Merry Xmas folks,I am doing some research on a pit (767-300) that I would like to build. After doing some looking on airliner.net, I find that the 777 and the 673 have very similar main panels. Would it be safe to go ahead and research the 777 pit which seems to be more abundant than the 673 pit? The only difference I see after about a few hours of searching is that the 777 has digital standby gauges.TIASTUD

Here are a series of shots of the construction of the yoke column. I used a water drainage tube for the column and the CH yoke. Here are the shots:http://www.flightsimnetwork.com/dcforum/Us...b221cc5ac38.jpgDisasembled yoke with the original tube cut shorter.http://www.flightsimnetwork.com/dcforum/Us...b781cf1e6b6.jpgThe yoke fitted into the column. The two Rings near the top and bottom are to avoid the yoke from sliding in and out of the culumn. http://www.flightsimnetwork.com/dcforum/Us...be71d65ac38.jpgI used these things at the base of the yoke column for the resistance. they go from the floor board up into the yoke. I am not sure what you call them in english but in d…

Hi allI am currently trying to get the feel of the dimensions of the 737NG pedestal. I'm doing this in autoCAD and it seems I'm getting the hang of it. I've only done the wooden frame work, and some metal sheet housing so far (still in the virual CAD-world though...lol). Now I have to start to think about the inside stuff. It's gonna be a lot of pots and servos I'm afraid. I am planning on working trim wheel with servos for A/P trim. working trim needles. Spoiler pots. Servos on the throttle levers. Working reverse levers and of course flap levers. All the buttons should also be live. The pedestal seems to be the hardest part to get "real". Anyone tried servos on throttle…

Merry Christmas to everyone! Since I had "ready crew" yesterday I decided to make myself a christmas present. It's not the real thing from GO-FLIGHT but I think I came pretty damn close. It still needs some work: painting, more polishing, etc. I'll keep everyone posted as the project goes further. Later on today I'll post pictures of the different panels & switches than I'm incorporating.

Hey all,I'm relatively new to the whole concept of electronics, and I'm currently in the process of assembling my first throttle quadrant well anything for that matter. I ran into a snag that could easily be solved by trial and error, but before I solder I thought I should ask. Does a greater resistance from the pot equate to a higher (positive) value in FSUIPC? Bascically will turning the pot to a position that offers greater resistance offer 'more power' from the throttle?I hope this makes sense, and thanks for any help!Jeff

I'm working on making a GA cockpit for a single engine turboprop and I was wondering if civilian turboprops (specifically Piper's Meridian )have the ability to select which tank to take fuel from & to transfer the fuel load during flight to balance the weight of the aircraft. I'm asking this question because all I ever worked on is mititary helicopters and the helos have this ability (at least to transfer fuel from the external tanks to the main ones). :-rotor

Hi Guys, I metioned on other forum few months ago about seven segment digit display. I am looking for anyone who know or has experience going through build up circuit and have seven segment digit display to work with EPIC instead of purchasing another board which I already have. You see, My cockpit needs about 42 display to operate like real life situation, and the board manufactured by EPIC can only get it operate up to 32, Like wise I would need 10 more display to operate. And I did not want to purchase another board. instead of build up up to 10 displays. So any idea about circuit diagram, or refer to your experience if you have? Let me know.

Hi AllHas anyone figured out how to cut reasonable panels from plexiglass or other materials?? I've been battling this one for a while. For the larger, less intricate panels, hardboard is useable, but for more intricate ones like FCU's, I havent figured out a reasonable way to cut these yet.Suggestions welcome, for any materialsDave T

Now that my favorite aircraft has come out in a few different variants (Dash 8) I am thinking it is possibly a good time to look at building a cockpit for one. I think my biggest problem is going to be finding parts etc. Considering that the first commercially flown Dash 8 is still flying I am assuming old spare parts and the possibility of finding a nose section will be next to impossible. So, where do I get started? Is there a web site that gives some good pointers to first time builders? Where are the best places to look for parts? Oh ya, anybody got a Dash 8 Nose section for sale? Thanks for any help you may be able to offer.http://www3.telus.net/dport1/Radar_small.gif…

I currently have a setup consisting of an Athlon 650mhz 256RAM + Voodoo 3500 card connected to a 17" Viewsonic monitor, linked through a TCP/IP protocol to a Pentium MMX233 32RAM on a TXpro-II mobo + 4MB onboard vid + 17" Hyundai monitor. For the time being I am using FreeFD and am getting very slow frame rates on my PFD and ND displayed on the P233 machine. I recently bought two Nvidia TNT2 M64 16MB PCI cards (an auction at ebay) for my P233 but I couldn't get the puter to boot. Can someone tell me if these cards have a compatibility issue with the P233MMX processor? or the TXPro-II mobo? They have been tested on the Athlon and work fine. I am in dire need to get better …

On the right side get a glimpse of the Engine Controls Gauges I made which will be fitted with small servos, and instruments frames I am just waiting for.RegardsRoger

Hi Folks,I am a 747 classic home cockpit builder. In my cockpit, most of the parts are bought from eBay and some private deals with those sellers on eBay. Would anyone please give me some suggestion for where to get real parts for my 747 project? I just have few of the parts selling company (really few only), they send me a list with part number and name. They quote me a price which is.......$$$$$$$$. I think that is for airworthy condition. What i am looking for is some nice looking junk cockpit parts and instruments. I don't need them work well, but want they look nice. As I read thru this forum, I know many builders in here have this expertise. Would you guys kindly sh…

I don't quite have the resources to go to a networked Wideview setup just yet, although it is a long term goal.In lieu of that, would an XP1900+ 512K ram system be able to handle and give decent results for a 4 monitor setup?Plans are:-A GF3Ti200 AGP running the sole 3D outside view.3 PCI cards running the instrument panel views. At the moment I have the AGP and 1 PCI card and am running 2 monitors. I plan to buy the other 2 in the not too distant future, but am wondering if the one machine can handle it.How much of a load on FS performance are the 3 auxiliary 2D windows running via their own graphics cards? Thanks in advance.

I want to show off my first attempt at a switch panel for my home cockpit. Here are a few pic's of my Start Control Panel for my GA cockpit, I will be using a Hagstom KE72 to integrate it. I also have a few other's in the design phase. This one is for Magneto's, Batteries, Fuel Pumps, Starters, and Generators for a twin piston plane. My next one is based on the FSD Seneca and is a working DDMP panel minus the digital readouts (have to look at the screen for that) I took a screenshot of the DDMP and blew it up and added a rotary switch and some spring loaded toggles to work the DDMP through key2mouse assignments. It works real slick in testing, hope to have it completed so…

Just thought I let you know www.a340project.us has been updated with new pics. The project is comming along very well. Peter Cos (FlightDeck Solutions) has out done himself with outstanding detail on his panels. He's in the process of completing the FULL overhead panels. Every day that I work on my project I get more excited. Matt O.

Here's my problem. I bought a Suncom Yoke (I know is not the best but for my home cockpit is perfect). It has 4 switches but no POV Hat, I got the POV hat(4 switch: up, down, left, right) from another joystick and modified the yoke to fit this new switch (it looks factory made!). Now, does anybody know how to wire it to the PC and make it a 8 way Hat switch (Sidewinder uses also a 4 switch setup for it's 8 views). A schematic would be helpfull, if pictures are needed to solve the problem let me know. Thanks!!
