Well, last night I placed my order to get my IOCard boards. Then today I went out and bought all the parts to populate one of them so I can test it out and stuff. When I get the boards, get them built, and test out the software, I'll post back and let everyone know the experience that I had with it.This is my first portion of my 737NG cockpit. Once I get these up and running and start work on the MCP/EFIS/Annun panels. :-)I can't wait! hehe

I just received 3 korry switches coming out a 737. Type chromalux 318. http://www.korry.com/PDF/Korry_318.pdfIn fact the 318 series are not real switches, but just LEDs.See:http://www.korry.com/switches.htmfor the product pallet of KorryI put 12 Volt on the LEDS and they lite up as they should. Here you see the drawing that is on the LED:http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/73560.jpgWhether I connect 1 to 3 or 1 to 2 , in both cases they light up.If I read the abovementioned doc and I look at the LEDS the cap have a 3 mm travel. I think this is for test and reset functions.(the electrical circuit drawings in the pdf file have 4 poles, mine have just 3).Question:Any suggesti…

I'm planning on building a cockpit around the PMDG 737NG. From what I understand, there aren't keyboard equivelants for all the switches on the overhead panels and a few other systems. How does one get access to those components when creating an interface system (Like FSBus, IOCard, etc).I've heard that ON737 does this but I have no idea how well it works. Are there any other options out there? For those people that are making pits around the PMDG 737NG, what are you guys doing to get around this problem? Thanks for any information anyone might throw my way.-Jaime

Hi all, Considering buying some GoFlight avionics, and just wondering what modules you can personally recommend for someone who flies the airliners. Also, I'm strongly considering their MCP. Anybody out there have it? What are your impressions. $300 isn't cheap, but I'd be willing to part with it for autopilot nirvana.TIAChrisp.s. I've posted a request for dimensions of their MCP on GoFlight's forums already, but if anyone out there has it handy, I'd appreciate it.

Hello guys...Is there a program out there that can change a keypress from my keyboard emulator to be another keypress? This would be quite useful for toggles. WHile I'm working on my keyboard emulator, getting a Hagstrom seems better and better :) Anybody recomend it and what's the cheapest one that has capability for 30 or 40 imputs? Thanks in advance...Mike Catalfamo

Hi everyone..I was thinking of building a 737NG cockpit. I'm currently using the PMDG 737NG with FS2004. I'm thinking that I could work on this over time and complete one section at a time. I was also thinking of only building half of the cockpit at this point since space is limited. I have a few questions regarding this though.Where do you get real gauges and stuff for those things that aren't very generic? Like the gauges for the electrical panel, the EGT gauge for the APU, or the temp gauges for the air conditioning units.Whats the best interface between the panels/switches/knobs and FS2004?What do you use to print the white lettering on the panels? I know you ca…

Does anyone know where I can find the ADC0838 chip in the UK? Been looking for them for ages, and RS doesn't do them in DIP20, only SOIC20, Maplin doesn't do them full stop, and Conrad doesn't seem to do them either. If anyone knows where I can source them from (preferably from the UK) I'll be eternally grateful as I'm about as useless as a fridge in the antarctic when it comes to finding this sort of thing :)

  15. Hi,I have 'designed', build and tested a 'Break Out Box' for the 72 switches of a Aerosoft Australia's MCP747 expansion port. It offers 6 connectors, each serving 12 switches and a common 'ground'. It's based on general available components and easy to build (approx. 3-4 hours work). For more information, and examples of the great programming capabilities of the MCP in combination with FSUIPC, visit my web site, mcp page.Nicowww.nicokaan.nl

I hope Boeing and Airbus will do the same for their cockpit concept promotion.Click on this linkhttp://www.dassaultfalcon.com/aircraft/900ex/avionics.jspthe click on "Explore the EASy Flight Deck"then click "Experience an interactive 3D look at EASy"You are there! Enjoy your EASy virtual visit.I also want to draw such great graphic for my cockpit. Does anyone do so?Alkithttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/73294.jpg

Hello guysI'm onto making a few FSBUS cards but I'm really not successful in making the PCB... I've tried drawing the card directly into the copper and then taking it to the FeCl, as well as printing the circuit on a glossy paper and then using clothing iron to pass the drawing to the copper, but none of them were successful.... I don't know if the papers that I used were crappy but, with the first paper, I got the circuit with lots of blur.. With the second paper, the circuit was very sharp, but a lot of the drawing stayed on the paper...Do you guys have any clues on how to make good PCBs without muuuuch trouble??Thanks a lotPaulo

Ok, I printed out the parts list for the com3 for the fsbus and toodled down to my local shop to buy the parts.I couldn't find the transistor T2 - or 78L12.Does this have another name, as they didn't have any part labelled this in their catalogue.I also didn't know what voltage was required for the capacitors, so subsequently didn't purchase the ones that aren't labeled.(c1, c2, c3, c4, c6, c7, c8, c9)If anyone can help with more information on these I would be really grateful.Thanks.Laurence MerraineICQ: 8825540

What model 737 do people use for the cockpit building?I know that people who build the 767 have used the pic model as it's got all the keyboard commands and more, but what do you suggest for the 737?I'm getting my plans together and just wanting to see what model plane to use (I currently fly the pmdg)

(ND in my case)I put ND as last one in autorun but it don't work alwais because I think it depends in how much time the other instruments load.Is there a way to load all them and automatically focus in one of them without clicking with mouse on it or using any keys combination? Thanks in advanceDylan

Here's the logic I need:variable 1 = altitude set in autopilot (target alt)variable 2 = aircraft altitudeif variable 2 comes within a range of, say 1000 of variable 1, than i get a trigger in my CCC which will:1 turn off the ASEL led2 turn on the alt led3 send a key to the computer to turn on the ALT functionIs this possible with the curent CCC ? Or do I have to contact Dirk and ask him to expand the CCC options to this level ?

Hi guys!Worked a little bit more on my fuel system for the 737:http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/72249.jpgHeh, kind of getting to the point where it can be hard to grasp. Some comments might be needed:The system uses three tanks with 2 pumps each. All pumps have a 3 seconds pressurization delay. During that time the "Low Press" light is lit. After a pump on a tank with fuel in it is running, that side of the fuel system is pressurized. The Crossfeed should work a the real one...The APU-Press output requires the Left Aft pump to be on and the left wing tank to have fuel...Question: The DC fuel pump for the APU, is it contolled by the Left wing aft pump switch or is it auto…

Hi all,I have seen a lot of homebuilt cockpits, and they are all glass I guesss because of the convenience of using a computer monitor. I was wondering if it would be possible to build a sim full of analog guages such as the DC-10 or L1011 etc? Would that be possible, I mean the guys at cranebank do it right ;-)One thing that has always confused me is the simulation of the aircraft systems. If I was making a 747 200 simulator for example, how would I make it all 'work'? When I hit the switches, what would be on the other side of them??? Would I have to write my own program or something? And what would I use as a flight model? It's all very well having a complete cockpit b…
