Hi everyone... I tried posting thiis in the FS Hardware forum with no luck, maybe you lot can help.I'm currently experimenting with different multi monitor setups with a view to eventually buliding my own cockpit (haven't even decided which aircraft yet). I'm confused about VGA and SVGA specifications. In the questions that follow I may use say "VGA" when I should say SVGA - I am confused remember!Q1) I assume that all modern CRT and TFT displays are SVGA, however I have seen some cables advertised as either VGA or SVGA (these are more expensive). Will my choice of VGA or SVGA cable effect the allowable display resolutions or over all image quality?Q2a) What characteristi…

Hello everybody, As most know... parts sales for me are just in my free time. For the past month or two, I know I've been virtually unreachable. I do apologize for going A.W.O.L. Real world work has been very demanding, and I had a major presentation this week. So basically ALL sim stuff has been on hold for me since the last update. Thanks to everyone for your concern and I will certainly post a message as soon as I am back on sim stuff. If all goes as planned, I'll be back in the next 1-2 weeks.Best regards,Roberthttp://www.777Simulator.com

G'day guys, I'm from oz, and am lookig to build my first cockpit. I plan on building something, along the lines of a c172/152. However, I'm pretty tight on cash, so all those fancy servo driven gauges are pretty much out of the question. My thoughts are to instead of use mechanical gauges, use monitors, behind a peice of PDF, with holes cut for gauges, and then edit the panel to display it properly. I have searched on the net (briefly) and haven't been able to find any set ups similar to this. Can anyone point me in the direction of someone or a website who has done this setup before. Plus any other general advice, or problem/hints you might want to pass on to me. I am re…

Hello seasoned flight simmers! My name's Angel. (i'm a guy FYI)Here's the breakdown of what i currently have.A "schweet" laptop with FS9, and a large TV.My plans:1. Default FS9 panels to show fullscreen on laptop LCD.2. Exterior environment to display on "large" TV using s-video 7-pin to 3-RCA cable.3. Purchase CH's flight yoke, Pro pedals, and in the future, their new throttle quadrant.I want versatility. Fly the Cessna, and all other aircraft. If anyone can give me pieces of advice on the 3 essential goals for the setup; necessary add-on software for integration of components, like splitting into the two display devices, etc...Laptop specs:2Ghz processor128MB ATI video ca…

I have built the following set up (see attachment) in order to have auto-trim adjustment on my control column. I have used a dc motor.I want it to be activated from pitch trim switches on the yoke, but if possible also activated or controlled by the autopilot. What is the best way of doing this with FSBus. Hi all....I've been troubleshooting a problem with my second FSKEY classic board recently and wonder if anyone has any ideas.1) I have a FSCOM NG and my first FSKEY board works great with it.2) When I plug my second FSKEY into FSCOM I get no activity from the switches connected to it.3) I have completed continuity checks from pin-to-pin and checked the board for cracks with a mangnifying glass. It all looks OK4) I replaced the PIC, the IC4051, capacitors and crystal and still can't get it to work5) I even tried a new 10 pin cable between FSCOM and FSKey board and still nothingIf anyone has any ideas that I may have missed I'd arppreciate them ? If I can't figure it out I …

Hi all,I have fskey , fs display boards working succesfully. I cannot seem to get the fsled board working. I can flash the board succesfully. If I use any version of the software the test utility dio / led test does not work. I have tried CID's from 1 to 20 no diff. I have also tried to map a switch fron fskey to fsled. I works in the software on screen but no change in the LED's . I have pulses present on the base of the driver transistor but the pin from the pic to the collector of the transistors never changes. I have traced all the tracks checked for shorts or broken tracks. I would appreciate any help or suggestions.RegardsAndre

Hi all,I am planning on building a general cockpit, that I can use for different planes.Thinking about it I came to the conclusion that I want to be able to use different settings for switches / axes depending on the type of plane I am going to fly. (ie two throttles vs four throttles etc.)Is there a possibility or a utility that lets me do this? I was thinking of making a BAT file and copying the FS9.cfg with different settings (I am going to use Goflight modules and CH products) or is there an easier way to do this.ThanksJeroen Bos

Looking at setting up three monitors for views in a multi-pc setup.Undecided between a 24" widescreen centre with a 19" either side or three 20" widescreens (cheaper option and would give more space but less on the primary display).Any opinions, recommendations?

Hi,I'm developing a "glass cockpit panel" (my first ever) for the ATR72-500...it uses OpenGL library and it can run on a dual monitor system or over a network on a client computer without the need of additional software (except for FSUIPC in the computer where FS2004 is installed) since it has its own network engine. Here is a preview:As you can see some detail of the Torque gauge is missing and I'm currently working on the ITT, NH/NL textures to complete the panel. As soon as it will be finished, it will be available as FREEWARE for all the ATR's enthusiasts (well...actually for all the people).I hope you like it...Regards,Bob

Just browsing through and electronics site in Aus and located rotary encoders, alps type SRBM2L59EX, which I beleive are the type that close one switch in one direction and another switch in the other direction. Runs the same as a knitter I think. $1.50aus (?$1.20US) each, but AAAARRRRGGGHHH too late. Will contact the company and see what the chances are of getting more. I won't say that he will sell heaps, otherwise he'll bump up the price. Keep you posted.Rob

Hi thereI know... it is a crazy project for a beginner but why loosing time with small things.I'm in the lucky situation to have an almost complete original Super Constellation cockpit and I want to make a simulator from those parts.Additionally I have a sponsor who pays all the material I need... a perfect situation so far.I think the cockpit itself is not the problem since I'm an electronics technician and also a good mechanic. The problem is more that I don't have any experience with interfacing the mechanical stuff (instruments, switches....) to the MSFS.I have spent a couple of days to find out what's on the market to make my dream come true and I found very much.At …

The specs say Resolution SVGA (800 x 600) SXGA (1280 x 1024)How do i know if my video card supports SXGA? I have a XFS 6600gt agp. I can find nothing on any specs of video cards that claim they support SXGA. I've looked all over Tiger direct and googled the heck out of it in a few different ways. Just what WOULD supply a SXGA signal to this projector?Rebecca
