The AVSIM Screen Shots Forum

Have a favorite screen shot of your simulator that you would like to share? You can by posting it here.  Please follow image posting rules (below).  Images must be hosted on an image hosting website. Please use prefixes to identify the simulator you are using (see pinned topic for guidance). Please include information about the screenshot(s) such as location (flight plan?), the aircraft, weather engine, scenery (i.e., Orbx/FTX, GEX, FSDT, FlightBeam, FlyTampa, etc.).

Screenshot Image Posting Rules

  • Images must be hosted on your own image server site, such as Drop Box, Google Drive, Photobucket.com, OZx Image Hosting, or a website that you own.  See guidance at following link - http://www.avsim.com/topic/479802-how-do-i-post-a-screenshot/
  • Images can be of any size; however, be considerate of your fellow AVSIM members as large photos will take longer to load for some members who do not have fast Internet connections.
  • Images will automatically be resized to fit the viewer's screen width. This process is done automatically by the AVSIM website program.
  • No more than 20 images per thread (topic). Moderators will remove any image that exceed this requirement.
  • AVSIM members are reminded of the AVSIM Terms of Service in respect to images, and copyrighted and intellectual property. Images that violate our policies regarding copyrights and family safe environment will be removed and, depending on the severity of violation, user suspended or banned from AVSIM.
  • Images copyrighted on other websites such as Airliners.net are not allowed and will be removed immediately.
  1. Toronto to Chicago...today a A320, normally a CRJ-900 since the flight is only around 357 miles or 50 minutes. Thanks for viewing & commenting, Darryl

  2. Picked up the FSimStudios Billy Bishop Toronto City airport yesterday, along with a few other small airports near Toronto (REGdesigns' CNC4 and CZBA). I'm flying from Burlington Executive to Toronto City in the Cirrus, with G1000 NXi. It's a pretty short flight and I stay low avoiding the busy Toronto airspace most of the way. CYTZ has two runways 4000 and about 2500 ft in length - both ILS and RNAV(GPS) approaches exist to the field. I'm unsure if there is an official water runway but there are docks with a few floatplanes. The airport feels like the old Meigs in Chicago. The sim scenery itself is very very nice. Textures are superb especially up close. I…

Last week, Westjet took delivery of their first of four 737-800 BCF conversions. The aircraft arrived in Calgary with a temporary registration. Has not flown again since arrival and no info yet on the new Canadian registration. So far, there are only 4 photos online to work from...and none depicting the inside of the winglets. This one is still very much a "work in progress"....cool livery though!

In anticipation of the forthcoming JF release of the 146 series for MSFS. I dug out my QW BAE 146-300 for a quick flight from Edinburgh to Glasgow. Some of the gauges did not show properly, perhaps because it is rated for V4.3 plus, however, overall, it flew nicely. T45 (P3D v5.3 HF2)

  11. [This is follow-up to my earlier post on Homer (PAHO) airport of Alaska.....Orbx says on their website for this add-on scenery "Onsite photos taken by Orbx staff"...this is not uncommon, but I'm always impressed when the developer is willing to travel far from their home country, making this little (hidden) town of Homer in far-off and distant Alaska...one of their destinations for (on-site) photography...And, just for a bit of curiosity...I've shown a MAP shot, below, (4th from last), to get a feel for the distance the trip must have involved...across from the Southern to the Northern Hemispheres...(this MAP also shows the vast expanse of intervening Pacific Ocean south …

  12. [I find small town airport sceneries fascinating...so, I picked up a couple of airport add-ons from the Orbx's ongoing SALE...here is my account from a (virtual) visit to the small-town airport (PAHO) of Homer, at the tip of Kenai Peninsula, in Southern Alaska...This is Part I...in Part II, I'll show a few scenes from within and around the airport itself...] Homer is a small city on Kachemak Bay, on Alaska’s Kenai Peninsula, named after Homer Pennock, a gold miner who established the first development on the Homer Spit (see next). A focal point and famous geographical landmark of the town is the Homer Spit, a long strip of continuous (and naturally formed) land, jutt…

That could my new mini review thing... lol Anyway, like most everyone into GA aircraft - I purchased the SWS RV14 today. Overall - yes I like it. I like the sounds, the agile control feel. I'm using TDS GTNxi in my version - everything seems to work except the LPV glide path - but it will likely work come SU9 - which brings some much needed Lvars. Does the rnav glide path work for PMS users? I mean the right way (not the default wrong way where it comes up from the bottom of the gauge)... Anyway there are only about 5-6 paint schemes so I've already started on a somewhat simple one (yeah I've said this before lol) - no clue when it'll be finished. I'd …

  19. Started by Rogen,

The A2A Piper PA28 180 Cherokee is fun little plane I've not taken up for while. And being A2A the start point should always be the maintenance hanger, in this instance the machine was running so rough I had to change the plugs due to being fouled. I've also experimented by purposly neglecting maintenace just to see how far an A2A plane will last, and while they do last for quite some time, the chance of a random fail is more likely to occur, with the worst I've experienced being a flap fail on one side that sent me in a spin into the ground. Cheers

  22. As part of my previous post, I'd wished to complete my ~400nm (test flight) with the BAe 146-300QT, but certain other tasks took precedence over "virtual" aviation...So, in this follow-up post, I conclude my 300QT account, by showing, here, a set of (Cobham) pictures from the rest of the flight, after, earlier, having lifted off NZAA/Auckland, just getting my feet wet over the Tasman Sea here (first shot below), then banking southward (from the westerly takeoff), all the way till arrival in NZCH/Christchurch. My route tracks almost directly south overflying the (intervening) Tasman Sea from NZ North Island to NZ South Island. The "QT" (Quiet Trader) freighter version…

  23. As they say “what goes up must come down”...even in our virtual world...I'd shown earlier, in the previous post, my AeroLogic B777F lifting-off into the skies above Leipzig/Halle Airport (EDDP), to the point I'd pressed the LNAV/VNAV buttons, thereby enabling the flightplan (that mimicked the RW AeroLogic FPLN, for the same day, from FlightAware data, between EDDP and EDDF)....and then I'd proceeded to enjoy a cup of (black coffee)...🙂... (please look for the cup of foaming Java in the 3rd from last screenshot in my previous post or the 2nd screenshot, here, below...just to the right of the Electronic Flight Bag...) ... However, the 777F, at that point, had to remain…

  24. Hope you enjoy these few images of a few rarely seen airline colors, shown below...thought out, dug up, and recreated by the repainters, for us...!! The images shown are in the order of the Notes, which are, of course, optional reading...🙂...! TAROM (the flag carrier of Romania) indeed has its origin as one of the oldest European airlines. Its roots can be traced back to 1920 when the French-Romanian Company for Air Navigation was launched (e.g., KLM, recognized as the world's oldest surviving airline was founded in 1919 and had started operations in 1920). TAROM was officially established, in 1954, when it acquired a fleet of Soviet a/c, so, its historical fle…
