I was looking for this function since a long time, but never found how to implement it now I did it with CCC. It basically light up a "altitude captured" led when the current altitude is equal to the altitude set in the autopilot +/- 50 feet.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/72694.jpg

Has anyone been able to make 4 key controllers work?Because I have a simulator that even without the overhead panel, needs 4 CIDs with complete Radios, MCP, EFIS selectors, Audio Selectors, Flaps, Gear and all that.I'm just starting to think that this issue is only happening to me. Maybe everyone else has the thing down, working with more than four Key controllers. We're all experimenting with CCCs, but if we don't get this solved, then a lot of people will end up like me, with a bunch of stuff and no open ports to connect it to...Just my two cents.

Hi everyone,I don't know if this solution has been presented yet, anyway there it is :- 1st pic : I am using a FDS NOVA Boeing CDU and a fiber optic lampp (15 euros in Bauhaus )- 2nd pic : I made a hole both in the button ( yes it is still functionnig ) and the CDU plex support- 3rd pic : this is the key witouht light - 4th pic : the same with light !advantage : simple, low cost solutiondrawback : after drilling the button the tactile feeling was not exactly the same ( a small "click" instead of a loud one ), therefore I'll check if the button is still working after lots of cycles before drilling the others.

Hi to all our resident electronic geniuses ...... I've got hold of some 2-bit rotary encoders with a pushbutton switch, and I'd like to use them for radio tuning. Twist to change the whole units, push the button and twist to change the fractions.Well, I can easily figure out how to do that with a relay.... here's how I see that working:-http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/72196.gifHowever, relays are bulky and expensive. Is there a simple way to do this switching with a couple of transistors or something similar?Richard

That's right.I was starting to get frustrated trying to convert to vero board - and just as I was starting to think about packing it in, a friend knows a friend who would do the boards for me at $20 a pop.So I've got a com, key and display board made up to start with.Looking forward to making these.I thought the first section I would do is the autopilot for the 737.I've been using the pmdg 737 - but is there one that is a better option for using fsbus?I'm using fs9 so don't think the current dreamfleet 737 would be a good option, plus that's an older plane.Suggestions, and I'll start getting some pictures up shortly!

  14. Hi all,(i re-post this thread, as the previous for some reason lost it.)I'm using the last 10 months the FsBus system (h/w & s/w) and i control/fly the Project Magenta or the std FS aircrafts. I have the EFIS + MCP running and almost finished the Radios. I know all the Dirk's efforts and new fuctions in Fsbus, i know how FsBus works and read/write/communicate with PC/Fsuipc/FS. My question is simple: Where are the differences between two projects FsBus and OpenCockpits? What has the one that does not have/support the other? What is better in one of them? How the choice of the one or the aother will effect end-user/flightsimmer in his flights ?As i believe it is a very…

I've just received my rotary decoders from Richard Alty (many, thanks, Richard). I'm struggling, however, to make sense of it all since I've never used rotaries before. I have attached a diagram for somebody to point me in the right direction. Perhaps somebody can draw on it to show how the wiring goes.#1 I'm not sure which is the ground on the power input of the decoder.#2 I understand that the decoder can accommodate 3 encoders. This makes sense since there are 3 banks of 4 pins (JP1, JP2, JP3) and 3 banks of 3 pins (JP5, JP6, JP7). I'm guessing that they are the inputs and outputs of the decoder. But which is which?#3 How do I connect a rotary encoder to …

Hi All,I am currently building a 777 sim using EPIC and Project Magenta and I am new to this forum.Last weekend I came across the following question: For selecting the speed for example there are 4 offsets in Project Magenta: Inc/Dec in steps of 1 and Inc/Dec in steps of ten. I think that it is necessary to use all of them because using only Inc/Dec in steps of 1 means rotating the knob too often. It is the same for the heading and altitude selectors. At the moment I have standard rotary encoders and I am thinking about using dual concentric encoders to do the job.So I am asking how you are solving this problem? Any ideas? Is there another way instead of using dual concent…

New software to control analog gauges.http://www.opencockpits.com/images/gauge.jpgNew software is available at www.opencockpits.com download area. IOCGauges is an IOCP server that connects with IOCards and controls different analog gauges.Tutorials and example configurations will be shortly available to easily build these type of elements that can be simulated and controlled through IOCards.
