Hi,I just stumbled onto the following site...don't know if it has been discussed before on this forum, since I'm just starting to build. However, on the chance that you've not seen it:http://www.eMachineshop.comReally is an amazing site. One downloads the FREE CAD software, with printed and audio tutorials, the designs the part using the software and obtains an instant price quote for it's manufacture. Parts can be made out of almost any material, by almost any technique be it milling, laser engraving, whatever. Materials include MDF board, polystyrene, polycarbonate, nylon, silicone rubber, the list is LONG.Anyway, I'm not involved AT ALL with this company, but thoug…

Hi guysRecently I purchased 2 "Competition pro" LCD screens which are the same as the playstation LCD screens. For some reason I have been not able to wire it up so that it works via the DB9 vga cable and get it to detect... it works fine using AV input but the quality is bad.I ahve read several documents but none talk about the "competition pro" LCD and although the PS1 inputs are the same as far as pins I still cannot get it working. If any of you have a solution I would be very thankfulMarius

Evening guys, havent been here much lately, busy with other things!Thought I'd update you all on my panels though, these were designed by me for our 146 STA simulator, we opted for completely custom designed panels, rather than a 146 style one, so I based them on A320/737 Classis style systems, keep things generic :)Designed them in CAD and had a local Laser Cutters cut them from 3mm Acrylic (the paint is PlatiKote Super Enamel - Satin Black). They will be backlit (obviously?), and spot the deliberate mistake (honest!) lol, will have the panel recut when I get the next batch made up (the pedistal section).Let me know what you think :)Phil

Hiya guysI know FreeFD has disappeared a while ago offically, whih is a great shame, its a cracking program!.Anyhow, I have a few versions, an early early one (0.61) and a later one v 1.xAnyyyway, the PFD and the ND work great, fantastic! I have a few problems however with the EICAS :(On my instrument PCs, the PFD and the ND both run at 20+ fps, however the EICAS program struggles to ever get above 2fps :(.I blame this on it being a buggy ealry version 0.61. So I tried to get the later EICAS program working, but it just crashes on launch :(Has anyone got a working (decent speed) FreeFD EICAS version? I'm desperate! If not FreeFD, anyone know of any free EICAS programs? Ive…

Hi,I'm researching building a Lear 45 cockpit. Has anyone come across good glass cockpit software, worthy of purchase? Are people using the project magenta software, and if so, what? I'e been perusing all of the sites I can find, but havn't seen a consensus as to what one should use for the Lear 45, or what works well....M

Hello all!I'm a real world CFII and Piper PA28-181 ArcherII owner. My 12 year old son and I are about to embark on the construction of an in-home SimPit. I've been using MSFS since it was SubLogic Flight Simulator 2 on the Commodore 64, and have lately been flying X-Plane as well. We see the project evolving over 2-3 years (of course it will never really be finished, will it), but we are starting to look seriously at beginnning in the next week or so. I am a computer systems consultant, and am no stranger to building computers at home, and I do do some programming as part of my job. I thought that the combination of RW flight experience and computer expertise would b…

Hi All,I would like to ask what would be the preferred system for the FS PC, to run FS2004 with a dual head video card, should I go for Intel? AMD? How much RAM do I need? Can you suggest a video card?I am _not_ going for a basic configuration, and would like to have a med-to-high performance system (however, don't want to spend US$600 for the video card alone...)Any suggestions appreciated!Cheers,Yaniv

Hi all,Continuing design on my 757/767 cockpit, I am currently troubleshooting my FMC/CDU design. With the valuable help of Nico (and through him, Ian's and Ricardo's), I managed to undock the CDU and move it to the 5" TFT screen I had attached to the TVOUT of my VGA. I also managed to resize the CDU window just enough to cover the whole TFT.However, I haven't been able to hide the window frame. It's always visible within the FS window. I am running at 1280x960x32 on the main desktop and 640x480x32 on the TFT/TVOut.This with FS in windowed mode. If I switch to full screen after I have moved the CFU display over to the TFT, it resized, I think because it's forced to oper…

Hello,I'm building a 767/757 throttle quadrant to replace my old one.I have to start with the speed brake lever but I have a problem so this is my question to the people who have been in a real 767.To take the lever out of the DOWN position, do you have to pull the lever UP first and than slide him back? Like the Flaps or is it just slides backwards to the UP position.thanksErikhttp://home.scarlet.be/wachters.erik

Hello everyone, I recently purchased a throttle quadrant out of a Canadair Challenger business jet(which happens to be the same throttle quadrant used in the Canadair Regional Jet). I am modifying it for use with FS2004. I was tired of using the small single lever for throttle control. I mainly fly twin engine airliners like the ERJ, CRJ and PMDG 737 so I set out looking for a twin engine throttle control and lucked out on eBay. Anyways, I have a question concering the 2 microswitches I'm using to control the fuel levers. This particular throttle uses the throttle levers as a fuel control. To turn off the engines you pull on a lever on the backside of eac…

I am having a difficult time solving my unique problem regarding variable thrust reversers. I have an actual throttle quadrant from a business jet. I want to have variable thrust reversers on each engine. My problems comes when figuring out the setup. In the attached photo, the silver arms with the holes on the end move with the throttle levers. Great! I can mount the slide pots to them. HOWEVER, when throttles are brought back to idle and the reversers engaged, the silver arms begin to move forward again. The reverser mechanism disengages the throttle levers from those silver arms and the arms move forward again to increase thrust in reverse. How would I set up my pots…
