The AVSIM Screen Shots Forum

Have a favorite screen shot of your simulator that you would like to share? You can by posting it here.  Please follow image posting rules (below).  Images must be hosted on an image hosting website. Please use prefixes to identify the simulator you are using (see pinned topic for guidance). Please include information about the screenshot(s) such as location (flight plan?), the aircraft, weather engine, scenery (i.e., Orbx/FTX, GEX, FSDT, FlightBeam, FlyTampa, etc.).

Screenshot Image Posting Rules

  • Images must be hosted on your own image server site, such as Drop Box, Google Drive, Photobucket.com, OZx Image Hosting, or a website that you own.  See guidance at following link - http://www.avsim.com/topic/479802-how-do-i-post-a-screenshot/
  • Images can be of any size; however, be considerate of your fellow AVSIM members as large photos will take longer to load for some members who do not have fast Internet connections.
  • Images will automatically be resized to fit the viewer's screen width. This process is done automatically by the AVSIM website program.
  • No more than 20 images per thread (topic). Moderators will remove any image that exceed this requirement.
  • AVSIM members are reminded of the AVSIM Terms of Service in respect to images, and copyrighted and intellectual property. Images that violate our policies regarding copyrights and family safe environment will be removed and, depending on the severity of violation, user suspended or banned from AVSIM.
  • Images copyrighted on other websites such as Airliners.net are not allowed and will be removed immediately.
  1. [Note: So, as we now patiently wait in anticipation of the unknown(?)....I think I need to go over to those MSFS2020 Forums to see what's the latest news over there...!] Anyway back to this post: Long before there was any Payware, the continuous flow of (new) Freeware (be it aircraft, scenery, or misc.), had nurtured and sustained our interest in FS9/FSX, and helped build our community. To this day, I sometimes wonder, why someone would spend hours and hours of personal time, and offer something to us (say an aircraft) to fly, enjoy, and, to enrich the experience & broaden the knowledge derived from our hobby...for free...when I, myself, cannot find a few hours a…

[Note: Here is a nice plane that, last time I recall flying it, was before my years of break from SIM. Anyway, I hope you enjoy these images below as much as I enjoyed flying this SIM...] Those were the days, when people would dress in their very best to fly (suits for men was customary)...! And, the B377 was a luxurious double-decker (long before we got to see double-decks in B747 and A380)....Real food on real plates, cloth curtains on the windows to pull-close, potted plants in the lounge area while you chit-chat with drinks being served by uniformed stewardesses...etc....BTW, those were also the (final) glory days of humongous radial pistons (and cowl flaps on th…

In between usual spring stuff, like house cleaning, working and planting strawberries; I found time for a quick commute. I have flown this route IRL several times, however in a 737. I have P3D in a configuration software/setting wise that I am happy with. ActiveSky really helping with the immersion factor here.

Hello everyone! Yesterday I took advantage of the great weather, and after a long time I sat in the cockpit of a propeller plane again... I don't want to withhold the pictures from a sightseeing flight over Upper and Lower Bavaria from you: I hope you like them!

A couple of shots showing airport clash and the effects of, plus one of my fave Biplanes the Boeing Stearman flying in NewZealand with some careful tuning of P3D to maximise performance and keep a stable 30 fps vsync. For clashing airports I find Little Nav Map to be very useful in the resolution process as it is able to display the airport BGLs in use for a particular airport code. Cheers This one was difficult to resolve as it is actually three airports combined, one of which used a completly different code. How it looked after resolution. Boeing Stearman flying in New Zealand. I have a "Testing Settings" pro…

  16. [Note: If you are not into history...(I know, at least, a few, here, are into it...), you may directly skip over to the screenshots! I've been collecting bits and pieces for this since some time, so, here, we go...hope you enjoy this account, or/and the SIM images...] I've flown the Captain Sim B757 several times, including for a couple of posts here, but, I don't recall (in recent times) flying much the QW's offering, their first (worthy) foray into the PW market. The B757 is an interesting plane (unmistakably thin and long fuselage with two (rather large and powerful) engines)). I've travelled in Delta's 757s many times. A long while ago, when I could not tell apar…

Hehe....intriguing topic title...but like the title implies, here is the Queen in her birthday suit with nary any clothes on at all. 🙂 This is full PBR naturally, the reflections have to be seen in the sim to appreciate how awesome it looks. Seeing the terrain, clouds, etc dancing off the metal...totally game-changing in the world of exterior screenshot artists. 🙂 Enjoy the pics. All is still WIP....no timeline on a release date....metal takes time. Sunglasses highly recommended for viewing. 😎 Yep, with PBR...the lights reflect off the fuse...dynamically and in r…

Lift-off at sunrise. SRB separation. Fuel tank separation. Many orbits are needed to intercept the ISS. Here is a familiar object: Hubble telescope. Another object is enroute to the ISS: the Soyuz. Finally... the "humanity home" in the space. This is also flying!

  22. I've known the AN-2 aircraft since my early days FS9 SIM (I recall, there were some excellent FW offerings for it). Then, for several years, I owned, and regularly flew SibWings's (marvelous) AN-2, but, lost use of it during my transition to FSX-SE and my years of break from SIM. More recently, I've acquired Aerosoft/OctopusG's AN2, and have been flying it around a bit (I'd posted my first account of it). I note that, back in 1947, this small single-engine (12 pax) biplane (named: Russian "Annushka" and NATO "Colt") was a significant achievement of the period, ahead of its time. It was also the one that had started it all for Antonov's illustrious and long-standing (and s…
