Hi guys,I have a Thrustmaster F16 PRO Joystic & THRUSTMASTER TQS throttle, both of which cost me a small fortune some years ago. The problem is that they are not USB and therefore only can be run on older PCs. Is there any way to successfully modify them to USB somehow, perhaps by using the guts out of a cheapy USB stick, or must I bite the bullit and go for some some new gear? It would be a shame to have to toss these out!!Cheers.

I'm looking at a way of connecting up a Suncom Talon and throttle combination to a home pit via USB.Was/am looking at the Plasma2 board from Beta Innovations which would be more than capable and it's relatively cheap but also thinking of an even simpler home made solution. The set would need to be recognised as two device even on the Plasma2 board but I could go the home made wayI just got a Playstation gamepad to USB connector and have two Playstation gamepads connected to it for non flight sim activity ;).Anyhow, under gameing devices these show up as two devices, each with four axis and sixteen buttons. Now the adaptor was only

Have been reading about some of you hacking usb controllers to utilize as input devices. Question: When I add the gamepad it shows up in MSFS2002 but it has the same button assigments as my Saitek X45. Anyway to change the assignments so that the Axis pad provides additional buttons? Thanks in advance for any help/advice/links.matthew

Hi everyone..I'm currently working on a radio pedistal for my 737ng sim. I've received a few sets of numbers for one particular area which conflict so I thought I'd try and get some more opinions and/or data.If you look at the sides of this pedistal you will see that somewhere in the middle, the edges go up higher and then continue on to the end/back of the pedistal. So my questions are:How much does it go up in height when compared to the height of the front before it ramps up?At what angle does it go up?I made mine so it goes up 2 inches. It's 15" tall in the front, then after the transition the rear is 17" tall. But when I look at it the back looks like it is going t…

hiI've red the other topic about commercial add-ons and fsbus. I'm trying to make PMDG737 working with fsbus but I have a big problem: I can change the effective values (heading course etc...) but the values displayed on the cockpit doesn't change. This is a big problem for me because my mcp doesn't have 7digit displays so the values displayed on the cockpit must be updated. I'm using fsinterrogate 3-scan locater to find the address of the variables to change, so I found some interesting values such as ap master etc.., but I can't find anything that changes when the values displayed changes, (selected heading, selected course etc....)any idea???thanks

I truly appreciate the support of those who have stood by me, but you DO NOT UNDERSTAND how upsetting these CONTINUOUS "You are just out for profit" posts are!!! Interestingly enough, ALL of these negative comments come from people I have never done business with, which says a lot about their validity. Out of all respect and honesty, let me make a few points clear...A. I am HURT! VERY VERY HURT, to see the constant negativity that has befowled this hobby. The fact that people can say such things about our efforts is discouraging to say the least. It WILL NOT slow m…

Hi All I need your help or Toumas help. My DC9 annnunciator panel has 28V lamps that I will connect to the FSDO card. A few of them have to remain on with the pulse of a momentary for three minutes and turn off automatically (fuel heating lamp). Others, have to turn on with a toggle switch for 15 seconds and then turn off automatically (lamp). I need CCC for this, but I don't know how to do it. I dont know how to start.

Haven't seen this around yet.Linking yokes without having to build an entire podium to put your sim upon. Works perfect. The idea as explained in my blog in dutch is as follows:First you see a picture of 2 bars linked with a pivot point on the back of the yoke-poles. They go backwards below the main panel where they are fitted on a panel. Again with 2 pivot points. The panel is fitted on the ground with 2 hinges. That's it for the pitch-link. The ailron-link has been shown before with the cable and bike-wheel-axis. Now all it needs is 2 nice clones of a real F50 yoke + some gray paint.http://users.skynet.be/porreke/blogger/blog.html

I'm getting close to building my glare shield but I have a few questions. I'd like to build it as close to the real thing as possible. Does anyone have the dimensions for the top area? I know it extends out from the MIP at 31cm. I haven't been able to find any dimensions for the top like how deep and angles and such. I can also see in pictures that the down angle on each side kind of makes a triangle for the top center piece of this shield. Any specs on that would be great to have.e shield I would greatly appreciate it. I wish I could just get into a real one for about 15 minutes with a tape measure and notepad. Thanks for any information anyone might have.-Jaime

Hi Guys,I have been following this forum for about 2 years and it has been extremely helpful. I was a real world pilot myself for about 4 1/2 years prior to being furloughed in December of 2001. I'm often amazed of the knowledge some of you possess even though you have never flown real aircraft.Regretfully my first post, or offering to this forum, is not really a positive one. My apologies. Earlier this year, Roger Wielgus had posted a thread about the costs associated with home cockpit supplies. Although I may not agree 100% with everything he said, he did make some very interesting and correct statements. Some of which concern me as well. Please understand I have never e…

Hi,Since a few month I also use Opencockpits IOCards and their software, next to Hagstroms KE72's and Aerosoft MCP expansion ports. I have USB exp card, master card, led outputs and yellow 7 segment led displays working. This week I have experimented with different types of rotarie encoders (see www.nicokaan.nl mcp page or go via new!). It turns out that GRAY TYPE rotarie encoders, such as the ones you can buy from Flightdecksolutions (REWP, RENP), can be connected directly to two consecutive inputs of the master card. They work fine! However, the IOCards sofware sometimes hang at start-up... Looks like a master card scan timing issue or workload related problem...or...?Is…

Hi all,I'm finishing up the avionics panel on my KA250. Need to implement some sort of GPS and I thought I'd throw it out to the group for suggestions... I have a 7" VGA monitor, FSBUS and Leo's legacy 64 button interface. I have been thinking about implementing the default FS9 Garmin, but am kind of paralyzed because, as you well know, once you start it's a #### to change your mind and go back and start over :)Has anyone implemented a GPS on their sim? If so I would appreciate any pointers, etc. I looked at the FlightMax and other Garmin implementations and the problem with doing one of those is that I can't get the thing full-screen... the frames are always there, o…
