The AVSIM Screen Shots Forum

Have a favorite screen shot of your simulator that you would like to share? You can by posting it here.  Please follow image posting rules (below).  Images must be hosted on an image hosting website. Please use prefixes to identify the simulator you are using (see pinned topic for guidance). Please include information about the screenshot(s) such as location (flight plan?), the aircraft, weather engine, scenery (i.e., Orbx/FTX, GEX, FSDT, FlightBeam, FlyTampa, etc.).

Screenshot Image Posting Rules

  • Images must be hosted on your own image server site, such as Drop Box, Google Drive, Photobucket.com, OZx Image Hosting, or a website that you own.  See guidance at following link - http://www.avsim.com/topic/479802-how-do-i-post-a-screenshot/
  • Images can be of any size; however, be considerate of your fellow AVSIM members as large photos will take longer to load for some members who do not have fast Internet connections.
  • Images will automatically be resized to fit the viewer's screen width. This process is done automatically by the AVSIM website program.
  • No more than 20 images per thread (topic). Moderators will remove any image that exceed this requirement.
  • AVSIM members are reminded of the AVSIM Terms of Service in respect to images, and copyrighted and intellectual property. Images that violate our policies regarding copyrights and family safe environment will be removed and, depending on the severity of violation, user suspended or banned from AVSIM.
  • Images copyrighted on other websites such as Airliners.net are not allowed and will be removed immediately.

New York Times: "Finland is called ''the land of a thousand lakes,'' but at last count there were 187,888 of them - more lakes in relation to a country's size than any other. Indeed, with a population of about five million, Finland has one lake for every 26 people." Took the JPL C152 for a flight and can confirm that there are indeed a lot of lakes 😉

Sorry I couldn't find the Forbidden City I'll have to check a map later. My newly modded interior view for the Carenado Arrow 3. Haha found it! Great scenery by Samscene that I just purchased. Cool tower just down from the forbidden city.

  7. Title says it all- I´ve finally left FSX (for good) and XP 11 (at least for a while) behind and built me a better computer and got MSFS Standard Edition from Microsoft store. What shall I say? I´m impressed. My i5-9600KF and mediocre Radeon RX 550 4gb handles the new sim quite well. So here´s my first MSFS screenshot (in 1440p resolution, medium to high settings):

Didn't like it at first because I thought the cockpit was boring but it's growing on me. First shot over PA, the rest Southern Cali by the old El Toro MCAS where I lived as a child. Used to live in those military houses down there I think they are building expensive houses there now.

The Cri Cri. I love it. I climbed Mt. Fuji in 1992 when I was in the Marines every time I see a picture of it or in the sim I say "I've been on top of that." Went through downtown Tokyo also. Mt. Fuji. Good thing I have the sim on unlimited fuel don't think 2 lawn mower engines would get me that far. Thanks for viewing.

  12. So, on my original flight around KSAT I'd spotted a strip called "Bat Cave Field", and @enright posted an explanation and a link for me, about what is meant to be the world's biggest bat colony. So with the help of Google Earth and the site link provided, I not only went back to visit Bat Cave Field, but found what I think is the actual cave in MSFS. Not modled, but still fascinating to see it there. So I've done this as two posts - this one is a more or less standard flight in the H135 from the very fine KSAT out over Randolph AFB (which also looks pretty good) and on to put down at TX55. Second post is to the cave itself, via Paramotor. But first . . . …

  13. In my previous post, I'd made a reference to Anthony Fokker, the Flying Dutchman, a most enigmatic and eccentric character in aviation history...Holder of 3 nationalities (Dutch, German, US), his brilliant contributions to the shaping of early aviation in all these countries is remarkable. In fact, it was a Fokker T-2 Transport (a Fokker F-IV) designed by Fokker, that made the first nonstop (transcontinental) flight, across the U.S., on May 2–3, 1923, from Long Island to San Diego, over 2,470 miles, in just under 27 hours. During the flight, the Pilots had to fly over unknown territory at night and through storms and rain for over half the flight. Fokker's T-2 stood up to…

One of the few things Bruce Springsteen did that I really liked was the Nebraska album, and "Atlantic City" was one of my faves. So here we go in my newly acquired Turbo Arrow. Got it in the JF promotion at the moment, and really like it. One of the rare aircraft (for me) that I actually want to fly at least vaguely properly. So a brief circuit out of KACY, taking in the somewhat grey and uninviting Atlantic City coastline. The scenery is actually pretty good, and is all default. Weather is Floyd's presets, all settings ultra or high and LOD 400, 4k HDR shots taken and converted automatically for SDR via XBox Game Bar. Not perfect but not too bad. …

Thought I'd actually try getting this off the ground by a bit of RTFMing. Tried a few times but nothing was working according to the instructions - starting the demo flight as per instrs but all the instruments turned off and the plane reversing slowly down the runway instead of sitting quiet with all the cockpit powered up. Nothing working on the FMC or anywhere else, click anywhere and nothing happening. Tried uninstall/modify but that wasn't working either. Something obviously borked on my system. So ended up just re-running the installer over the top of the existing setup, then updating via the PMDG center, and lo and behold - all working now. So as all the c…

Since Asobo was kind enough to include an Airbus 320 NEO with its Sim, I decided to take it for a short spin to see how it looks and feels. Avid enough I also got me the european and NA livery packs and also downloaded Aerosoft´s free EDLP Paderborn Lippstadt scenery from Simmarket. So here are a few far from perfect screenies from my (unfinished) flight to EDDK. Hope you enjoy. Here´s our plane as seen from the gate: Some other passengers of our flight: Our plane as seen from the tarmac, baggage loading under way: Finally, passengers boarded, gate retracted, ground power disconnected and ready to push: Pushing back for a RW 24…

  23. For my previous post, I'd come across and included a couple of pictures of an Aer Lingus Airbus A321neo livery, and also a picture of the Fokker F27-500. I like the Aer Lingus livery...especially the older and classic design of it, featuring the tricolor fuselage with a rich green roof and tail, dark green cheatline separated from the roof by a blue stripe and, of course, the iconic (large) stylized white shamrock on the fin... (see pictures, below) ... I recalled reading somewhere that that Aer Lingus currently has moved on to an exclusive all-jet and all Airbus fleet. Indeed, they now operate only the A320/A321/A330 series of aircraft. Today, while looking for anot…
