It's a lot of time i'm struggling on this problem: how to make realistic and working thrust reversers. In the actual aircrafts (BOEING that is) it's like this:the rev lever is blocked if the thrust lever is moved anything forward (or is blocked beyond a certain point but i don't believe it is so), if you're at idle, you can pull the rev lever, which engages the reversing nacelles, and then you have a limited forward range to move the throttles to produce power. Now how can you produce such a thing at home?I can think of various mechanical ways of implementing the hard limits for the movements, vut i can't think of an easy way (and non EPIC) of implementing the thrust revers…

Hi everyone,I want to build a kind of mask over monitors to show gauges and radio panel, for a better view I was thinking of buying small fresnel lens into the gauges holes. At the site www.3dlens.com they sold such lens and at very cheap prices. Does anyone evr try this? When using fresnel, are we seeing correctly only right in front of them or it's OK with a little angle?Any advices would be nice. Thanks

HOw can I add tension to my throttles using regular nuts and washers? I read about self locking ones in another tread. What do these look like and are they necessary? Thanks, Mike Catalfamo

1) I am looking for exact diameter, the length and width of B767-400 or B777 throttle quadrant. Hopefully have diameetr for leveler too. Would anyone know where I can find the diameter??2) I have project magenta package installed into 3 different computers. I have build MIP which CRT monitor would be sitting behind and now I suppose if I was going to start FS I would need to set up connection with Wide FS and click on PM icon to intialize the program. This would make it unrealistic so would there be a way that I could just have the PM initilize without just clicking mouse on PM's icon??Let me know

Hey Guys,Could anyone help me by sending a item that is painted in the boeing grey, preferrably from a genuine part and obviously something that is no longer required by yourself. It only has to be something small.I want to get the exact colouring right and everyone says colour matching is the best way to achieve it.Would appreciate any help please!Kind Regards,

Hi friendsI would like to post my radiostack picture about to complete. Lexan panel is made of 0.5 mm polyethilen layer and front side is sanded so that eliminate nail scratch look usually formed around rotaries.Botom section will include leds and switches for Gear lever, Parking brake, engin starter with fuel cut offs and auto brake.Toggle switches below transponder will assigned for defoult overhead fonksions such as pitot head, landing-taxi light etc.Regards Remzi Ozturkhttp://www.cesurkanat.com/resimler/radios/radiostack.JPG

I am sure that this is going to open up a can of worms but...I plan on purchasing the FDS MCP Kit and wonder what is the best way to interface it with FS? EPIC, FSBus, InterfaceIT, Hagstrome. My plan is to start with the MCP then add the glairshield, use PM or FreeFD for the MIP and the FCU so I will need some expandibility, but am not a programmer. I have a funny feeling that functionality is inversely related to ease of construction/programming. Thanks and Blue SkiesKevin

Hi all,I have been dreaming about an automatic throttle a lot these days (Daydreaming is the best part of this hobby...). The idea is to use a stepper motor to drive the throttle levers and the pots. I will read the current pot level from FSBUS and the target MSFS throttle level and compare the difference in both values. Depending on the difference being positive or negative, I will step the motor in the required direction until the difference is acceptably minimum. However, a few things come to mind:1. If there are a lot of variations on the MSFS throttle settings or if the pots are not sensitive enough, the throttles may not reach a static position, especially when tryi…

Hi everyone,I'd like to try something, use VB to display big LCD digits on a screen at certain position and superpose switch and rotary controls to make a radio stack. I know I could buy radio stacks with LEDS but I want to use mostly parts I already have.My point is, I know nothing about planes, thats why I'm building a sim for learning, but I can't code a radio stack without knowing how it work!I read the FSUIPC programmer's manual and I don't have problems codings offsets but I would need helps on how to operate the stacks with those offsets.Does anyone have VB code or some guide of how to use offsets for the radio stack? Thanks

Can you please explain me all the naming of the rotaries?I keep reading "grey" or other things, which i don't know.I know 2bit, 4bit, but don't know what is grey and what is black :)Thanks

Hello allI just got my FS stepper board build and having a little trouble.I get the board to work but only when the jumperon the COMM board is set to flash. When I put the jumpers back to normal - the stepper stopps working. The other problem is I get voltage out to OUTPUT 1 only.I can see the motor voltage is going to 1 and not to 2,3,4.I have checked and rechecked the board and it is wired up per the plans. SO I have two problem - first will to be getting the board to work when the COMM jumper is in the normal position. I have tested to see what pin 1 (AT90S2313) is doing - 12 volt when jumper is in flash mode and 5 volt when in the normal position. As for the other 3 wir…

Hi guysI need to ask you of different ways to increase the image projected by decreasing the distance of the projector from the screen.I have read in earlier posts about using mirrors and i think this may be the way to go for me,i am about to construct a building for the sim and need to get it right at this stage ! any ideas websites would be most welcome..thanks keith

Where in the software you open the CCC?? Second question how you assign what Display you want to be displayed?? For example how do I assign the comm 1 to be displayed and not nav for example??Thanks.Roberto
