Hey, Can anyone recommend a good site/forum dealing with electronics? I have just started on my project, but my electronics knowledge is very basic. I am trying the "learn as I go" approach, but I know I will have questions. I have an EPIC card and so will be using switches, lights, and all that nice stuff you can connect to it. I have wired one switch to the card so far to test and that went ok. What I expect to struggle with are the panels and keypads I have bought that use anywhere from 5VDC to 115VDC. Thanks!Dave

Anybody, What I want to do is display 2 monitors using one same computer. Would a video card that is already slotted in the computer and computer own build up monitor port be able to display two at a time using Project Magenta's PFD/ND? If so, would that seprate up the progress if I want to zoom ND on captain side and the ND on co-pilot side wouldn't zoom in too? Otherwise, could you share any suggestion to those who experienced using PFD/ND using 2 monitors on one computer, let me know

Gentlemen,Someone of you tried to do a 7 segments display for autopilot panel without using Epic ?I am trying to do that but ...RgdsAlberto Kunzel

Hey Guys,Last year a friend told me UAL had a program called "Pilot for a day" Where customers could come and lease time on their Boeing simulators. I contacted them and of course they said since Sept 11th that program has been permanently canceled. My question to the group is do you any of you guys know any private flight schools that will allow the general to lease time on their simulators? This is something I'm dying to do and will pay any price.Thanks,-PK

Hey everyone, As of now, I am looking for any webpage that has some tips or instruction related to building up homemade yoke, rudder pedal, throttle quadrant, and etc. Using Wood/plastic/metal... Any Idea which site has a good information? Back then, Derek Higgs used to have a good source information on his older webpage. Now the new webpage of his is a big turn off...

Some actual progress has happened. A reasonably functional home-brew air-core movement has evolved and prototype circuitry to drive it now works. No pretty package yet so it doesn't much look like an aircraft gauge, but the pointer points and the circuitry doesn't smoke (much). A bit more info is available at www.mikesflightdeck.com/aircore_instruments_1.htm toward the bottom of the page.Mikewww.mikesflightdeck.com

Hi guysHere's another one...lolWhat in your opinion is the fastest system to get rotaries to work smooth and accurate? I would like to have an almost imediate response to the panels they are outputting. i.e the radio stacks and the MCP.Is there any system today that work as the real thing (737-NG) i.e. without any "notches" or as I would say seemless? I can't seem to find the right word here. Some card that would have direction and acceleration as inputs?

Hi Everybody, I have started a new web site to help connect sim builders with sellers of reasonably priced spare aircraft parts. It's called Sim Spares, and It allows anybody to post their old sim hardware and aircraft parts (even joysticks and panels), all at no charge. I hope that this site will help others realize the dream of having real aircraft parts in their sims. This site is a free service to the flight sim community, so if you have hardware laying around that you no longer need, feel free to post it!http://www.simspares.cjb.nethttp://www.promfd.com/simspares/images/sslogo.jpgRobert Prather

Hello... With great inspiration from many pics and links I've decided to build the A340 sim. I just opened a personal WEB site with a page of pictures of my progress: http://www.mj-olieman.com I plan on using Flight Decks panels, multiple projection system (would love to have a collimating mirror but not likely). I promise to keep in touch of my progress. Today is day 8, and a long ways to go. Thanks to Peter Dickenmann for sharing his drawings Flight Deck Solutions for their pics, the A320 Project, and the fine Sim folks here. I'm excited about this project, talked about this for years, and I'm finally doing it.

PeterK Maybe I missed this one... Why all the 1 to 1 scale panels?I mean really whats the point...your kind of stuck flying a boeing777...your fixed on one sim and one airplane...Humor...PeterK

Hi guysI'm looking for an AOM for the 737-600 or possibly the 737-700. Preferably Star Alliance? Anyone of you guys that has one you don't need anymore? (Well. I'd better try at least :-)) Not too expensive though...lol. Also looking for the Technical specs on the panels for the NG.Another thing I am looking for is some kind of flightdeck layout with the main dimensions. Both on the cockpit boundary and the panels! Thanks in advance for any offers or tips!

Hi fellow flightsim dudes.I'm still in the planning phase of the B747-400 cockpit project. After working out most of the costs of having it built to replicate the real thing, it became clear that I needed to pause and take a reality check if I wanted to get airborne within the next 5years. I've ruled out using authentic controlls so I'm currently looking at all other options.Ideally controll yokes need to be linked, however I'm not confident that I have the shaping/moulding/casting skills/equipment to make these from scratch. I noticed that a guy in Japan is using the Fly PFC floor standing control yoke, however they are not linked with the F/O side. Also they seem to be …

Hi all,I am putting my complete flight Link sim equipment up for sale on ebay, but before I do I thought I would see if anyone here was interested. You can check out pictures and descriptions on their site at www.flightlink.com.My equipment consists of:1. AV-IFR console (orignal version which was better than the one the sell now as it also had Cessna like throttles on the console and a real beechcraft yoke )2. Sub-panel (original version which is better than the one being sold now as it has rocker switches and a sloping front)3. KR-1 avionics stack4. Single and twin throttle quadrents (original versions- no detents)5. Rudder control module6. Stand/Mount for throttles and K…

Hello,Does anyone have the instructions to building the VRAC Twin Throttle Quadrant?. The kit only came with the throttle instructions. I am missing the instructions to building the Speed Brake, Flaps, and Engine Reversers. The kit is also missing the handles for the throttle arms. The CD they sent contains no data as well. I have contacted VRAC about this and I am awaiting an answer. You would think that a kit that costs over $400.00 there would be better quality control before the kit is shipped.ThanksMichael
