For years I have planned to build my jetliner simulator, the major difference from most of you other builders is that my sim is housed in a caravan to let me take it with me on airshows, exhibitions and so on.This summer vacation my family bought a new caravan to live in, and I finally was able to start the sim building in our old caravan.Total available space inside is 2x4,70 meters, and I use half the length for the cockpit. The other (back) part of the caravan will be needed for a small pentry, 2 beds and a instructor seat.I have earlier shown on this forum the construction of my dual pedals, and I will as soon as I get some time left publish all on a web site. But I w…

Hi All,I recently received my MIP from Flight Deck Solutions and was thinking about what to use for the 6 Glass Cockpit Displays. On Ebay UK, every man and his dog seem to be selling CTX Panaview 540 monitors, 10.4" diagonal. The edge to the tablet is a little wide, but turning them 90 degrees provides a PERFECT fit for the FDS panel (in its 19" monitor configuration).I bought 3 good condition Panaviews for

Looks like someone is finally supporting us 737NG builders. I've been waiting quite some time now for PMDG to release a SDK for us simbuilders but my patience is wearing thin. If Ariane sticks to what there talking about on their website, we might just have something to work with!Fingers crossed !More info at:http://www.arianedesign.com/news/news.aspRegards,

Ok I have an issue here.I am using VB.Net for my "CockpitLink" program. The result I get is as follows:With my fsuipc code I can read the values; all goos well.I can write the virtual joystick buttons presses: all goos well. But when I do both in the same session .. the read values go mad.So each time I have to enable in my code the "read timer" OR the "write timer". Actually they are on the same timer but I have to put either of both commands as comment to prevent 1 of the 2 peices of code to be triggered. Now I will try using the VB.Net code from the SDK just 1 time more. But I think I remember from last time that code did not work at all.Anyone uses fsuipc with .Net ??

Ok here's a quitestion.I chose to build a F50 because the FS panel was there from Espen and he promised me he would make it interfacable for me. Others chose 737 (or whatever) because FDS sels ready made panels.NOW!WHAT IF:what if some company sold ANY type of cockpit panelwhat if ALL software was available (cockpits of all types of airplanes, ready to interface to via key commands and looking good on the visuals for the gauges/tv's)WHAT type of cockpit would YOU really chose to build ?I'd love to see answers quite in the same shape so I'll give you my answer as an example.-----------------I am building a Fokker50 cockpit.I would ideally want to build a BAe 146 cockpit.W…

Hi,Does anybody has an LCD working on their IOCard (www.opencockpits.com)? I'm trying to connect an 2x16 LCD Display to my master card (on J2 connector), but want to make absolutely sure that i'm doing it right... So here's some questions i'm having: 1) What is the pin layout of the output connector J2? Is it the same as with the input groups, eg pin 10, 20, 30 and 40=gnd, pin 1 = output 1, pin 2 = output 2, pin 3 = output 4, pin 4 = output 3, pin 5= output 7, etc? 2) I've found the next statement in iocards forum at www.opencockpits.com: The circuit connects to 6 exits anyone of the masters in such a way that it is formed of the following way: Exit (pin1) --> RS Exit …

Hi, I'm interested in starting my own cockpit project. I'd like to start in small scale, but extend it piece by piece into full blown cockpit. Therefore I don't like to buy an easy, beginner solution, since work with that will be wasted later on. I'm somewhat confused how to start. If I decide to use FSbus, do I need to build my own PCB or can I buy it somewhere? Do I need to program something in PC, or is all control logic stored in flash memory? Is Iocard (from opencockipts.com) compatible with FSbus, or is it completely different?I tried to download fsbus.zip from www.fsbus.de, but browser says "page not found".Is there "how to begin" type instructions for FSbus somewh…

I am using it to work out the springing and trim. I have used it in MSFS and it works well. The handle is from a Suncom F-15 stick. All of the buttons have been rewired through one of Leo Lavaca

Hi Folks. Due to a masive head on colision with a careless truck ,My income was cut to almost nothing. My dream of having my own cockpit for my pc had left me using my artistic ability rather than my bank card.I had no choice as to build out of junk ,old stereo switches and stuff, and what ever else was available around my house at the time.My landing gear lights are even on a time delay which I built out of an old CD drive assembly. My Joy stick is made of a MS Force Feedback2.I removed the potentiometers for the throttle and twist, and they are mounted in my throttle assembly .Im using a 9 pin cable to connect between the two.The forces all work. What a difference in the c…

Anyone ever had this situation ?When I use Espens panel manual (with keyboard) I have no problems with the key combos. As soon as I use it with my cockpit ( my CockpitLink program sends "virtual joystick button presses" via widefs to FS. There fsuipc generates the key combo. What I get is when e.g. "Ctrl+P" should be pressed, I end up with a "P" being output to the panel. You guys think that's a problem with fsuipc not giving the key combo right or to fast ? Or is this a problem with espens panel ?This thing is essential for my cockpit to work and it is very frustrating that I have this problem now.Though I think to remember that I had a similar issue with my Hagstrom wher…

I'm trying to configure (stop services) FSAutoStart by Ken Salter to work with FS2004, PM, and WideFS/FSUIPC. I'm curious if anyone can provide a list of Services that are needed by FS2004, FSUIPC, and WideFS. I've tried to guess which Services to stop, but doing so caused sim connection and stability problems. The Services list is quite long so any help would be appreciated. This has also been posted in Pete D's support forum. Thanks, Richard
