The AVSIM Screen Shots Forum

Have a favorite screen shot of your simulator that you would like to share? You can by posting it here.  Please follow image posting rules (below).  Images must be hosted on an image hosting website. Please use prefixes to identify the simulator you are using (see pinned topic for guidance). Please include information about the screenshot(s) such as location (flight plan?), the aircraft, weather engine, scenery (i.e., Orbx/FTX, GEX, FSDT, FlightBeam, FlyTampa, etc.).

Screenshot Image Posting Rules

  • Images must be hosted on your own image server site, such as Drop Box, Google Drive, Photobucket.com, OZx Image Hosting, or a website that you own.  See guidance at following link - http://www.avsim.com/topic/479802-how-do-i-post-a-screenshot/
  • Images can be of any size; however, be considerate of your fellow AVSIM members as large photos will take longer to load for some members who do not have fast Internet connections.
  • Images will automatically be resized to fit the viewer's screen width. This process is done automatically by the AVSIM website program.
  • No more than 20 images per thread (topic). Moderators will remove any image that exceed this requirement.
  • AVSIM members are reminded of the AVSIM Terms of Service in respect to images, and copyrighted and intellectual property. Images that violate our policies regarding copyrights and family safe environment will be removed and, depending on the severity of violation, user suspended or banned from AVSIM.
  • Images copyrighted on other websites such as Airliners.net are not allowed and will be removed immediately.
  1. Just taken the latest version, (1.8), of the RedWing L-1049 from LFRB to EBBR. Unaware that v1.8 added 'disasters' to the aircraft performance. I was vaguely aware , but thought they could be switched on or off. However, I found when red lining the speedo while fiddling with the AP, that they appear to be built in. Hence the missing rudders & damaged ailerons & elevator. I'll be more careful next time.😃 T45

Another in the autoland testing series. This time, the RedWing L-1049 flew from KPSM down to FlyTampa KBOS with an autoland on Rwy 15R, (110.70). Set at dusk with light mist. Interestingly, it wanted to land just to the left of the runway. I am not sure if that has to do with KBOS ground avionics positioning. At KPHL it came straight on to the center line, crabbing in against a cross wind. T45

Redwing L-1049, reg. N7777C, out of Valdez again. I think this airframe may have been owned by Qantas at some stage. The extent of the exhaust flames in shot 1 suggests I may be running the engines a bit rich. T45

  14. Here, in this post, I wish to illustrate three items that have been always of interest to me, which I've been meaning to explore a bit via our virtual world... Western Airlines Mountains of UTAH DC-10-10 (the very first output after Douglas-McDonnell merger; DC-10-30 was more common, though size and capacity wise -10/-30/-40 variants were all almost identical) First of all, the unique distinction of being "the oldest continuously operating airline" is a prestigious honor for an Airline e.g., it's said that the KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, founded on October 7, 1919, makes it the oldest airline in continuous operation in the world. Of course, nearly 18…

While viewing various YouTube videos on how to fly the RedWing L-1049, I came across one of theirs on Autolanding the L-1049. Using a short run from KTTW to KPHL, I was able to successfully autoland at KPHL RW 27L on the 2nd attempt. The first was where I learned I still need to work the flaps, and to not instruct the Pilot & Co-Pilot to start the descent too soon. The successful attempt was undertaken in an 18 kt crosswind, but the AI crew handled it ok If you follow the video instructions, it should work. T45

  23. Hey Guys, It's been a long, hard, enjoyable, frustrating (for everyone...Devs, testers, patiently waiting simmers, hehe), rewarding, and incredible experience beta testing this phenominal aircraft! I have bitten a hole clean thru my bottom lip watching all the speculative posts in many forums, knowing answers to questions you guys had but had to remain in the cone of silence.....until toady! You guys know me as a long-time contributor of freeware paints, and I'm pleased to announce that I will continue that tradition with the release of this epic aircraft. I plan to bring over all my previous paints for the 737-700, in addition to a few that I've created …
