The AVSIM Screen Shots Forum
Have a favorite screen shot of your simulator that you would like to share? You can by posting it here. Please follow image posting rules (below). Images must be hosted on an image hosting website. Please use prefixes to identify the simulator you are using (see pinned topic for guidance). Please include information about the screenshot(s) such as location (flight plan?), the aircraft, weather engine, scenery (i.e., Orbx/FTX, GEX, FSDT, FlightBeam, FlyTampa, etc.).
Screenshot Image Posting Rules
- Images must be hosted on your own image server site, such as Drop Box, Google Drive, Photobucket.com, OZx Image Hosting, or a website that you own. See guidance at following link - http://www.avsim.com/topic/479802-how-do-i-post-a-screenshot/
- Images can be of any size; however, be considerate of your fellow AVSIM members as large photos will take longer to load for some members who do not have fast Internet connections.
- Images will automatically be resized to fit the viewer's screen width. This process is done automatically by the AVSIM website program.
- No more than 20 images per thread (topic). Moderators will remove any image that exceed this requirement.
- AVSIM members are reminded of the AVSIM Terms of Service in respect to images, and copyrighted and intellectual property. Images that violate our policies regarding copyrights and family safe environment will be removed and, depending on the severity of violation, user suspended or banned from AVSIM.
- Images copyrighted on other websites such as Airliners.net are not allowed and will be removed immediately.

I found this cool little Spacecraft that can take off from a runway and soar into orbit at hypersonic speeds... My flight this afternoon was beautiful, taking off from the Shuttle runway at Cape Canaveral (needing almost all 15000 feet of it) then turning to the southeast, over the Bermuda Triangle and on towards the coast of Africa. I find Xplane11 models the atmosphere to orbital transition very well, hitting the threshold of space around 250,000 feet, as the wind and thrust noise reduces to zero. Once in orbit it is a slow ride over the globe, the goal is to reach about 17,500 mph, orbital speed. I was longing for something to fill the niche of a single stage to or…

Historically speaking, the (Consolidated) Catalina (airmen called them "Cat") has made glorious contributions to both military and civil aviation. With 1st flight in 1935 (ahead of the legendary Douglas DC-3's first flight also in 1935), the Catalinas were reliably completing non-stop long-range flights in excess of 3000 miles, setting unheard-of milestones for propliners of the era (for comparison, the DC-3 had a typical range of 1500 miles). The Catalinas were used during WWII on top secret "Double Sunrise" flights from Perth to Ceylon (now Sri Lanka). The Qantas pilots were flying them for something like 33 hours of continuous flight in extremely dangerous missions (ai…

So this will be a long series of posts and screenshots, now the title is self-explanatory. But to add, here are the rules for me and this journey(also please contribute if you would like to try this challenge). Goal:To Fly to every single Capital City in the world(or as many as possible within the prescribed ruleset) -All Flights must continue from the previous destination( ex, after YYZ-LHR, if I wish to go to Hong Kong, I must fly from LHR, and Cannot choose another departure point without flying there first), this extends to diversion airports, regardless of the reason. -All flights MUST be real-life scheduled flights from an airline(the aircraft should …

Over my homespun Ortho4XP AZ scenery, not far from the AZ/NM border out of El Paso, headed to Phoenix Sky Harbor. My last flight out of El Paso was in a CRJ 200, an aircraft I loved to hate because the windows were so low you had to crane your neck to see out. The CRJ 700/900 fixed the problem in spades, my two fav regional jets with their 2x2 seating. Last flight I took on a CRJ 700/900 was to Santa Ana with my lovely daughter on our way to Disneyland to celebrate one of her birthdays with my grammar school principal and 81 year old friend, Henry Aschbrenner and his wonderful wife Dixie, who came to Disneyland that year to surprise my daughter with a birthday dinner a…
