Guys,Just a comment, it is very sad to see some good add on not updated for the last FS, only because it was not sold in the way that the company would like.Where is the compromise of them to up date their product to those that buying same was supposing that could use the add on for all FS?Just a relief. Well, I was diagraming what is to become my new throttle quadrant when I came up with a rather simple question. Let me premise this by saying I'm not horribly electrically minded and this is the first thing I've really ever built. My question is this.... I was going to setup two pots opposing each other like this:|- -| since they are opposing isn't the resistance of one going to be increasing while the other decreasing? I want to do this to save space between the levers. Is the way to overcome this problem by setting the opposite settings in fsuipc on one? Any help is appreciated.JeffAside - I'll try to post some pictures once the building actually commences...I'm …

Hi, I am currently working on Auto yoke using 12VDC motor, along with force feeback. What I am doing now is trying to find any kind of information on driver circuits or a schematic that can show how I can wiring up/connecting toward to 12VDC stepper motor. I am looking for any components that can "invert" the motor into bipolar since DC motor can only go direct one way. I am trying to find any information that can input the ideas in order for me to build one. I spend two nights searching through google.com,yahoo.com and none of inquiries I am looking for has such details that explain the exactly information I am looking for. I also hope I could find any mechnaical lin…

Below some info on how you can make your home-build yoke feel more realistic. Most force feedback joysticks use small electro motors that will try to move the stick in x and y direction via gears. The electronics of those sticks can be used for adding the same thing to your yoke. To make it feel realistic, the forces need to be much higher (esp elevator). I bought a Logitec Wingman Force 3D (USB),opened it up and measured & tracked the electronics diagram. (See below simplified diagram) This stick uses 100K potmeters for the 4 axis, so connecting your external yoke potmeters for elevator, aileron, throttle and rudder is no problem. The totally 11 switches are in row/c…

no one seems to be answering (or viewing the question for that matter) so I turn to this crowd....OK, so I'm finally getting my three older pc's setup to run wideview in my garage (I've settled on a b17 as my aircraft of choice for this "cockpit")I've downloaded some scenery for the Omaha area, and it requires the Texture2.02 file pack. So I've found that and downloaded it, however there's no readme of any sort. So, does anyone remember back to their FS98 years to help me get this package installed?

I'm building a three-engine throttle quadrant with flap & speed brake levers based on the how-to article at http://www.flightsim.com/cgi/kds?$=main/howto/throt.htmI'm trying to come up with a way to increase the friction of the levers. Since it will be a full size replica, the weight of the levers will overcome the resistance that the potentiometers would provide and they wouldn't stay in place.I'll be using a 1/4" diameter aluminum rod as the axis for the gears which the levers will be attached to. I was thinking of using compression springs to provide a side load to add friction. I'd place them between the gears & the aluminum flats through which the rod pas…

Guys, I am looking for Orange/Amber or Yelloish color 7 segment digit displays for MCP. I tried Mouser, they didnt have any. I tried All Electronics, They only have red color. I tried DigiKey, but I am putting it in alternative, because the size .3 amber/orange or yellow display cost $1.849 something each, and I request for 40 single displays which cost me $75 dollars total. I didn't want to be stupid enough to pay for it, until I could find cheap one. I do know any few electronics vendors sells displays for .50 each, do you or has anyone know any of it? If so, post me the website, or phone nbrs
