The AVSIM Screen Shots Forum

Have a favorite screen shot of your simulator that you would like to share? You can by posting it here.  Please follow image posting rules (below).  Images must be hosted on an image hosting website. Please use prefixes to identify the simulator you are using (see pinned topic for guidance). Please include information about the screenshot(s) such as location (flight plan?), the aircraft, weather engine, scenery (i.e., Orbx/FTX, GEX, FSDT, FlightBeam, FlyTampa, etc.).

Screenshot Image Posting Rules

  • Images must be hosted on your own image server site, such as Drop Box, Google Drive, Photobucket.com, OZx Image Hosting, or a website that you own.  See guidance at following link - http://www.avsim.com/topic/479802-how-do-i-post-a-screenshot/
  • Images can be of any size; however, be considerate of your fellow AVSIM members as large photos will take longer to load for some members who do not have fast Internet connections.
  • Images will automatically be resized to fit the viewer's screen width. This process is done automatically by the AVSIM website program.
  • No more than 20 images per thread (topic). Moderators will remove any image that exceed this requirement.
  • AVSIM members are reminded of the AVSIM Terms of Service in respect to images, and copyrighted and intellectual property. Images that violate our policies regarding copyrights and family safe environment will be removed and, depending on the severity of violation, user suspended or banned from AVSIM.
  • Images copyrighted on other websites such as Airliners.net are not allowed and will be removed immediately.

Enjoying my Phoenix Arizona Ortho scenery and the Mig 15, which I have seen in airshows here in the State (the Red Bull). Red Bull might have been the Mig 17, they look alike.... John

I knew the 1TB Flickr free offer was too good to be true, and, was apparently so (the new management has changed mind)...otherwise Flickr was quite a good service. Feb 5 is when they would start deleting images over 1000. So, I'm testing ImageShack for sharing this image. Thanks.

  6. Stewart is a picturesque coastal town in British Columbia located at the head of the Portland Canal. This Canal was first discovered by explorer George Vancouver, after whom the Vancouver Island and the city of Vancouver are named. The town itself was named after one of the Stewart Brothers, who were among the earliest settlers of the town. This flight tracks (roadway) BC-37A, the Glacier Hwy, (per Orbx's rendition and also visible in a few shots below) eastward along the narrow mountainous valley (if interested, please see BC Road Map or/and Orbx Map of PFJ coverage) from the Stewart SPB (CAC9) - past the picturesque Bear Glacier Provincial Park to the Meziadin Lake…

There are several ways to introduce Seasons in X-Plane, I found this one the easiest that can be found on the org: Seasons Winter, Fall and Autumn from madmaxland (there are 6 packages to be downloaded), it is just drag and drop as other scenery files: Annecy, French Alps: Washington State: Mister X Japan Pro in Winter: Merry Christmas! Today I wished to fly something a bit off-beat, and the Caravelle caught my attention. The Sud Aviation Caravelle was a French short/medium-range jet airliner that holds the distinction of being the world's first jet-powered airliner for this market (first flight 1955). It utilized newly developed jet-propulsion technology, and pioneered the standards for aft-mounted engines to reduce cabin noise and vibration. Caravelle was also a strikingly beautiful aircraft for its time (e.g. see the landmark teardrop windows). For several years following its introduction, it had effectively no jet-powered rivals, and was extremely successful as the only jetliner in this niche (lucrat…

I have been gradually extracting my Captain Sim aircraft into FSX-SE (737/721 being my favorites so far). This re-installation (for B-52 Stratofortress) completes the last aircraft from my CS Archive, one that I do not recall flying much at all, probably because it was military... The legendary B-52 was an eight-engine long-range strategic bomber expected to complete full 100-years of service (first introduced in 1952, and with continuous upgrades (it has variants: A,B,C,D,E,F,G,H), is likely to remain in service till 2050!). It was created by Boeing to replace Convair's best-known B-36 Peacemaker. Among its many firsts, back in January 1957, three B-52s made a non-s…

Giving homage to my hometown Phoenix football team by flying over where I used to live. I edited the .cfg file to double the scenery draw distance so the Bay Area buildings would be in view during the entire flight from Napa to San Jose, as in real life, with no real penalty in performance. I changed the distance default of 64000 to 128000 as suggested by another member after the latest P3d 4.4 update. I like it, it makes flying much more realistic in terms of VFR landmarks to help locate airports when flying by dead reckoning, which is how Light Sport students like myself and ultralight pilots have to fly, John

  23. While myself being still in the process of an inter-city relocation, I chose to get back to a bit of sim today. I picked up a couple of Carenado aircraft, and the Orbx Valdez (PAVD) scenery from their SALE. Valdez (Alaska) is a former Gold-Rush town located in the "Last Frontier". It was (inaccurately) promoted to be a quicker route to the famous Klondike Gold fields, while actually, its Glacier-filled track (you can locate a few of these glaciers in the posts below) was twice as long, steep, and perilous. Many prospectors died while attempting this route. It's the southernmost point of the Trans-Alaska pipeline. Valdez, as you may recall, back in 1989, was the infam…

I enjoy flying over my Ortho Photoreal scenery, which extends from Vegas and covers all of Arizona. I also have the entire SF Bay Area which incorporates the freeware SFO airport and city scenery I have. The screenshots here were taken from a recorded two hour flight from Vegas to Glendale AZ.
