude (Sperry Autopilot not fully functional for me yet...), and still, I've way to go in terms of executing a good landing by (manually) trying to follow the needles of its Glideslope/Localizer Indicator Gauge....will have to see about that... Anyway, I took this DC-3, out today, in the Hawaiian colors, for an aerial tour around the Hawaii group of islands, and flew over/past all the 4 major islands of Hawaii, namely: Hawaii - “The Big Island” Maui - “The Valley Isle” Oahu - “The Gathering Place” Kauai - “The Garden Isle” The Hawaii …

Like many folks here, I have always liked (in the SIM) the metallic airliner liveries of the past. In modern times, the composite-material made fuselages of these airplanes...ruined it all for us in this respect...🙂...so, this is the price we pay for technological advancements that are sometimes contrary to the aesthetics... Anyway, please enjoy these images, below, of the Air France DC-3, in this attractive (metallic) livery, along with its prominent and famous Seahorse logo, that has stood as an iconic symbol of Air France since the earliest origin of the airline... For this post, in the dawn light, I've lifted off (LFPG) Rwy 26L (westward)...please notice the…
