Hi All,I've finally gotten round to cataloging my excess CTX monitors (you can see them in use at www.virtual737.com).They are now on Ebay UK under item numbers:511408729251140874165114087502511408834051140883635114088390probably a couple more to come. You should also be able to search for them under CTX Sim Builder. They're only on for 3 days.3 great condition with power supplies, 3 Ok condition without. I've tried to describe them in a way that non sim builders probably wont bid but hey, if they do, I need the money! They are all stripped from their cases and ready for you to mount.Feel free to ask me any questions about them if you're interested. Many thanksChrisForgot t…

It's about time I started working on my 'outside' view.I have an XGA projector (1024 x 768 resolution). I'd like to mount it as per the following diagram, infront of the sim, pointing up at a mirror and then onto a screen (flat for now, possibly curved later). The first problem I face is that the the image, at the distances involved, is not wide enough. I can buy a wide angle lens but these are VERY expensive. Does anyone have any experience of using cheap lenses to make the image wider?Any help would be appreciated.CheersChrishttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/84929.jpg

Hi all,I have just finished the first version of my Analogue Gauge ActiveX component. It also has a little test program with it.The gauge is totally configurable thanks to mr Porreke, who had some great ideas about it. You can configure the background picture (irrespective of it's size), range of travel in degrees and discrete values, color and size of the needle, size of the digits, etc, etc...Don't worry: I will not sell it for 30.000 euros, the analogue gauge ActiveX component and it's sample project files, can simply be download for free by everyone from my website (www.boeing737.tk), just go to download section.BTW: Once unzipped, you need to register the included OC…

I'm putting the finishing touches on my somewhat allpurpose cockpit and a miscalculation has left me insufficient room to place the large Grimes post lamps (they require a 1/2" hole) in some key areas. Does anyone have any tips for very small red lights that might work? ThanksDavid

Hi,Just a quick question - is it possible to create a single external view in FS2004 which shows a 180 degree field of view???In other words, whatever angle you look forward, from dead ahead to 90 degrees left or right, you see the correct view. I want to try and achieve this so I can 'experiment' with my projector, a curved screen and some lenses. As always, regards to all,Chris

Please provide feedback on my design for using one projector and six mirrors to create a front view and both left and right 45-degree views.********************************************************************Here's how it works:1. The "image" that gets projected from the projector is made up of three un-docked windows (45-left view, front view, 45-right view).2. The image gets projected onto the 3 smaller mirrors (each is about 2' wide by 1.5' tall). The side view mirrors are angled out the get the image to bounce outwards.3. The large mirrors are about 4' wide by 3' tall.4. The images get rear-projected. The front view is 5' wide by 4' tall. The side views are als…

Hi all,I've been spreading my thoughts about programming external cockpit gauges. I've come up with a algoritm to display the hand(s) of a gauge. Using any background picture as the face of the dial, I think we don't need OpenGL anymore. Just a BMP or a JPEG will do just fine. This configurable gauge should be able to produce speedometer, altimeter, engineRPM, etc, etc... Details can be found on http://home.planet.nl/~coppo020/cockpit/de...loguegauges.htmWhat do you think, do you have any suggestions?

Hey, I was wondering. Is there APU (aircraft power unit) on MSFS? If not, is it possible to make one as part of the cockpit? And what about ground power to run the systems when APU and engines are not running? It's very uncommon to have engine start at the gate, but still have power.I never seen one in FS, so just wondering. Would be cool to have one, just to add more realism to the whole experience.Regards,

After the last update from PMDG its now possible to assign shortcuts to the menu keys from the FMC, but i also need an assignment for the KBD Mode, that i can finish my external FMC project. Please, can any programmer of the PMDG help me. I ONLY need this major key to let my dream come true.I am sure that this is no problem for the programmers and take only seconds to help me.........thanksgreetingsMark

Since a day or 2 I got my PCI gracard back installed and I have to say that I am not happy at all about the drop in FPS I get in FS9 when doing the double screen stuff. If this stays like it is now I won't be able to put up much clouds and have only half the autogen and have to cut in my scenery dencity otherwise landing is near slideshow'ish.First of all .. are there any things I might try to improve this situation? I thought I read on the MS FS site that they suggest you to go to framed mode, undock the panels you want on other displays, then move them to their place and then go to full screen mode again. Only problem is that I can not select fullscreen. So was that…

HiI started thinking (I know it is dangerous :-) ) about how to make a collapsible cockpit, and I came up with a collapsible cockpit (front seat only) of a Piper Cub. The cockpit (including computer and projector or a TFT monitor) collapses into two 120x80x30cm boxes. I only have some non-detailed plans. I won't do anything more if there is no interest. So, if anyone would like some more detailed plans I would be glad to make them.Stephenhttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/86100.jpg

Just reading the Computer Pilot mag about home cockpits and they mention printing "labels" on the home printer for the various "switch faceplates". I have 2 questions please.1. the label material for my printer, is it available at Office max/Depot? That type of place? What is it called? 2. Where would one get the picture, tmeplate, etc to put in my graphics program? are they using photoreal pics? Sine my knowledge is limited, please keep the reply in a form I can understand. LOL Thanks, Gary

The first public version of the new advanced software for IOCards, SIOC will be available in a few days.http://www.opencockpits.com/uploads/images/siocp.gifThe IOC simulation system (SS-IOC) has been developed to configure all type of user defined simulations, affecting not only to the IOCards hardware, but to the way of working of the simulator and associated modules. All that we miss in the simulator can now be implemented using this software. The software uses the IOCP protocol to communicate and access with the system internal variables. The core of the SS-IOC is based on:- An IOCP server able to work with any input and output of a variable defined in the software.- An …
