The AVSIM Screen Shots Forum

Have a favorite screen shot of your simulator that you would like to share? You can by posting it here.  Please follow image posting rules (below).  Images must be hosted on an image hosting website. Please use prefixes to identify the simulator you are using (see pinned topic for guidance). Please include information about the screenshot(s) such as location (flight plan?), the aircraft, weather engine, scenery (i.e., Orbx/FTX, GEX, FSDT, FlightBeam, FlyTampa, etc.).

Screenshot Image Posting Rules

  • Images must be hosted on your own image server site, such as Drop Box, Google Drive, Photobucket.com, OZx Image Hosting, or a website that you own.  See guidance at following link - http://www.avsim.com/topic/479802-how-do-i-post-a-screenshot/
  • Images can be of any size; however, be considerate of your fellow AVSIM members as large photos will take longer to load for some members who do not have fast Internet connections.
  • Images will automatically be resized to fit the viewer's screen width. This process is done automatically by the AVSIM website program.
  • No more than 20 images per thread (topic). Moderators will remove any image that exceed this requirement.
  • AVSIM members are reminded of the AVSIM Terms of Service in respect to images, and copyrighted and intellectual property. Images that violate our policies regarding copyrights and family safe environment will be removed and, depending on the severity of violation, user suspended or banned from AVSIM.
  • Images copyrighted on other websites such as Airliners.net are not allowed and will be removed immediately.

Got this EGAA as soon as I saw it was out. Probably one of the best airports I've ever seen. OK, I'm talking as a "likes to see the coffee cups" type of guy rather than a "those taxiway markings are not accurate" sort of guy, so I've no idea if all the stuff the serious pilots care about is any good or not. But for me, this is a truly amazing piece of work. Once upon a time Orbx ruled the world for scenery, but they've long since ceased to be credible in my eyes, the likes of Pyreegue and IniScene have picked up that baton and run way off into the distance with it. So, I tried a little circuit in the 737-600. Not hugely successfully I have to say, I'm still just happ…

  3. Yesterday, Aug 10, American Airlines took delivery of a brand-new 787 becoming the first airline, in 15 months, to get one of these aircraft from Boeing since the deliveries were halted last year because of production and manufacturing issues. “The aircraft, with U.S. Registration No. N880BJ, was delivered from Charleston, South Carolina, and is expected to enter commercial service in the coming weeks”. The aircraft, received by American Airlines, was a 787-8 Dreamliner (my namesake, hence of special interest to yours truly...here...🙂...). American Airlines currently (already) has 24 of the Boeing 787-8 type in service, excluding yesterday's delivery. It also has 22 …

Diego Aracena, Iquique’s intern. airport, lies well south of the city, so in order to have a look at Iquique I flew north first and then flew south again to reach my destination Calama Interesting terrain below the plane. I have never seen anything like it I also had no clue what this was to the plane’s left, until I googled it: it was one of three solar parks in the middle of nowhere Thanks for viewing

  8. I was reading about the 777s a bit....and in the recent past I've been steadily acquiring (variant) upgrade add-ons of several (payware) airliners...among which, today, I found the 777-300ER expansion for the CS 777, the base model of which I've owned for many years...but I do not recall testing/flying this specific (CS) 777-300ER variant. So, please find, below, 14 pictures of the 777-300ER for 3 different airlines... The -300ER, which combined the -300's added capacity with the -200ER's range, fast became the top-selling of the 777 variants (832 deliveries far ahead of the nearest other 777, the -200ER, with 422 deliveries). The 777-300ER was launched with an order…

I went to have a look round the default CYEG and the surrounding area to see how I felt about picking up the FsimStudios version of the airport (which I have since done), and ended up playing around with my settings again. I've been finding the sim pretty jerky and LOD-restricted lately. I used to run full ultra and LOD 400 but since SU9 that's been a no-no for me and I've been running TLOD at 300 and a lot of the scenery settings on high instead of ultra. But when I looked around over Edmonton, in what it's fair to say is pretty flat countryside with a good horizon, I was really disappointed to find that I only really have any detail out to about 6 miles (according to LN…

Following on from my last trip, where I spotted the Edmonton Mall, I discovered that the world's biggest shopping mall is currently in Tehran, the Iran Mall (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iran_Mall). So I thought I'd go see if it was in the sim. I'm using the Google Map enhancement thingy so I thought there might be a chance. Read on for confirmation/denial! Heading off from OIIE heading north towards the city This was actually one of the first places I came in the sim when it first came out. I was curious to see how all those places that had previously been ignored in sims everywhere looked. I was very impressed at the time. I've gotten a bit spoiled in th…

  13. I've always wanted to do this hehe. Went for a flight today and I just enjoyed the view from the passenger seat - took a bunch of photos from the Minneapolis / St Paul MN area. These aren't straight from the sim because I edited the colors to sort of match my real photos. Also my mobile phone's white balance was just doing auto mode so half the time the colors aren't correct - but I did set MSFS to match for the most part. The main takeaway is - yeah with photogrammetry it can be hard to tell which is real. However I wish they'd get rid of some of the trees. There's still far too many. Enjoy! We've just departed our home base, KSGS in St Paul MN and we've …

  22. Just wanted to see what this looked like. Very nice, I think. So just a quick hop out of Cottesmore (EGXJ) to Wittering (EGXT). Cloudy sky meant the take off shots were too dark to be worth showing, so already underway in first pic. Just passed over Oakham, and that's Rutland Water in the backgound (a nice place - visitied there a lot when my mother lived up that way) The two bases are only about ten minutes apart, so heading in now A smooth landing, but then my usual wobbling about all over the runway before coming to a stop. I think I need to re-calibrate my pedals

This is the second post in the set about my visit to the Bat Cave (no, not that one). This is where we are currently sitting in the H135 And here you can see where the cave itself is, relative to the landing field So, time to unpack the Paramotor and head off! And there it is below. It's not been actually modelled, so it just shows up as looking like a shadow or pool or similar, but I'm pretty certain that's it I tried setting the time to dusk but no bats emerged. Maybe some more skilled soul than me might take this place on as a project. Imagine 20,000,000 pixellated bats pouring out of there and heading north! I'll post …

  24. Started by P_7878,

Today, while looking back (again) a bit at the recent posts here, I came across the (excellent) repaint/picture (by Steve D) of the Boeing C-40 (which is a military version of the Boeing 737 NG, combining the fuselage of the 737-700 with the strengthened wings and landing gears of the larger and heavier 737-800). This reminded me of another "C-" designation (Boeing) plane, the C-32, which is also a military version, that of the Boeing 757-200. Two variants of C-32 (A/B) exist, filling different parts of the military and official transport roles. Specifically, the C-32A variant (subject a/c of this post) is the military designation for the Boeing 757-2G4 (with call sign "A…
