HiA while back I asked for measurements or drawings of a cessna c172.Well, I am now almost there: (more pictures soon, when I get more done)http://www.skottes.net/CessnaC172teaser.jpgPlease note that this is not intended to be an accurate representation of the cessna, more an experience for "ordinary" people. It has to be kept simple otherwise people get confused. Also it is "mobile" so it can be dissasembled to go through standard doors and so om.The project is part of a larger conference called Universitarium, and is held every summer in aalborg. Its held to inspire high school students to continue on to the university of aalborg.Enjoy and stay tuned for more pics of th…

Claudio~I tried replying to your email but it keeps getting bounced.Your Faceplate is on it's way. However today as I was driving home from work I noticed I forgot to include the Decoder chips from US Digital, so I'll be sending another smaller package this week with the chips, and a few more lamps for your Korry lights. My wife, Andrea and I are planning a trip to Italy in March of 2005, and Rome is on our list of places to visit. Do you live near Rome? Ray

I got here my Photon interface and Kingston LED displays. The idea is to save up as much space (led displays) on the output boards as possible so that I have aprox. 40 single leds available to control. This means I will have to wire up all the leading

Can you list the known sources that produce and sell fsbus boards?I can make mine myself, but am not as good as professionals, and they always need consistent adjustements and are just a decent hassle for me.So if i can just buy the boards i'd be very very happy :-hah

Guys, I have had in the back of my mind for a couple of yearsto build a networked group of PC's where I could have multiplemonitors to fly FS9 with. However, knowing "not much/very little"about how to do this, and expense of it, I hadnt done it. Nowthough, Im thinking much more seriously after my brother in lawcalled the other day and told me his firm was surplussing all their17 inch monitors for 20 bucks each and replacing with flat paneldisplays. Immediately I commited to two and probably shouldagotten more. (My wife figures Im a pack rat...she has no ideawhat Im thinking yet...I like to live dangerously.)In any case, So I have a 21 inch monitor and soon at least…

I was looking at the cockpit dimension web site and found numerous questions. http://users.skynet.be/porreke/CockpitDimensions/b777.htm1) The area just below the PFD and ND in front of your knees ("kneeboard panel"). How high is it?2) What is the measurement from the bottom of the panel (where the kneeboard panel stars) to the bottom of the PFD?3) I don't know the term for it, but it's the farthest left display, what is the measurement from the bottom of the panel to that instrument panel?4) What is the measurement from the bottom of the panel to the bottom of the clock?5) What is the measurement from the bottom of the panel to the bottom of the backup instruments? 6) …

I am thinking about diyaudio.com do it yourself projection screen. I was thinking of building one box, but with three projections, but the cost would be double. Instead, what if left, front and right views were put on one screen?I figure the image will be stretched anyway, so the left and right should be able to be squeezed on?

I watched a documentary on the making of the Airbus A380 last night. They showed a lot of pictures of computer screens showing the CAD drawings of it as it took shape. Wonder if they'd share general layout CADs with someone wanting to make a 380 pit?Richard

For those of you with at least a little soldering knowledge, here is the solutionLS (LSI) 7083/7183They do all the work, and provide direct up/down pulse from any dual output incremental encoders.Just hook the two enc output to them, and use their two outputs for your hardware (FSBUS, IO, EPIC, whatever).7083 has normal mode and 4x mode, while 7183 has also 2x mode (which is suitable for my encoders that have a detent in the middle of a phase).Actually i find only one reseller carring themwww.usdigital.comFarnell, rs, mouser, elfa, distrelec all do not have those ICs.If anyone knows any european reseller, i'm all ears!Shipping them all over the atlantic is costly :(

Quick question. In the AFDS and other parts of glare shield on real 747s and other jets, the altimeter etc. is displayed with rotary numbers as supposed to LED. I've figured out that I rather want to use the old rotary numbers. Is this possible? Has anyone else done it?Can parts from e.g tape machines be converted for this use? If so, how?Any feedback appreciated.Regards,Kevin

I ran across information about touch up colors for Boeing and Airbus style panels, knobs and buttons. I don't have first hand experience, so can't say how close the color match is, but since the information is from Gables Eng, a manufacturer of commercial gear sold to Boeing and Airbus, I would think it would be close. Except where noted otherwise, the paints are solvent based enamels.Boeing 705 light gray - Testors 1730 flat gull grayBoeing dark brown - Testors 4365 burnt brown (water-based acrylic)Boeing beige - Testors 4720 sand (flat) (water-based acrylic)Boeing brown - Testors 2008 raw sienna (flat)Airbus light blue gray - Testors 2109 french light blue gray (flat)Ai…

Hello Gents and Ladies (have to be careful :-) )I couldn't find a 5" VGA monitor for my CDU and I bought from ebay a 5" Blaupunkt composite monitor. It works fine with one big problem; on all 4 sides about 3-5 mm is not used and that gives me problems with my FDS CDU, picture is too small and buttons will not align. On a normal monitor with control buttons you can adjust both horizontal and vertical size but there are no buttons on this monitor...:-(I have also a 7" liluput TV which has the same problem..Is there a way to make the picture fill the screen? Or any software.I have a nvidia geforce mx4000 card (56.72 drivers)on that machine which runs windows XP pro and P4 1.…

I need about 7 pins to be connected to 5V and I need about 11 pins to be grounded. Is it OK if I take 1 red wire and make it go past all the V pins ?Then take 1 black wire and make it go past all the ground pins ?Or should I try to use as many different red&black wires from this PSUP ?

Hello all sim builders,Does anyone can suggest me 4" LCD monitor with very thin edge? I look up the market and found only those with very thick edges. Video input only is ok. Of course, VGA is prefered. I need two of them for my panel as EADI and EHSI I cannot use a bigger size monitor to cover tham all due to my panel's restriction.Best regards,Alkit

Hi,I'm installing the switches and levers on my Cessna panel. I saw on FS that when you use the flaps or the pitch, a small indicator beside the control is showing the position of the control. Is there someone who had reproduce this in a home cockpit, by using servo motors by examples??Are those positions available with FSUIPC??If nobody had done it yet, I'll try to do it with servos and a little programming.Cheers,

Anyone has an idea how to fix a yoke to a pole in such a way that it is good quality but still moves good ? And how do we transfer the movement to a pot ? Slidepot or rotating pot ?I have no idea yet how I would make a better replica of the real yoke and the way mine is fixed now is crap. If I'm not carefull I'm sure I will rip it off in no time.

My god !I'm getting sick of this. All I can do all day is wait and wait and pay and pay even more and hear bad news ..... pffffffff!I ordered FSbus via simcockpit.nl ... still nothing delivered. 200 euro spent.I had ordered Photon in US. Payed +/- 300 euro for that. Then I payed +/- 40 euro for sending it to me. And 10 euro for getting my money there by post check. Now the package delivery tells me I have to pay 78 euro customs !? Scott told me to ask the guys to open up the package and recalculate the customs in front of me. He just mailed me while I am typing this msg and he sais it sounds wrong .. it would be 30% tax. Either way I am not at all mad at Scott or b…

Hi everyone,I'm building my dashboard. It will be a simple mask over a flat screen to show the analog gauges. I want to put small switch just beside the gauges like in the real plane (HDG bug button for example). I'm looking for small round knob shape switch which when you turn the knob, it actually toggle a switch. So when you turn it left you get a key press, when you turn it right you get another key press. I've build those kind of switch for my avionics stack (see pictures below) but I'm looking for something smaller to put on my dashboard.Anyone have a idea? A good switch supplier? Thanks
