The AVSIM Screen Shots Forum

Have a favorite screen shot of your simulator that you would like to share? You can by posting it here.  Please follow image posting rules (below).  Images must be hosted on an image hosting website. Please use prefixes to identify the simulator you are using (see pinned topic for guidance). Please include information about the screenshot(s) such as location (flight plan?), the aircraft, weather engine, scenery (i.e., Orbx/FTX, GEX, FSDT, FlightBeam, FlyTampa, etc.).

Screenshot Image Posting Rules

  • Images must be hosted on your own image server site, such as Drop Box, Google Drive, Photobucket.com, OZx Image Hosting, or a website that you own.  See guidance at following link - http://www.avsim.com/topic/479802-how-do-i-post-a-screenshot/
  • Images can be of any size; however, be considerate of your fellow AVSIM members as large photos will take longer to load for some members who do not have fast Internet connections.
  • Images will automatically be resized to fit the viewer's screen width. This process is done automatically by the AVSIM website program.
  • No more than 20 images per thread (topic). Moderators will remove any image that exceed this requirement.
  • AVSIM members are reminded of the AVSIM Terms of Service in respect to images, and copyrighted and intellectual property. Images that violate our policies regarding copyrights and family safe environment will be removed and, depending on the severity of violation, user suspended or banned from AVSIM.
  • Images copyrighted on other websites such as Airliners.net are not allowed and will be removed immediately.

I did this flight a week or two ago and forgot to share it. Using the amazing freeware of KEDC from Windhover at flightsim.to https://flightsim.to/file/28465/kedc-austin-executive-airport-austin-texas Also of note there is a new Baron flight model modification by a well known x plane guy. (I haven't tried the new Baron mod as I was using a turbocharged mod). He's done a splendid job on the Icon A5 and a few other planes here in MSFS: https://flightsim.to/file/41019/asobo-baron-g58-realism-mod Please enjoy. 10. First of all, to us (jetliner) aviation enthusiasts, the 737 is a perpetual attraction..., partly because most of us flew on it, in the earliest years of our exposure to (domestic) jet travel, IRL (either as pax or pilot). We remind ourselves that the first B737 flew in 1967, 55 years ago from today, while the first Airbus (A300) flew in 1972, 5 years later than the 737, but significantly, that Airbus entry was not aimed at the B737. Though the A300 was indeed a twin-engined a/c, it being a larger plane, was targeted towards the McDonnell Douglas DC-10 and the Lockheed L-1011 TriStar...In fact, the (B737's primary competitor and now ubiquitous) A320 would take first fligh…

Recently I've finally got a new GPU, so I had the chance to try the latest MSFS SU10 in all its glory. I have to say the scenery is incredible! Here's a real life pic vs MSFS at high settings:

Climbing to cruise through FL200 over Washington, DC, off of KESN at Easton, Maryland. Washington and KDCA are just off the tail as the Potomac River winds its way along the Virginia-Maryland border back to the Chesapeake Bay in the distance. Also visible at 12 O'clock to the left of the Potomac is the smaller Patuxent River. And in the distance to the right of the Potomac is the Rappenahannock River. The Hjet flight to Indiana today encountered 90 to 110 knot headwinds, and even 70 to 80 knot headwinds at lower altitudes. My flight planning advised the most economic cruise was at FL400. Jet at Easton this morning was $5.12/Gal so my 1,280 lb burn cost me $1,000. I to…

The thing I like best about MSFS is exploring different parts of the world in different aircraft. For the last couple of weeks I've been flying in New Zealand. The country is absolutely perfect for GA flying, with its varied landscapes and challenging airfields. I was lucky to have fair weather for the whole trip except the final descent into Christchurch with a cloud base of 400ft and reduced visibility. I started at Kaitaia, the northernmost airport on the North Island. After a sightseeing trip around Auckland and a very hazardous landing at NZKE Waiheke (610m strip surrounded by thick forest), I followed the Eastern coastline for a while before stopping at Rotoru…

On the way to KGSO for some maintenance and an update. In the pattern for 23R at Greensboro, looking down at Belews Lake and Duke Power Co.'s Belews Creek Station, one of the most efficient coal powered plants in the world. The power plant has long been a key visual cue for pilots. (thanks to the MSFS addon "we love VFR 2" for the power plant and plume!)
