Hi,I would like to rebuild my landing gear lever to get one, more realistic.I like the Flight Deck system one.Does any one knows how the real things work ?- On the Flight Deck picture, we can see a spring at the end of the lever. Is that meen, we have to pull the lever towards us to put the lever free and move it up and down as we wish ? - Do we have to turn the handle in some direction to lock any position ?- If we look at the red part on the lever picture, (kind of gun trigger) is it a moving part or just something to help to pull the lever ?Thank you!JP Tremblayhttp://pages.infinit.net/flight01/index.html

Can anybody tell me where & what I should be looking for in purchasing a good 21" or 23" Widescreen monitor? I'm concerned because I don't know if the FS2004 & PMDG software will fill out the whole screen and what the definition will be...and becuase some games do not accuratey support wide-screen displays you might be flustered if the image looks abnormally stretched.. I assume that FS2004 supports the wide aspect ratios and if so, what is that ratio? Do you have to have 16:9 or can you get away with 16:10?If this is the wrong forum to discuss this, please accept my apologies and direct it accordingly.Regards & thanks for any inputs.jack

Ok I have read through a number of posts in a number of forums and I am confused. Some people say that they have used the PMDG 737 or the LDS 767 to build their cockpits. Some have posted that they use both PMDG or LDS and Project Magenta.Does this mean that you would use the PMDG flight model and system logic and only use Project Magenta for displaying stuff like PFD,ND and EICAS? So all switches and buttons like the FMC talk to the FMC in the actual PMDG plane? As you cannot network these planes.. do these people have all their IO cards connected to their main computer for things like the fmc? In other words I am looking to make some sense out of what is possible with th…

Hello all.Does anything simulate this?In many of my add-on planes, i.e. the Citation X, you get the bells and lights when you test during pre-flight check. But I have never experienced a "real" engine fire in flight, but surely an engine-failure, that can be set in the FS menu. The question is how to set it up in a home-cockpit. The cruel thing I have in mind, if it can

Hey Folks, This is my first post, but I am a long time FS fan. I would love to buy the CH Yoke, but due to budget issues and lack of Force Feedback (I know, some don't like it), I can't/won't purchase it at this time. My question to you is, can we take an existing FF Joystick and set up a yoke that moves the stick according to the yokes position? I have the idea in my head, but can't seem to get it out of there for illustrative purposes. I just wanted to see if any clever homebuilders out there can solve the engineering problem. Also, it needs to be connected in such a way that the FF affects the yoke forces, or if an existing FF joystick can be dissassembled and have i…

I have now managed to get my FDS MCP working with Aerowinx PS1 for the B744. This has been made possible by Photon PS1. Sorry I don't have photos or site yet. I am next working on connecting the EFIS and EICAS panels. See Photon's site also http://www.iflightsystems.com/PS1Starter.htmPeter.

  10. Hi all....I've been having some problems with my LEDS's lighting up using FSBUS FSLed board. I went through troubleshooting to try and correct the problem but I'm getting something funny in PIC when I read it after flashing.I found that after I re-flash PIC on my FSLED and then read the PIC the last 10 sets of digits are all 3FFFF. All the other combinations above them look fine. I think there are about 15 sets that are 3FFF's and they are the last 15 sets.Anyone have any ideas what might be going on ? I tried to re-flash again and the 3FFFF's went to 3AAAA's so now I totally confused???Many thanks for any thoughts comments....JB

Hi,I just got the OK from the wife to build a shed for a sim in the backyard. Work is starting this Saturday...Anyway, after reading many websites I am a little confused. How do you guys implement cockpit automation for things like lights on switches turning off when another switch is pressed? Is there a way to perform checks or logic via macros? Do you guys use the software that comes with IO interface boards? Are there any tutorials that explain this?

  17. Hi all...I had to get a new FSCOM as my old one died. It is the new FSCOM NG and apparently isnn't compatible with my classic FSAD card. I run my gear and flaps on my King Air with FSAD. Could someone help me with the following questions:1) Flaps/Gear Up/Down - will I have to go to FSKEY to make these work now ?2) What would the best switches be for the flaps (12 position rotary) and gear up/down (toggle switch) ?3) How should I set each up in FSRouter (I downloaded the new version 2.4.1). 4) Finally, is it really true, my classic FSAD card will not work with FSCOM NG ?Many thanks for anyon'e thoughts/comments ?All the best....JB

Several months ago I mentioned I got the aluminum frame for my curved screen, using Warvet's (Tim) principal. After I got it, it wasn't quite the way I wanted it..... (what else is new... right?) Anyway, I finally got it back with some excellent adjustments and am in the process of installation. Here is a couple of pics of my mess, I'll try to keep you up to date here or you can visit my web-site at this page (beware, I'm in the midst of redoing my site): http://www.a340project.us/gallery9.htmSince I just got started on the assembly I'll have more info later.

hello folks out there im in the process of building a sim with about 10 monitors and five of the monitors being the views, and of course the middle monitor being where the center line goes down, im wondering if my point of view should be in the center, or to the left like in the real planes, i know i have seen sims where most of them are to the left of the line, but i have seen those where there point of view is center.im thinkin that with it to the left it would seem akward to fly being that it is just a sim, and not the real thing, does anyone have any thoughts on this.Thanks...................................Camtech

I need to know so I can set the proper thrust if a FLC descent is commanded.Regards Simonaka The Porcupinewww.desktopflying.co.uk, in severe need of an updateVery slowely putting together a generic(ish) twin desktop unit.

Just getting ready to wire up my first panel or two with the hagstrom encoder and some radio shack dpdt switches. Nothing fancy Do you guys use a spool of bulk wire, 5 wire? 6-7-8 wire type? What would you reccommend? My panels will have anywhere from 5-10 connections per panel. If more, then I'll double up the cable to make 20, etc.. I was just thinking of some type of spool that I could draw from for future panels. Thanks,Stella
