For those who enjoy primers and rustic things... walking around and checking this bird and soon start thos engines and fly away taking advantage of the sun rising after taking off. This is my 3rd attempt with the PMDGs 737 in factory colors, now for the 800 version. Hope you like it!

(Larger image if clicked) Cruising at FL310 and 390 knots near Toledo, Ohio, on the way from Chicago to Baltimore, the sun reflecting off of Lake Erie and the Maumee River below through the morning haze. Well ahead beyond the tip of the left wing you can see the arm of land at Port Clinton, OH, separating Lake Erie and Sandusky Bay. Port Clinton's KPCW is home to the Liberty Aviation Museum and the adjacent Goose Tin diner, making it a great destination for a $100 hamburger or pancake meal. The popular tourist trap of "Put in Bay" is the middle of the islands you see out in the lake off Port Clinton.

Prompted and inspired by a FSX/SE post by <fppilot>, I thought to myself, it is (has been) surely educative e.g. to learn, virtually, in the SIM, about (and navigate with) (advanced) Airliner FMSs/CDUs, and also about creating INS Flightplans by typing in (manually and tediously...) LAT/LONG co-ordinates into the CDU, but, how about learning a bit about the latest GTN Flight Navigators...🙂...? So, last week, I got for myself, a RXP GTN 750 unit. For those un-initiated (of which I'm a very good example) into such systems, these GTNs are indeed powerful avionics solutions, but, most, pleasingly and conveniently, for me, for their novel "touchscreen" interface (the "T"…

Seemed like a reasonable thing for the price, so a first flight. Out of SEQM This was third attempt to do this flight. CTDs every time. I'll try rebooting and clearing everything down but this V35 was the only change from my last time in the sim.

This is continuation (from the previous post) of my short ~120 nms adventure trip in the Pacific Fjords. In this part, I approach and land on Rwy 36 of Stewart (CZST), the endpoint of my adventure. The last ~10 nms (or so) into CZST, is, almost, a straight-in (northward) approach to Rwy 36, tracking the centerline of the Portland Canal, which is actually a deglaciated fjord that extends south-southwest from the township of Stewart, and forms part of the borderline between U.S. (Alaska) and Canada (B.C). BTW, I am rather familiar with CZST (Stewart)...I mean virtually, of course...🙂...thanks to Orbx. From my (virtual) experience; though one has to be indeed careful in…

The Pacific Fjords in western North America is a beautiful and fascinating region. It's abundantly filled with unique geographical features, such as high coastal mountains, picturesque inland passages, hidden lakes, dense pine forests, and, of course, the desolate (and cold) icefields and glaciers...etc. Here, below, is a collection of pictures I snapped from a short (virtual) trip I took today, of just about ~120 nms, staring from CYXT (Northwest Regional Airport Terrace-Kitimat, located 3 nms south of Terrace, British Columbia, Canada) to CZST (Stewart Aerodrome adjacent to Stewart, also located in British Columbia, Canada). I tracked the inland passageways over la…

The great Mamudesign has released a new mod which brings marina, piers etc. to life. It's a available on .to: Mamudesign - Marinas » Microsoft Flight Simulator I wanted to test it and took the Arrow for a flight from EKGH to EKLI following the northern coastline of Zealand in Denmark. You kinda know this bit is missing in MSFS but it's difficult to describe just how much it adds once it's there... Denmark is small but we have 8500+ km of coastline. This really brings all the small coastal towns and communities alive. Grazie mille @mamu82.

As part of my world tour I arrived today in PAYA Yakutat in my trusted N5AM. I was greeted by a lovely little airfield, designed with passion by Northern Lights. A bit weary from a 2 hr IFR flight with not much to see above the thick cloud layer, I was a bit amused by the "food shelter booze" sign at "The Yakutat Lodge". A highly recommended scenery! Tomorrow I'll check out Mt St Elias, the second-highest mountain in both Canada and the US. With it's altitude of 18,008 ft, it was hovering above the cloud layer as I came in for the approach. But now it's time for some food 'n booze!

This is the concluding part of my previous post on Amazon Air 767-300F. Please find, here, the rest of the images, representing the segment of my flight from the T/D point (at 35,000 ft), ~142 nms away from KBWI, with [VNAV] descent just about begin (see the 2nd [VC] shot below of the pop-up HSI, shown in the MAP Mode), all the way to the touchdown at KBWI (Baltimore/Washington Intl. Airport) ...ILS Rwy 10... Thanks for viewing...!! Good flying...!

[Today, as I carried, indoors, a couple of "Amazon Prime" packages, shipped (and delivered) to the doorstep, I recalled one of my recent posts here, where I'd alluded to the (converted) 767 (Amazon Air / Prime Air) freighters, using the freeware model of a BDSF (Bedek Special Freighter) conversion of a 767-300ER. And, today, I'd another (home) errand due, later in the evening, that I better not forget, while enthralled in my imaginary flight here...🙂...to pick-up an "Amazon Fresh" (on-line) Grocery order, at the local store. Anyway, all these coincidences made me think, again, of the (amazing) Amazon Air (Prime Air) 767s. I also recalled that, a short while ago, I'd acqui…

Near the culmination of a great flight from Nashville (KBNA) to Baltimore. Overlooking the Chesapeake Bay turning to final, KBWI, R32R approach. Finally out of the teeth of a challenging RAVNN6.BKW arrival. RAVNN6.BKW Many waypoints with multiple step downs. Hjet developer Marwan has done a fantastic job tweaking the Hjets now exclusive G3000 version to allow it to handle this complex VNAV. And he is not done! My workload/effort was then limited to speed control: descent then level, descent then level, that for each step down. It continued on page 2 of this arrival with two more step downs to DUDDS, the IAF for RNAV (GPS) 33R Nearing final…

Recently I saw a documentary on TV, where some creative businessmen with a pilot license and an aircraft at their disposal help some African nations to get badly needed nourishment. Of course, all of what the small TV team was seeing/filming was highly illegal, the pilots (of Rus, oh sorry, of unknown nationality) didn’t want to be filmed or interviewed. I must admit, most interesting! It was for me a small wonder that the pilots allowed the TV team to come along for such a trip at all. They claimed to do two such trips per day. At least as long as their slightly dilapidated looking An-24 was air worthy (according to the pilots’ standards, most probably not ours). So, hop…

I have spent a couple of days trying many different filters. My aim was to get the light as natural as possible. I used FinalLight 1.3 to get rid of the yellow/lime green tints. I used qINT.Regrade.fx to adjust gamma/shadows/colours. Results are pretty good.

First of all, myself, bit of a Bond fan....🙂...the DHL (AeroLogic) 777F livery shown, below, that, I caught, in this week's (popular) library uploads, especially drew my attention (I'd earlier shown a DHL (Douglas) DC-8-73(F) in one of my previous posts). Notice, here, the prominent "007" marking and logo, on the 777F fuselage (the actual a/c variant is a 777-200LRF equipped w/ those (massive) GE 90-110B engines, as seen in the pictures, below). Now, the Bond character may be "fictional", but I assure you that this 007 (DHL) 777F livery (see RW video clip suggestion, below) is not just a fictional imagination of one of our (esteemed and ever productive....🙂...) repainters…

Pax-to-Freighter conversions (either by Boeing itself or by a 3rd Party) has turned out to be a cost-effective operation of aging (Boeing) aircraft, for many operators. For example, the 767-300F is a (production) freighter version of the 767-300ER, built in factory. The 767-300BCF (Boeing Converted Freighter) is another modified passenger-to-freighter model of the 767, with the conversion work performed by a (Boeing approved) 3rd party, here, Singapore by ST Aerospace Services. Then, today, I came across this curious (BDSF) conversion of a 767-300ER. (BDSF) stands for "Bedek Special Freighter". This specific (customized) freighter conversion is performed by the reput…
